1Valuation of Lake and Marsh Wetlands Ecosystem Services in China显示文摘Wetlands are highly productive natural ecosystems, providing valuable goods and services. There is growing interest in transferring ecosystem service value from the existing wetlands studied to other wetlands ecosystems at a large geographic scale. The benefit transfer method uses the known values from wetlands to predict the value of other wetland sites. This methodology requires only limited time and resources. The present study calculated the value of the ecological services provided by lake and marsh wetlands in China in terms of biodiversity indices, water quality indices and economic indices. Basic data on wetlands were obtained through remote sensing images. The results show that: 1) The total ecosystem service value of the lake and marsh wetlands in 2008 was calculated to be 8.1841 × 1010 United States Dollars(USD), with the marsh and lake wetlands contributing 5.6329 × 1010 and 2.5512 × 1010 USD, respectively. Values of marsh ecosystem service were concentrated in Heilongjiang Province(2.5516 × 1010 USD), Qinghai Province(1.2014 × 1010 USD), and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region(1.1884 × 1010 USD). The value of the lakes were concentrated in Tibet Autonomous Region(6.223 × 109 USD), Heilongjiang(5.810 × 109 USD), and Qinghai(5.500 × 109 USD). 2) Waste treatment and climate regulation services contributed to 26.29% and 24.74% respectively, of the total ecosystem service value of the marsh wetlands. Hydrological regulation and waste treatment contributed to 41.39% and 32.75%, respectively, of the total ecosystem service value of the lake wetlands. 3) The total ecological service value of the lake and marsh wetlands was 54.64% of the total service value of natural grassland ecosystems and 30.34% of the total service value of forests ecosystems in China.ZHANG Yiran ZHOU Demin NIU Zhenguo XU Fengjiao 2014Chinese Geographical Science2014,24,3:13
2Improved Properties in Relation to Fine Precipitate Microstructures Tailored by Combinatorial Processes in an Al-Cu-Mg-Si Alloy显示文摘The 2xxx series Al alloys have been widely used in aerospace industry owing to their high strength,good plasticity and superior formability.To ensure a good control of shape,the quenched alloy sheets require a small pre-deformation before artificial aging.However,this pre-deformation considerably deteriorates the mechanical strength of the Al-3.0 Cu-1.8 Mg-0.5 Si(wt%)alloys due to the formation of unfavorable large-sized precipitates at dislocations.To tackle this issue,we designed a pre-aging process prior to the pre-deformation.The thermal-mechanical treatment,involving pre-aging,pre-deformation and subsequent aging,markedly enhanced the ultimate tensile strength up to 521 MPa compared to that(448 MPa)of the alloy without pre-aging.Microstructure characterization revealed that the fine precipitates(~2 nm)with a uniform dispersion were promoted within the Al matrix,which in turn partly suppressed the formation of the unfavorable large-sized precipitate(~100 nm).Our findings provide a new clue for designing stronger Al alloys with age-hardenability.Fengjiao Niu Jianghua Chen Cuilan Wu Jing Wu Xiandong Xu Pan Xie Xiongwei Yu 2020Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2020,33,11:1
3m^(6)A demethylase ALKBH5 is required for antibacterial innate defense by intrinsic motivation of neutrophil migration显示文摘Neutrophil migration into the site of infection is necessary for antibacterial innate defense,whereas impaired neutrophil migration may result in excessive inflammation and even sepsis.The neutrophil migration directed by extracellular signals such as chemokines has been extensively studied,yet the intrinsic mechanism for determining neutrophil ability to migrate needs further investigation.N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)RNA modification is important in immunity and inflammation,and our preliminary data indicate downregulation of RNA m^(6)A demethylase alkB homolog 5(ALKBH5)in neutrophils during bacterial infection.Whether m^(6)A modification and ALKBH5 might intrinsically modulate neutrophil innate response remain unknown.Here we report that ALKBH5 is required for antibacterial innate defense by enhancing intrinsic ability of neutrophil migration.We found that deficiency of ALKBH5 increased mortality of mice with polymicrobial sepsis induced by cecal ligation and puncture(CLP),and Alkbh5-deficient CLP mice exhibited higher bacterial burden and massive proinflammatory cytokine production in the peritoneal cavity and blood because of less neutrophil migration.Alkbh5-deficient neutrophils had lower CXCR2 expression,thus exhibiting impaired migration toward chemokine CXCL2.Mechanistically,ALKBH5-mediated m^(6)A demethylation empowered neutrophils with high migration capability through altering the RNA decay,consequently regulating protein expression of its targets,neutrophil migration-related molecules,including increased expression of neutrophil migration-promoting CXCR2 and NLRP12,but decreased expression of neutrophil migration-suppressive PTGER4,TNC,and WNK1.Our findings reveal a previously unknown role of ALKBH5 in imprinting migrationpromoting transcriptome signatures in neutrophils and intrinsically promoting neutrophil migration for antibacterial defense,highlighting the potential application of targeting neutrophil m^(6)A modification in controlling bacterial infections.Yang Liu Renjie Song Lu Zhao Zhike Lu Yini Li Xinyi Zhan Fengjiao Lu Jiang Yang Yamei Niu Xuetao Cao 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,7:0
