| 2 | Pancreatic and pulmonary mast cells activation during experimental acute pancreatitis显示文摘AIM:To study the activation of pancreatic and pulmonary mast cells and the effect of mast cell inhibition on the activation of peritoneal and alveolar macrophages during acute pancreatitis.METHODS:Pancreatitis was induced by intraductal infusion of 5% sodium taurodeoxycholate in rats.The mast cell inhibitor cromolyn was administered intraperitoneally(i.p.) 30 min before pancreatitis induction.The pancreatic and pulmonary tissue damage was evaluated histologically and mast cells and their state of activation were evaluated.Peritoneal and alveolar macrophages were obtained and the expression of tumor necrosis factor α was determined.Myeloperoxidase activity was measured to evaluate the effect of mast cell inhibition on the progression of the inflammatory process.Finally,the effect of plasma on cultured mast cells or macrophages was evaluated in vitro.RESULTS:The mast cell stabilizer signif icantly reduced inflammation in the pancreas and lung and the activation of alveolar macrophages but had no effect on peritoneal macrophages.Mast cell degranulation was observed in the pancreas during pancreatitis but no changes were observed in the lung.Plasma from rats with pancreatitis could activate alveolar macrophages but did not induce degranulation of mast cells in vitro.CONCLUSION:Pancreatic mast cells play an important role in triggering the local and systemic inflammatory response in the early stages of acute pancreatitis.In contrast,lung mast cells are not directly involved in the inflammatory response related to pancreatic damage. | Inmaculada Lopez-Font Sabrina Gea-Sorlí Enrique de-Madaria Luis M Gutiérrez Miguel Pérez-Mateo Daniel Closa | 2010 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2010，16，27： | 10 |
| 3 | Presacral venous bleeding during mobilization in rectal cancer显示文摘AIM To analyze the anatomy of sacral venous plexus flow, the causes of injuries and the methods for controlling presacral hemorrhage during surgery for rectal cancer.METHODS A review of the databases MEDLINE? and Embase? was conducted, and relevant scientific articles published between January 1960 and June 2016 were examined. The anatomy of the sacrum and its venous plexus, as well as the factors that influence bleeding, the causes of this complication, and its surgical management were defined.RESULTS This is a review of 58 published articles on presacral venous plexus injury during the mobilization of the rectum and on techniques used to treat presacral venous bleeding. Due to the lack of cases published in the literature, there is no consensus on which is the best technique to use if there is presacral bleeding during mobilization in surgery for rectal cancer. | 5 | Neuroprotective effects of meloxicam on transient brain ischemia in rats:the two faces of anti-inflammatory treatments显示文摘The inflammato ry response plays an important role in neuroprotection and regeneration after ischemic insult.The use of non-ste roidal anti-inflammatory drugs has been a matter of debate as to whether they have beneficial or detrimental effects.In this context,the effects of the anti-inflammatory agent meloxicam have been scarcely documented after stro ke,but its ability to inhibit both cyclooxygenase isoforms(1 and 2) could be a promising strategy to modulate postischemic inflammation.This study analyzed the effect of meloxicam in a transient focal cerebral ischemia model in rats,measuring its neuroprotective effect after 48 hours and 7 days of reperfusion and the effects of the treatment on the glial scar and regenerative events such as the generation of new progenitors in the subventricular zone and axonal sprouting at the edge of the damaged area.We show that meloxicam’s neuroprotective effects remained after 7 days of reperfusion even if its administration was restricted to the two first days after ischemia.Moreover,meloxicam treatment modulated glial scar reactivity,which matched with an increase in axonal sprouting.However,this treatment decreased the formation of neuronal progenitor cells.This study discusses the dual role of anti-inflammatory treatments after stro ke and encourages the careful analysis of both the neuroprotective and the regenerative effects in preclinical studies. | Irene Fernández Ugidos Paloma González-Rodríguez María Santos-Galdiano Enrique Font-Belmonte Berta Anuncibay-Soto Diego Pérez-Rodríguez JoséManuel Gonzalo-Orden Arsenio Fernández-López | 2023 | Neural Regeneration Research2023，18，9： | 3 |
| 6 | rate of adverse events of gastroduodenal snare polypectomy for non-flat polyp is low: A prospective and multicenter study显示文摘AIM To evaluate the rate of adverse events(AEs) during consecutive gastric and duodenal polypectomies in several Spanish centers. METHODS Polypectomies of protruded gastric or duodenal polyps ≥ 5 mm using hot snare were prospectively included. Prophylactic measures of hemorrhage were allowed in predefined cases. AEs were defined and graded according to the lexicon recommended by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Patients were followed for 48 h, one week and 1 mo after theprocedure. RESULTS308 patients were included and a single polypectomy was performed in 205. Only 36(11.7%) were on prior anticoagulant therapy. Mean polyp size was 15 ± 8.9 mm(5-60) and in 294 cases(95.4%) were located in the stomach. Hemorrhage prophylaxis was performed in 219(71.1%) patients. Nine patients presented AEs(2.9%), and 6 of them were bleeding(n = 6, 1.9%)(in 5 out of 6 AE, different types of endoscopic treatment were performed). Other 24 hemorrhagic episodes could be managed without any change in the outcome of the endoscopy and, consequently, were considered incidents.
