| 1 | Diagnosis,treatment and prevention of type 2 diabetes mellitus in children and adolescents显示文摘During the last two decades,there have been several reports of an increasing incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2 DM) in children and adolescents,especially among those belonging to minority ethnic groups.This trend,which parallels the increases in prevalence and degree of pediatric obesity,has caused great concern,even though T2 DM remains a relatively rare disease in children.Youth T2 DM differs not only from type 1 diabetes in children,from which it is sometimes difficult to differentiate,but also from T2 DM in adults,since it appears to be an aggressive disease with rapidly progressive β-cell decline,high treatment failure rate,and accelerated development of complications.Despite the recent research,many aspects of youth T2 DM still remain unknown,regarding both its pathophysiology and risk factor contribution,and its optimal management and prevention.Current management approaches include lifestyle changes,such as improved diet and increased physical activity,together with pharmacological interventions,including metformin,insulin,and the recently approved glucagonlike peptide-1 analog liraglutide.What is more important for everyone to realize though,from patients,families and physicians to schools,health services and policy-makers alike,is that T2 DM is a largely preventable disease that will be addressed effectively only if its major contributor(i.e.,pediatric obesity) is confronted and prevented at every possible stage of life,from conception until adulthood.Therefore,relevant comprehensive,coordinated,and innovative strategies are urgently needed. | Anastasios Serbis Vasileios Giapros Eleni P Kotanidou Assimina Galli-Tsinopoulou Ekaterini Siomou | 2021 | World Journal of Diabetes2021，12，4： | 4 |

| 3 | Translation and validation of the Greek chronic liver disease questionnaire显示文摘AIM:To translate into Greek and validate the chronic liver disease questionnaire (CLDQ).METHODS:Two hundred and six consecutive adult patients with the diagnosis of a chronic liver disease from 2 general hospitals in Athens were enrolled in the study from May to September 2008.In order to assess their quality of life (QOL) the CLDQ was applied.The instrument was translated from English,back translated and reviewed in focus groups within the framework of a large multicenter study.The measurements that were performed included:2 independent sample t tests,oneway analysis of variance,reliability coefficients,explanatory factor analysis using a varimax rotation and the principal components method.RESULTS:One hundred and twenty five (61%) patients were men,half were aged 40-59 years and > 33% were > 60 years old.Among the patients,48 (23%) were hospitalized and 97 (47%) were cirrhotic according to the Child-Pugh score.The internal consistency of the Greek CLDQ version using Cronbach's alpha coefficient was found to be 0.93.Exploratory factor analysis identified 7 domains accounting for 65% of the variance of CLDQ items and only partially overlapping with those found in the original version.The area under the receiver operating characteristics curve was calculated at 0.813 and the logistic estimate for the threshold score of 167.50 provided a sensitivity of 74.3% and a specificity of 71.6% for the model.CONCLUSION:Our data confirmed the validity of the Greek version of the CLDQ in identifying the QOL among patients with chronic liver disease. | Zoi Kollia Evridiki Patelarou Victoria Vivilaki Eleni Kollia Florentia Kefou Ioannis Elefsiniotis Spyros P Dourakis Hero Brokalaki | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，46： | 2 |
