1Simulation of underexpanded supersonic jet flows with chemical reactions显示文摘To achieve a detailed understanding of underexpanded supersonic jet structures influenced by afterburning and other flow conditions, the underexpanded turbulent supersonic jet with and without combustions are investigated by computational fluid dynamics(CFD) method.A program based on a total variation diminishing(TVD) methodology capable of predicting complex shocks is created to solve the axisymmetric expanded Navier–Stokes equations containing transport equations of species. The finite-rate ratio model is employed to handle species sources in chemical reactions. CFD solutions indicate that the structure of underexpanded jet is typically influenced by the pressure ratio and afterburning. The shock reflection distance and maximum value of Mach number in the first shock cell increase with pressure ratio. Chemical reactions for the rocket exhaust mostly exist in the mixing layer of supersonic jet flows. 2Effects of Double Harvesting on Heavy Metal Uptake by Six Forage Species and the Potential for Phytoextraction in Field显示文摘The pollution of soils by heavy metals has dramatically increased in recent decades. Phytoextraction is a technology that extracts elements from polluted soils using hyperaccumulator plants. The selection of appropriate plant materials is an important factor for successful phytoextraction in field. A field study was conducted to compare the efficiency of six high-biomass forage species in their phytoextraction of heavy metals(Cd, Pb, and Zn) from contaminated soil under two harvesting strategies(double harvesting or single harvesting). Among the tested plants, amaranth accumulated the greatest amounts of Cd and Zn, whereas Rumex K^(-1) had the highest amount of Pb in the shoot under both double and single harvesting. Furthermore, double harvesting significantly increased the shoot biomass of amaranth, sweet sorghum and sudangrass and resulted in higher heavy metal contents in the shoot. Under double harvesting, the total amounts of extracted Cd, Pb and Zn(i.e., in the first plus second crops) for amaranth were 945, 2 650 and 12 400 g ha^(-1), respectively, the highest recorded among the six plant species. The present results indicate that amaranth has great potential for the phytoextraction of Cd from contaminated soils. 3Formation and Optical Properties of ZnO:ZnFe_(2)O_(4) Superlattice Microwires显示文摘Pure ZnO hexagonal microwires and Fe(Ⅲ)-doped ZnO microwires(MWs)with a novel rectangular cross section were synthesized in a confined chamber by a convenient one-step thermal evaporation method.An oriented attachment mechanism is consistent with a vapor-solid growth process.Photoluminescence(PL)and Raman spectroscopy of the Fe(Ⅲ)-doped ZnO MWs and in situ spectral mappings indicate a quasi-periodic distribution of Fe(Ⅲ)along a one-dimensional(1-D)superlattice ZnO:ZnFe_(2)O_(4) wire,while PL mapping shows the presence of optical multicavities and related multimodes.The PL spectra at room temperature show weak near-edge doublets(376 nm and 383 nm)and a broad band(450-650 nm)composed of strong discrete lines,due to a 1-D photonic crystal structure.Such a 1-D coupled optical cavity material may find many applications in future photonic and spintronic devices.Yun Li Guozhang Dai Chunjiao Zhou Qinglin Zhang Qiang Wan Limin Fu Jianping Zhang Ruibin Liu Chuanbao Cao Anlian Pan Yunhong Zhang Bingsuo Zou 2010Nano Research2010,3,5:2

11Signal enhancement of the laser-induced plasma in the soil mixed with carbon显示文摘An experimental investigation of the carbon concentration effects on the emission intensity has been carried out using laserinduced plasma spectroscopy. The results show that the intensity of Ca II 393.367 nm and 396.847 nm characteristic lines emitted in the sample with the carbon concentration of 25% is about five times larger than that in the pure soil sample. It can be attributed to the high heat transfer coefficient and low ionization potentials of carbon in the system.
