| 1 | Antioxidant role of zinc in diabetes mellitus显示文摘Chronic hyperglycemia statue noticed in diabetes mellitus favors the manifestation of oxidative stress by increasing the production of reactive oxygen species and/or by reducing the antioxidant defense system activity.Zinc plays an important role in antioxidant defense in type2 diabetic patients by notably acting as a cofactor of the superoxide dismutase enzyme,by modulating the glutathione metabolism and metallothionein expression,by competing with iron and copper in the cell membrane and by inhibiting nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-oxidase enzyme.Zinc also improves the oxidative stress in these patients by reducing chronic hyperglycemia.It indeed promotes phosphorylation of insulin receptors by enhancing transport of glucose into cells.However,several studies reveal changes in zinc metabolism in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus and controversies remain regarding the effect of zinc supplementation in the improvement of oxidative stress in these patients.Faced with the serious challenge of the metabolic disorders related to oxidative stress in diabetes along with the importance of antioxidant nutrients in the control of this disease,new studies may contribute to improve our understanding of the role played by zinc against oxidative stress and its connection with type 2 diabetes mellitus prognosis.This could serve as a prelude to the development of prevention strategies and treatment of disorders associated with this chronic disease. | Kyria Jayanne Clímaco Cruz Ana Raquel Soares de Oliveira Dilina do Nascimento Marreiro | 2015 | World Journal of Diabetes2015,6,2: | 4 |

| 11 | Rockburst mechanism and the law of energy accumulation and release in mining roadway: a case study显示文摘The rockburst dynamic disasters in the process of deep coal mining become more and more serious.Taking the rockburst occurred in the 23130 working face of Yuejin Coal Mine as the engineering background,we study the characteristics of mining stress feld around roadway,the plastic failure morphological characteristics of surrounding rock and the accumulation/release law of elastic energy before and after burst.An analysis model quantitatively describing the physical process of rockburst in the mining roadway is established,and the calculation method of dynamic release of elastic energy in the physical process of rockburst is educed.The mechanism of rockburst in mining roadway is revealed.The results show that an“L-shaped”stress concentration zone is formed within 100 m of the 23130 working face,and the principal stress ratio of the surrounding rock of the transportation roadway is 2.59–4.26.The change of the direction of the maximum principal stress has a signifcant efect on the burst appearance characteristics.The failure strength of diferent sections of the mining roadway is characterized by the elastic energy release value.With the increase of the working face distance,the elastic energy released by burst failure and the expansion variation of failure boundary radius show a nonlinear variation law that tends to decrease steadily after sharp fuctuation.The closer to the working face,the higher the burst risk.At a distance of 10 m from the working surface,the maximum principal stress reaches its maximum value.The butterfy-shaped failure system generated by the surrounding rock of the roadway has energy self-sustainability,and the elastic energy released by the sudden expansion of the butterfy leaf is enough to cause a burst damage of 1.9 magnitude.This work could provide theoretical support for the prediction and prevention of rockburst. | Feng Du Ji Ma Xiaofei Guo Tianfeng Wang Xiaohang Dong Jiashuo Li Shulei He Dilinaer Nuerjuma | 2022 | International Journal of Coal Science & Technology2022,9,5: | 1 |
| 12 | DZ2002 alleviates corneal angiogenesis and inflammation in rodent models of dry eye disease via regulating STAT3-PI3K-Akt-NF-kB pathway显示文摘Dry eye disease(DED)is a prevalent ocular disorder with a multifactorial etiology.The pre-angiogenic and pre-inflammatory milieu of the ocular surface plays a critical role in its pathogenesis.DZ2002 is a reversible type Il S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine hydrolase(SAHH)inhibitor,which has shown excellent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activities in vivo and in vitro.In this study,we evaluated the therapeutic potential of DZ2002 in rodent models of DED.SCOP-induced dry eye models were established in female rats and mice,while BAC-induced dry eye model was established in female rats.DZ2002 was administered as eye drops(0.25%,1%)four times daily(20μL per eye)for 7 or 14 consecutive days.We showed that topical application of Dz2002 concentration-dependently reduced corneal neovascularization and corneal opacity,as well as alleviated conjunctival irritation in both DED models.Furthermore,we observed that DZ2002 treatment decreased the expression of genes associated with angiogenesis and the levels of inflammation in the cornea and conjunctiva.Moreover,DZ2002 treatment in the BAC-induced DED model abolished the activation of the STAT3-PI3K-Akt-NF-kB pathways in corneal tissues.We also found that DZ2002 significantly inhibited the proliferation,migration,and tube formation of human umbilical endothelial cells(HUVECs)while downregulating the activation of the STAT3-PI3K-Akt-NF-kB pathway.These results suggest that DZ2002 exerts a therapeutic effect on corneal angiogenesis in DED,potentially by preventing the upregulation of the STAT3-PI3K-Akt-NF-kB pathways.Collectively,DZ2002 is a promising candidate for ophthalmic therapy,particularly in treating DED. | Chun-mei Wu Jia-wen Mao Jin-zhi Zhu Can-can Xie Jia-ying Yao Xiao-qian Yang Mai Xiang Yifan He Xiao Tong Dilinaer Litifu Xiao-yu Xiong Meng-nan Cheng Feng-hua Zhu Shijun He Ze-min Lin Jian-ping Zuo | 2024 | Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2024,45,1: | 0 |
