| 8 | Methods Used to Reduce Bullying in Kindergarten from Teachers’ Perspectives显示文摘This study identified the methods used by kindergarten teachers to reduce bullying among their students in and out of the classroom and examined differences based on the teachers’years of experience and the number of courses on bullying they had taken.A descriptive survey using a questionnaire tool collected responses from 208 public kindergarten teachers in Riyadh,Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.The participants agreed with using such methods to reduce bullying among children as responding to parents’reports and following up on the reasons for a child’s absence.They also agreed that bullying in the classroom could be reduced by methods such as avoiding comparisons between children and helping to build friendships among them.Moreover,the teachers agreed to use some methods in which the teacher relies on her authority,such as depriving the bully of play time and transfer-ring him/her to another class.These methods were endorsed more strongly by teachers with at least 10 years of experience than by those with less experience,but no significant difference was observed according to the number of bullying courses taken.In addition,there is a lack of courses that focus on dealing with and confronting bully-ing in educational environments.The study highlights the need to provide teachers with training on how to deal with bullying and to set specific and clear policies on addressing bullying in kindergarten. | Lina Bashatah Duaa Al-fifi | 2023 | International Journal of Mental Health Promotion2023,25,5: | 0 |
| 9 | An Optimal Distribution of RSU for Improving Self-Driving Vehicle Connectivity显示文摘Self-driving and semi-self-driving cars play an important role in our daily lives.The effectiveness of these cars is based heavily on the use of their surrounding areas to collect sensitive and vital information.However,external infrastructures also play significant roles in the transmission and reception of control data,cooperative awareness messages,and caution notifications.In this case,roadside units are considered one of themost important communication peripherals.Random distribution of these infrastructures will overburden the spread of self-driving vehicles in terms of cost,bandwidth,connectivity,and radio coverage area.In this paper,a new distributed roadside unit is proposed to enhance the performance and connectivity of these cars.Therefore,this approach is based primarily on k-means to find the optimal location of each roadside unit.In addition,this approach supports dynamicmobility with a long period of connectivity for each car.Further,this system can adapt to various locations(e.g.,highways,rural areas,urban environments).The simulation results of the proposed system are reflected in its efficiency and effectively.Thus,the system can achieve a high connectivity rate with a low error rate while reducing costs. | Khattab Alheeti Abdulkareem Alaloosy Haitham Khalaf Abdulkareem Alzahrani Duaa Al_Dosary | 2022 | Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,2: | 0 |
| 10 | Experimental studies on curling development of artificial soils显示文摘Soil curling is an important phenomenon associated with volume changes induced by increasing soil suction upon desiccation.The study of soil behaviors associated with drying in soils(e.g.soil shrinkage,desiccation cracks and curling)has received increasing attention over the last few years,which has been mainly driven by the forecast climate change that will warm up our planet.There are significant gaps in the current knowledge related to the factors that control the development of curling deformations in soils.For this,the curling phenomenon is investigated through laboratory desiccation tests on different mixtures of artificial soils.The effects of soil grain size distribution,mineralogy,soil microstructure,and soil water content on the curling deformation are analyzed.Digital photos were taken at regular time intervals during the tests to understand the volume changes in the soil samples during drying.It is found that soil fabric and soil water content have significant effects on curling scenario.It is observed that the percentage of sand particles and the initial water content play a critical role in the development of soil curling.Samples of pure clayey minerals experienced shrinkage without or with minor curling during drying. | Duaa Al-Jeznawi Marcelo Sanchez Abbas J.Al-Taie Marcin Zielinski | 2019 | Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2019,11,6: | 0 |
| 11 | Agmatine ameliorates diabetes type 2-induced nephropathy in rats显示文摘Objective:To assess the nephroprotective potential of agmatine in a rat model of streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy.Methods:A single dose of streptozotocin(40 mg/kg)coupled with a fructose diet induced diabetes in Wistar rats.Agmatine(40 and 80 mg/kg)was administered to rats for 12 weeks.The body weight and fasting blood glucose were measured weekly.Insulin level,urine output,total protein,albumin,blood urea nitrogen,creatinine,and cystatin-C were also determined at the end of the experiment.Furthermore,superoxide dismutase,glutathione,interleukin-1β,interleukin-6,and tumor necrosis factor-alpha were evaluated in kidney tissue.Histopathological study was also performed using hematoxylin and eosin staining.Results:Agmatine at both doses significantly increased final body weight,and lowered fasting blood glucose,urine output,insulin,total protein,albumin,blood urea nitrogen,creatinine,and cystatin-C levels compared with the diabetic group(P<0.05).Inflammatory markers and antioxidant effect were significantly improved in agmatine-treated rats.Moreover,the histopathological changes in renal structure were ameliorated by agmatine treatment.Conclusions:Agmatine alleviates diabetic nephropathy by improving renal functions and reducing inflammation and oxidative stress.The molecular mechanisms of its nephroprotective actions need to be investigated in future study. | Fatemah O.Kamel Ohoud Shagroud Mai AAlim A.Sattar Ahmad Gamal S Abd El-Aziz Abdulhadi S.Burzangi Duaa Bakhshwin Maha Jamal Shahid Karim | 2024 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Biomedicine2024,14,1: | 0 |
| 12 | Breast Cancer Diagnosis Using Artificial Intelligence Approaches: A Systematic Literature Review显示文摘One of the most prevalent cancers in women is breast cancer.Early and accurate detection can decrease the mortality rate associated with breast cancer.Governments and health organizations emphasize the significance of early breast cancer screening since it is associated to a greater variety of available treatments and a higher chance of survival.Patients have the best chance of obtaining effective treatment when they are diagnosed early.The detection and diagnosis of breast cancer have involved using various image types and imaging modalities.Breast“infrared thermal”imaging is one of the imaging modalities.,a screening instrument used to measure the temperature distribution of breast tissue,and even though it has not been used as extensively as mammography it demonstrated encouraging outcomes when utilized for early detection.It also has several advantages,as it is safe,painless,non-invasive,and inexpensive.The literature showed that the use of thermal images with deep neural networks improved the accuracy of early diagnosis of breast malformations.Therefore,in this paper,we aim to provide a systematic review of research efforts and state-of-the-art studies in the domain of breast cancer detection using AI techniques.The review highlighted different issues,such as using different imaging modalities and deep attention mechanisms with deep learning(DL),which proved to enhance detection accuracy. | Alia Alshehri Duaa AlSaeed | 2023 | Intelligent Automation & Soft Computing2023,,7: | 0 |
