| 1 | Application of P507 and isooctanol extraction system in recovery of scandium from simulated red mud leach solution显示文摘The current recovery technique of Sc was complicated and the chemical consumption was high,This was due to the low content of Sc in resources and the difficulty of stripping.In this research,the isooctanol was added into the 2-ethylhexyl phosphonic acid mono-2-ethylhexyl ester(P507)extraction system to reduce the extraction and improve the stripping of Sc.The maximum stripping ratio of Sc from loaded organic phase by sulfuric acid can increase from 10%(without isooctanol)to 99%(with 15 vol%isooctanol).In the extraction test of the simulated red mud leaching liquor,the separation factors between Sc and Zr,Sc and Ti are 36 and 350,separately.At the same time,other metals are almost not extracted.The high selectivity and stripping of Sc suggest that the P507 with isooctanol extraction system can be applied in the practical Sc recovery process. | Chuanying Liu Li Chen Ji Chen Dan Zou Yuefeng Deng Deqian Li | 2019 | Journal of Rare Earths2019,37,9: | 22 |

| 3 | Kinetics of nitric acid leaching of cerium from oxidation roasted Baotou mixed rare earth concentrate显示文摘The kinetics of nitric acid leaching of cerium was investigated for the oxidation roasted Baotou mixed rare earth concentrate. The effects of leaching temperature, HNO_3 concentration, liquidesolid ratio(L/S)and stirring rate on rare earth extraction were studied. The XRD and SEM mapping analysis of the samples before and after acid leaching shows that the roasted bastnaesite is completely leached. Besides,the decomposition process of oxidizing roasting was also obtained by TGe MS and XRD. Different kinetics models were applied in this leaching process. The results of dynamic fitting show that the leaching process can be described by a new variant of the shrinking-core model. And the leaching rate is controlled by both the interfacial transfer and diffusion through the product layer. The apparent activation energy is calculated as 76.78 kJ/mol and the reaction orders with respect to HNO_3 concentrations and liquidesolid ratio are determined to be 7.609 and 2.516, respectively. | 4 | Dietary supplementation with a high dose of daidzein enhances the antioxidant capacity in swine muscle but experts pro-oxidant function in liver and fat tissues显示文摘Background: Although isoflavones are natural dietary antioxidants, they may have toxicological effects. This study aimed to evaluate the redox system in tissues of finishing pigs by supplementation with high dose of daidzein(640 mg/kg).Results: The supplementation of high dose of daidzein for 64 d increased the activity of superoxide dismutase and total antioxidant capacity in longissimus muscle but down-regulated the expression of reactive oxygen species(ROS)-producing enzyme NADPH oxidase-2 and cyclooxygenase-2. In contrast, high-level supplementation with daidzein exerted pro-oxidant changes in back fat, abdominal fat, liver, and plasma, as reflected by increased contents of malondialdehyde, a lipid peroxidation product, in these tissues. Furthermore, daidzein supplementation resulted in higher expression of ROS-producing enzymes, including NADPH oxidase-1 and cyclooxygenase-1in liver, 5-lipoxygenase(5-LOX) in backfat and NADPH oxidase-2 both in abdominal fat and backfat. | 5 | Effect of Landform on Seasonal Temperature Structures across China in the Past 52 Years显示文摘The data of 160 national meteorological observatory stations including the long-term monthly temperature data in China were analyzed to study the seasonal variation of the spatial temperature structures across China in the past half century. It is found that temperature structures differ between seasons: a latitude temperature pattern in winter and a landform temperature pattern in summer, which indicate that the effect of landform on temperature structure is much stronger in summer than that in winter and the effect of latitudinal temperature is much stronger in winter than that in summer. | 6 | Giant enhancement of magnetocaloric effect in metallic glass matrix composite显示文摘The magnetocaloric effect (MCE) has made great success in very low temperature refrigeration, which is highly desirable for application to the extended higher tem-perature range. Here we report the giant enhancement of MCE in the metallic glass composite. The large magnetic refrigerant capacity (RC) up to 103 J·kg-1 is more than double the RC of the well-known crystalline magnetic refrigerant compound Gd5Si2Ge1.9Fe0.1 (357 J·kg-1) and MnFeP0.45As0.55 (390 J·kg-1)(containing either ex-orbitant-cost Ge or poisonous As). The full width at half maximum of the magnetic entropy change (ΔSm) peak almost spreads over the whole low-temperature range (from 303 to 30 K), which is five times wider than that of the Gd5Si2Ge1.9Fe0.1 and pure Gd. The maximum ΔSm approaches a nearly constant value in a wide tem-perature span over 100 K, and however, such a broad table-like region near room temperature has seldom been found in alloys and compounds. | 7 | Toward an ideal electrical resistance strain gauge using a bare and single straight strand metallic glassy fiber显示文摘Electrical resistance strain gauges(SGs) are useful tools for experimental stress analysis and the strain sensing elements in many electromechanical transducers including load cells,pressure transducers,torque meters,accelerometers,force cells,displacement transducers and so forth.The commonly used commercial crystalline strain sensing materials of SGs are in the form of wire or foil of which performance and reliability is not good enough due to their low electrical resistivity and incapacity to get thin thickness.Smaller SGs with single straight strand strain sensing materials,which are called ideal SG,are highly desirable for more than seven decades since the first SG was invented.Here,we show the development of a type of minuscule length scale strain gauge by using a bare and single straight strand metallic glassy fiber(MGF) with high resistivity,much smaller lengthscale,high elastic limits(2.16%) and especially the super piezoresistance effect.We anticipate that our metallic glassy fiber strain gauge(MGFSG),which moves toward the ideal SGs,would have wide applications for electromechanical transducers and stress analysis and catalyze development of more micro-and nanoscale metallic glass applications. | YI Jun HUO LiShan ZHAO DeQian PAN MinXiang BAI HaiYang WANG WeiHua | 2012 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2012,55,4: | 4 |

The core-shell nanostructures with NH4Cl as core and TiO2·xH2O-NH4Cl as shell were prepared in nonaqueous system by the deposition on the surface of the aggregated NH4Cl crystals, which could be transformed into mesoporous anatase nanoparticles or hollow nanospheres by calcination at 500℃ or extraction with methanol, respectively. | 15 | Numerical and experimental study of the aerodynamic characteristics around two-dimensional terrain with different slope angles显示文摘Complicated terrain was considered and simplified as two-dimensional(2D)terrain in a dynamical downscaling model and a parametric wind field model for typhoons developed by the Shanghai Typhoon Institute.The 2D terrain was further modeled as uphill and downhill segments with various slope angles relative to the incoming flow.The wind speed ratios and pressure characteristics around the 2D terrain were numerically and experimentally investigated in this study.Aerodynamic characteristics of the 2D terrain with a limitedlength upper surface were first investigated in the wind tunnel with sheared incoming flow.The corresponding numerical investigation was also conducted by using the commercial computational fluid dynamics code FLUENT with the realizable k-ε turbulence model.Special efforts were made to maintain the inflow boundary conditions throughout the computational domain.Aerodynamic characteristics were then investigated for the ideal 2D terrain with an unlimited-length upper surface by using a numerical method with uniform incoming flow.Comparisons of the different terrain models and incoming flows from the above studies show that the wind pressure coefficients and the wind speed ratios are both affected by the slope angle.A negative peak value of the wind pressure coefficients exists at the escarpment point,where flow separation occurs,for the uphill and downhill terrain models with slope angles of 40°and 30°,respectively.Correspondingly,the streamwise wind speed ratios at the points above the escarpment point for the uphill terrain model increase with increasing slope angle,reach their peak values at the slope angle of a=40°and decrease when the slope angle increases further.For the downhill terrain model,similar trends exist at the points above the escarpment point with the exception that the critical slope angle is a=30°. | Pingzhi FANG Deqian ZHENG Liang LI Wenyong MA Shengming TANG | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,4: | 1 |
