| 3 | Immunofluorescence on paraffin embedded renal biopsies:Experience of a tertiary care center with review of literature显示文摘AIM To describe the technique of immunofluorescence on paraffin embedded tissue sections and discuss the potential pitfalls with an in depth review of literature.METHODS Immunofluorescence is integral to diagnostic renal pathology. Immunofluorescence on paraffin embedded renal biopsies(IF-P) after enzyme treatment has been described in literature, however has not found widespread use in renal pathology laboratories. In our laboratory proteinase K digestion of paraffin embedded renal biopsy material was standardized and applied prospectively in cases where immunofluorescence on fresh frozen tissue was non contributory or not possible. Diagnostic utility was assessed and in a cohort of cases comparison of intensity of staining with routine immunofluorescence was performed. RESULTS Over the 5-year study period, of the 3141 renal biopsies received IF-P was performed on 246 cases(7.7%) and was interpretable with optimal digestion in 214 cases(6.8%). It was of diagnostic utility in the majority of cases, which predominantly included glomerular disease. Nondiagnostic IF-P was found in membranous nephropathy(2 of 11 cases), membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis(2 of 32 cases), lupus nephritis(1 of 25 cases), post infectious glomerulonephritis(1 of 11 cases) and chronic glomerulonephritis(3 of 8 cases). Comparing cases with both routine IF and IF-P, 35 of 37 showed either equal intensity or a minor difference in intensity of staining(1+) for the diagnostic immunoglobulin/complement. Technically assessment of immunofluorescence on the paraffin embedded tissue was found to be easier with clearly observed morphology, however a false positive staining pattern was observed in under-digested tissue. | 4 | Design and development of a high-performance Ni-based superalloy WSU 150 for additive manufacturing显示文摘This research proposes a design and development strategy of a new nickel-based superalloy for additive manufacturing.A new Ni-based superalloy has been developed by the application of the combinatorial alloy development technique coupled with CALPHAD based solidification modeling by effectively suppressing the precipitation kinetics.The suppression of precipitation during processing paved a way for prevention of cracks during deposition.The new alloy 'WSU 150' revealed excellent room temperature mechanical properties with a yield strength of 867 MPa,an ultimate tensile strength of 1188 MPa,and an elongation of 27.9% in the as-deposited condition.The mechanical properties of the heat-treated alloy were improved significantly to 1114 MPa yield strength,1396 MPa ultimate tensile strength,and an elongation of 16.1%.Improvement in the mechanical properties is attributed to the additional precipitation and coarsening of γ’ and carbides during heat-treatment.Microstructural investigation of the alloy revealed spherical γ’ with a rippled size distribution from the center to the interdendritic region.The average size of the γ’ particles in the as-deposited condition was found to be around 48 nm in the interdendritic region.Heat-treatment promoted the coarsening of γ’ which is explained in the paper. | Praveen Sreeramagiri Ajay Bhagavatam Abhishek Ramakrishnan Husam Alrehaili Guru Prasad Dinda | 2020 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2020，47，12： | 2 |
| 5 | Improvement in the dissolution rate and tableting properties of cefuroxime axetil by melt-granulated dispersion and surface adsorption显示文摘A combination of melt-granulated dispersion and surface adsorption techniques was used to enhance the dissolution and tableting properties of cefuroxime axetil(CA).Gelucire 50/13 was used as the melt-dispersion carrier and Sylysia 350 was used to adsorb the melt dispersion.Solubility studies showed an 8-fold increase in solubility at a ratio of 1:1.5 for CA:Gelucire 50/13.The minimum quantity of Sylysia 350 required to achieve the desired flowability and compressibility was 0.5 parts of Sylysia 350 per unit of Gelucire 50/13.Phase solubility studies showed negative ΔG_(tr)^(0) values for Gelucire 50/13 at various concentrations(2-10%,vv/v),indicating the spontaneous nature of solubilization.FT-IR and DSC spectra exhibited drug-excipient compatibility.Molecular modeling by a computational method employing energy minimization revealed entrapment of CA in Gelucire 50/13.The total potential energy of CA(70.562 keal/mol)was reduced to 33.578 keal/mol after solid dispersion with Gelucire 50/13.P-XRD studies indicated that the presence of Sylysia 350 is less likely to promote the reversion of the amorphous CA to a crystalline state.In vitro dissolution studies demonstrated an improved dissolution rate,and drug release at 15 min(Q_(15min))exhibited a 15-fold improvement.The rapidly dissolving CA tablets showed improved dissolution with improved tableting properties. | Jammula Sruti Chinam Niranjan Patra Suryakanta Swain Kanhu Charan Panigrahi Allupati Premananda Patro Sarwar Beg Subas Chandra Dinda Muddana Eswara Bhanoji Rao | 2013 | Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B2013，3，2： | 2 |
| 6 | DelayD roid: an instrumented approach to reducing tail-time energy of Android apps显示文摘Mobile devices with 3G/4G networking often waste energy in the so-called 'tail time' during which the radio is kept on even though no communication is occurring. Prior work has proposed policies to reduce this energy waste by batching network requests. However, this work is challenging to apply in practice due to a lack of mechanisms. In response, we have developed DelayD roid, a framework that allows a developer to add the needed policy to existing, unmodified Android applications(apps) with no human effort as well as no SDK/OS changes. This allows such prior work(as well as our own policies) to be readily deployed and evaluated. The DelayD roid compile-time uses static analysis and bytecode refactoring to identify method calls that send network requests and modify such calls to detour them to the DelayD roid run-time. The run-time then applies a policy to batch them, avoiding the tail time energy waste. DelayD roid also includes a cross-app communication mechanism that supports policies that optimize across multiple apps running together, and we propose a policy that does so. We evaluated the correctness and universality of the DelayD roid mechanisms on14 popular Android apps chosen from the Google App Store.
