1Locating Parent Lightning Strokes of Sprites Observed over a Mesoscale Convective System in Shandong Province,China显示文摘In this paper, we report the location results for the parent lightning strokes of more than 30 red sprites observed over an asymmetric mesoscale convective system(MCS) on 30 July 2015 in Shandong Province, China, with a long-baseline lightning location network of very-low-frequency/low-frequency magnetic field sensors. The results show that almost all of these cloud-to-ground(CG) strokes are produced during the mature stage of the MCS, and are predominantly located in the trailing stratiform region, which is similar to analyses of sprite-productive MCSs in North America and Europe. Comparison between the location results for the sprite-producing CG strokes and those provided by the World Wide Lightning Location Network(WWLLN) indicates that the location accuracy of WWLLN for intense CG strokes in Shandong Province is typically within 10 km, which is consistent with the result based on analysis of 2838 sprite-producing CG strokes in the continental United States. 2Characteristics and significance of the penecontemporaneous karst in lacustrine carbonate, Da'anzhai Member, Lower Jurassic, Beibei area, eastern Sichuan Basin显示文摘There are few reports about the penecontemporaneous karst of the lacustrine carbonate of Da'anzhai Member which developed on the top of Lower Jurassic Ziliujing Formation,eastern Sichuan Basin.Based on the analysis of the macroscopic and microscopic characteristics of Heping Reservoir section in Beibei area,It is discovered that the penecontemporaneous karst in the lacustrine carbonate,Da'anzhai Member,and its characters as follows:(1)The dissolved fractures and karrens are common,which have been filled with vadose silts,bioclasts,terrigenous quartzes,crystal and intergrown calcites;(2)The penecontemporaneous karstification mainly occurs in the micrites and shell limestones of the middle and upper part of the shallowing-upward sequence,and the desiccation cracks occur in some shallowing-upward sequences;(3)Three meteoric-water diagenetic lenses are identified in this section.By further study we also find the factures,stylolite and burial dissolution pores occur along the karst system(tubes,conduits and caves of the karst).And the asphalt not only fills the stylolites and fractures,but also is mixed with the vadose silt in the karst system,although the pore space formed by penecontemporaneous karstification is filled with vadose material and cements.Therefore it is concluded that the development and modification of the tight lacustrine carbonate reservoir of Da'anzhai Member,to some extent,are relevant with the penecontemporaneous karstification,and the penecontemporaneous karst reservoir may develop in the buried Da'anzhai carbonate of the basin.Chengpeng Su Xiucheng Tan Kailan Shi Juan Zou Feifan Lu Sicong Luo Hao Tang Xinyu Zhang 2017Petroleum2017,3,3:5
3High-efficiency green micro-LEDs with GaN tunnel junctions grown hybrid by PA-MBE and MOCVD显示文摘We fabricated p-i-n tunnel junction(TJ)contacts for hole injection on c-plane green micro-light-emitting diodes(micro-LEDs)by a hybrid growth approach using plasma-assisted molecular beam epitaxy(PA-MBE)and metal–organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD).The TJ was formed by an MBE-grown ultra-thin unintentionally doped In Ga N polarization layer and an n^(++)∕n^(+)-GaN layer on the activated p^(++)-Ga N layer prepared by MOCVD.This hybrid growth approach allowed for the realization of a steep doping interface and ultrathin depletion width for efficient inter-band tunneling.Compared to standard micro-LEDs,the TJ micro-LEDs showed a reduced device resistance,enhanced electroluminescence intensity,and a reduced efficiency droop.The size-independent J-V characteristics indicate that TJ could serve as an excellent current spreading layer.All these results demonstrated that hybrid TJ contacts contributed to the realization of high-performance micro-LEDs with long emission wavelengths.YAOZHENG WU BIN LIU FEIFAN XU YIMENG SANG TAO TAO ZILI XIE KE WANG XIANGQIAN XIU PENG CHEN DUNJUN CHEN HAI LU RONG ZHANG YOUDOU ZHENG 2021Photonics Research2021,9,9:2
4Triangulation of red sprites observed above a mesoscale convective system in North China显示文摘The triangulation of red sprites was obtained, based on concurrent observations over a mesoscale convective system(MCS) in North China from two stations separated by about 450 km. In addition, broadband sferics from the sprite-producing lightning were measured at five ground stations, making it possible to locate and identify the individual causative lightning discharges for different elements in this dancing sprite event. The results of our analyses indicate that the sprites were produced above the trailing stratiform region of the MCS, and their parent strokes were located mainly in the peripheral area of the stratiform. The lateral offset between sprites and causative strokes ranges from a few km to more than 50 km. 5Reconstruction and petroleum geological significance of lithofacies paleogeography and paleokarst geomorphology of the Middle Permian Maokou Formation in northwestern Sichuan Basin,SW China显示文摘Based on analysis of outcrop,drilling,logging and seismic data,and geotectonic background,the lithofacies paleogeography and paleokarst geomorphology of the Middle Permian Maokou Formation in the northwestern Sichuan Basin were reconstructed,and the petroleum geological significance of the lithofacies paleogeography and paleokarst geomorphology were discussed.The Maokou Formation is divided into 3 long-term cycles,namely LSCl,LSC2 and LSC3,which correspond to the Member 1,Member 2 and Member 3 of the Maokou Formation,respectively.Controlled by the extensional structure caused by opening of the Mianlue Ocean in the north margin of the upper Yangtze blocks and basement faults produced by mantle plume uplifting,the area had tectonic differentiation in NWW and NE,and sedimentary basement took on episodic settlement from north to south,as a result,the sedimentary systems of Member 1 to Member 3 gradually evolved from carbonate platform to platform-slope-continental shelf.According to the residual thickness,paleokarst geomorphologic units such as karst highland,karst slope and karst depression at different stages were reconstructed.The karst geomorphological units were developed successively on the basis of sedimentary geomorphology.Sedimentary facies and paleokarst geomorphology are of great significance for oil and gas accumulation.The Maokou Formation in northwestern Sichuan has two kinds of most favorable reservoir zone combinations:high energy grain shoal and karst monadnock,platform margin slope and karst slope.Based on this understanding,the planar distribution of the two kinds of reservoir zones were predicted by overlapping the favorable reservoir facies belt with paleokarst geomorphology.The study results provide a new idea and reference for the exploration deployment of the Middle Permian Maokou Formation in the Sichuan Basin.ZHONG Yuan YANG Yueming WEN Long LUO Bing XIAO Di LI Minglong CHEN Cong ZHAO Like LU Feifan TAN Xiucheng 2021Petroleum Exploration and Development2021,48,1:1
6Regulation of Thermogenesis in Plants:The Interaction of Alternative Oxidase and Plant Uncoupling Mitochondrial Protein显示文摘Thermogenesis is a process of heat production in living organisms.It is rare in plants,but it does occur in some species of angiosperm.The heat is generated via plant mitochondrial respiration.As possible involvement in thermogenesis of mitochondrial factors,alternative ox-idases(AOXs) and plant uncoupling mitochondrial proteins(PUMPs) have been well studied.AOXs and PUMPs are ubiquitously present in the inner membrane of plant mitochondria.They serve as two major energy dissipation systems that balance mitochondrial respiration and uncoupled phosphorylation by dissipating the H+ redox energy and proton electrochemical gradient(μH+) as heat,respectively.AOXs and PUMPs exert similar physiological functions during homeothermic heat production in thermogenic plants.AOXs have five isoforms,while PUMPs have six.Both AOXs and PUMPs are encoded by small nuclear multigene families.Multiple isoforms are expressed in different tissues or organs.Extensive studies have been done in the area of thermogenesis in higher plants.In this review,we focus on the involvement and regulation of AOXs and PUMPs in thermogenesis.Yan Zhu Jianfei Lu Jing Wang Fu Chen Feifan Leng Hongyu Li 2011Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2011,53,1:1
7Hydrophobic aerogel-modified hemostatic gauze with thermal management performance显示文摘Current hemostatic agents or dressings are not efficient under extremely hot and cold environments due to deterioration of active ingredients,water evaporation and ice crystal growth.To address these challenges,we engineered a biocompatible hemostatic system with thermoregulatory properties for harsh conditions by combining the asymmetric wetting nano-silica aerogel coated-gauze(AWNSA@G)with a layer-by-layer(LBL)structure.Our AWNSA@G was a dressing with a tunable wettability prepared by spraying the hydrophobic nano-silica aerogel onto the gauze from different distances.The hemostatic time and blood loss of the AWNSA@G were 5.1 and 6.9 times lower than normal gauze in rat’s injured femoral artery model.Moreover,the modified gauze was torn off after hemostasis without rebleeding,approximately 23.8 times of peak peeling force lower than normal gauze.For the LBL structure,consisting of the nano-silica aerogel layer and a n-octadecane phase change material layer,in both hot(70℃)and cold(-27℃)environments,exhibited dual-functional thermal management and maintained a stable internal temperature.We further verified our composite presented superior blood coagulation effect in extreme environments due to the LBL structure,the pro-coagulant properties of nano-silica aerogel and unidirectional fluid pumping of AWNSA@G.Our work,therefore,shows great hemostasis potential under normal and extreme temperature environments.Xiaoli Jia Chao Hua Fengbo Yang Xiaoxiao Li Peng Zhao Feifan Zhou Yichi Lu Hao Liang Malcolm Xing Guozhong Lyu 2023Bioactive Materials2023,,8:1
8A comparative study of the electrical characteristics of positive and negative narrow bipolar events显示文摘Narrow bipolar events(NBEs)are intriguing intra-cloud discharge that have attracted enormous interest in the lightning community.They come with two polarities that dominate at different altitudes in thunderclouds.The sources of negative NBEs are usually located near the top of thunderclouds;those of positive NBEs are at the middle levels.NBEs may occur at the onset of lightning.The electrical properties of NBEs remain poorly understood.We present here the first comparative study of the electrical characteristics of negative and positive NBEs.To derive electrical parameters from the fast electric field change waveforms of 1673 positive NBEs and 364 negative NBEs recorded by the Jianghuai Area Sferic Array(JASA)in China,we use an improved method based on the transmission line model.This approach concludes that negative NBEs occurring at high altitudes tend to produce a narrower current pulse and take a shorter time to traverse the channel than their positive counterparts.Moreover,compared to positive NBEs,a larger portion of negative NBEs are associated with slightly greater peak current moments but smaller overall charge moments.The differences reported herein between electrical properties of negative and positive NBEs suggest that charge distribution in NBE-producing thunderstorms tends to vary systematically with altitude.FeiFan Liu BaoYou Zhu HeLin Zhou GaoPeng Lu Ming Ma JiuHou Lei 2023Earth and Planetary Physics2023,7,6:0
9The sedimentary facies characteristics and lithofacies palaeogeography during Middle-Late Cambrian,Sichuan Basin and adjacent area显示文摘Combined with the regional strata filling characteristics of Middle-Upper Cambrian,the present paper conducts a systematic research on sedimentary facies in the basin and its peripheral area by utilizing 164 field outcrops and drilling and coring data.Further,the method of“multi-factor comprehensive synthesis based on single-factor analysis”was employed to investigate the sedimentary facies and palaeogeography of the study area and establish the sedimentary facies model.Stratigraphic reveals that the study area represents the pattern of thin-northwest and thicksoutheast by stretching northeast-southwest.Within the present basin,the pattern of“one thin and two thick”predominates,while outside the basin“four thin and three thick”filling feature was found.Sedimentary facies shows that the study area was featured by rimmed carbonate platform.Specifically,carbonate platform,slope and northeastern corner Qinling paleooceanic Basin and southeastern corner Jiangnan Bain was identified from the west to the east.The carbonate platform contains restricted platform,evaporation-restricted platform,semi-restricted platform and the platform margin.Single factor analysis and lithofacies palaeogeographic characteristics manifests that during Middle-Late Cambrian,the western Old land evolved into peneplain stage,and that the eastern and southwestern sub-sags remained connected to the open-sea to some extent.At the time,the shllow seawater circulation was relatively restricted,while the ancient seabed tended to be flat and evaporation characteristics significantly diminished.Secondary sea-level fluctuation intensively influenced the development of scaled grain beach.It is suggested that tide marginal beach,intraplatform shoal subfacies zone,along with Shiqian-SangZhi in southeast and Zhenba-Xinshan in northeast platform-margin beach subfacies zone to be preferable targets for the favorable reservoir facies zone and potential oil and gas reservoir area.Feifan Lu Xiucheng Tan Teng Ma Ling Li Aiwei Zhao Chengpeng Su Jingqing Wu Haitao Hong 2017Petroleum2017,3,2:0
