1Epidemiology of civilian blast injuries inflicted by terrorist bombings from 1970-2016显示文摘An upsurge of terrorist activity has occurred in the past two decades. As part of this, explosive devices continue to be extensively deployed against civilians in wide-ranging environments. Bombings remain the leading worldwide cause of civilian fatalities due to terrorism. This demands an understanding of modern terrorist bombing trends to inform mitigation strategy. The objective of this study was to identify the occurrence and severity of bombings against civilian targets in diverse attack settings, and to establish corresponding blast injury profiles. Data was obtained from analysis of the Global Terrorism Database(GTD) and a meta-analysis of blast injury data derived from the PubMed database. Closed environment explosions were associated with significantly greater(p<0.05) mortality than in open spaces. 6Adaptive Interval Type-2 Fuzzy Controller for Variable-speed Wind Turbine显示文摘In this paper,an adaptive interval type-2 fuzzy controller is proposed for variable-speed and variable-pitch wind turbines.Because of attractive features of the well-known wind turbine baseline controller,the proposed controller acts as an augmented controller and works in parallel to the baseline controller.As typical variable-speed wind turbines have different controllers for different operation regions,for each operation region,a dedicated interval tvpe-2 fuzzy controller is designed.Because of the uncertainty in wind speed measurement,modern control techniques try to estimate this value.However,in contrast to these modern control techniques,the proposed controller is independent of the wind speed estimation.Thus,there is a better saving in cost and computational burden.To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed controller,simulations are conducted with wind profiles which span all operation regions.Results show that,compared with the baseline controller,the proposed controller enhances power generations and reduces mechanical loads concurrently.Danyal Bustan Hoda Moodi 2022Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy2022,10,2:0

9Sentiment Analysis Based on Performance of Linear Support Vector Machine and Multinomial Naïve Bayes Using Movie Reviews with Baseline Techniques显示文摘Movies are the better source of entertainment.Every year,a great percentage of movies are released.People comment on movies in the form of reviews after watching them.Since it is difficult to read all of the reviews for a movie,summarizing all of the reviews will help make this decision without wasting time in reading all of the reviews.Opinion mining also known as sentiment analysis is the process of extracting subjective information from textual data.Opinion mining involves identifying and extracting the opinions of individuals,which can be positive,neutral,or negative.The task of opinion mining also called sentiment analysis is performed to understand people’s emotions and attitudes in movie reviews.Movie reviews are an important source of opinion data because they provide insight into the general public’s opinions about a particular movie.The summary of all reviews can give a general idea about the movie.This study compares baseline techniques,Logistic Regression,Random Forest Classifier,Decision Tree,K-Nearest Neighbor,Gradient Boosting Classifier,and Passive Aggressive Classifier with Linear Support Vector Machines and Multinomial Naïve Bayes on the IMDB Dataset of 50K reviews and Sentiment Polarity Dataset Version 2.0.Before applying these classifiers,in pre-processing both datasets are cleaned,duplicate data is dropped and chat words are treated for better results.On the IMDB Dataset of 50K reviews,Linear Support Vector Machines achieve the highest accuracy of 89.48%,and after hyperparameter tuning,the Passive Aggressive Classifier achieves the highest accuracy of 90.27%,while Multinomial Nave Bayes achieves the highest accuracy of 70.69%and 71.04%after hyperparameter tuning on the Sentiment Polarity Dataset Version 2.0.This study highlights the importance of sentiment analysis as a tool for understanding the emotions and attitudes in movie reviews and predicts the performance of a movie based on the average sentiment of all the reviews.Mian Muhammad Danyal Sarwar Shah Khan Muzammil Khan Muhammad Bilal Ghaffar Bilal Khan Muhammad Arshad 2023Journal on Big Data2023,5,1:0
10Predictive modeling of COVID-19 death cases in Pakistan显示文摘Background:The world is presently facing the challenges posed by COVID-19(2019-nCoV),especially in the public health sector,and these challenges are dangerous to both health and life.The disease results in an acute respiratory infection that may result in pain and death.In Pakistan,the disease curve shows a vertical trend by almost 256K established cases of the diseases and 6035 documented death cases till August 5,2020.Objective:The primary purpose of this study is to provide the statistical model to predict the trend of COVID-19 death cases in Pakistan.The age and gender of COVID-19 victims were represented using a descriptive study.Method:ology:Three regression models,which include Linear,logarithmic,and quadratic,were employed in this study for the modelling of COVID-19 death cases in Pakistan.These three models were compared based on R2,Adjusted R2,AIC,and BIC criterions.The data utilized for the modelling was obtained from the National Institute of Health of Pakistan from February 26,2020 to August 5,2020.Conclusion:The finding deduced after the prediction modelling is that the rate of mortality would decrease by the end of October.The total number of deaths will reach its maximum point;then,it will gradually decrease.This indicates that the curve of total deaths will continue to be flat,i.e.,it will shift to be constant,which is also the upper bound of the underlying function of absolute death.Muhammad Daniyal Roseline Oluwaseun Ogundokun Khadijah Abid Muhammad Danyal Khan Opeyemi Eyitayo Ogundokun 2020Infectious Disease Modelling2020,5,1:0
