1Advances in Mg corrosion and research suggestions显示文摘Recent research is summarised with an emphasis on the use of Mg alloys for biodegradable medical applications.Mg melt purification using Zr has been shown to provide the opportunity to produce ultra-high-purity Mg alloys,which could lead to stainless Mg.Nor's solution may be a good starting model for the study of Mg for biodegradable medical implant applications.A systematic laboratory investigation is needed to elucidate the details of how the corrosion behaviour is controlled by the various constituents of the body fluids.In the evaluation of the Mg corrosion mechanism there is a critical lack of understanding of(i)the amount of hydrogen dissolved in the Mg metal during corrosion,and during anodic polarisation,and(ii)the size film-free area where corrosion occurs,and how to measure this area.In the evaluation of the apparent valence of Mg using an applied anodic current density,for reliable values,it is important to apply a sufficiently large applied current density.The available data are consistent with the slightly modified uni-positive Mg^(+)ion mechanism,which maintains that(i)the surface of Mg is covered by a partially protective film,and the film-free area increases as the potential becomes more positive(i.e.a catalytic activation process),(ii)corrosion occurs preferentially at breaks in the partial protective film,(iii)corrosion at the breaks in the partially protective film involves the uni-positive Mg ion,(iv)undermining of particles occurs when Mg is severely dissolved,and(v)there may be some self-corrosion not covered by these four processes,which may be associated with crevice-like features on a severely corroded surface or hydride dissolution at relatively negative potentials.Self-corrosion might also be possible under condition of essentially uniform corrosion.Mg^(+)has not been experimentally observed.Its existence is postulated as an extremely-short lifetime intermediate in the reaction sequence between metallic Mg and the equilibrium ion Mg^(++).There has been no direct experimental examination of this sequence,and a key challenge remains to devise an experimental approach to study the details of this reaction sequence and the intermediate steps.The apparent valence of Mg continues to be a critical question.If defendable values of effective valence for Mg less than 1.0 were measured,this would indicate that some phenomena contribute to these low values that are not currently accounted for in the uni-positive Mg^(+)corrosion mechanism.The most likely candidate would be self-corrosion.Andrej Atrens Guang-Ling Song Fuyong Cao Zhiming Shi Patrick K.Bowen 2013Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2013,1,3:19
2Optimal duration of percutaneous microballoon compression for treatment of trigeminal nerve injury显示文摘Percutaneous microballoon compression of the trigeminal ganglion is a brand new operative technique for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. However, it is unclear how the procedure mediates pain relief, and there are no standardized criteria, such as compression pressure, compression time or balloon shape, for the procedure. In this study, percutaneous microballoon compression was performed on the rabbit trigeminal ganglion at a mean inflation pressure of 1,005 ± 150 mmHg for 2 or 5 minutes. At 1, 7 and 14 days after percutaneous microballoon compression, the large-diameter myelinated nerves displayed axonal swelling, rupture and demyelination under the electron microscope. Fragmentation of myelin and formation of digestion chambers were more evident after 5 minutes of compression. Image analyzer results showed that the diameter of trigeminal ganglion cells remained unaltered after compression. These experimental findings indicate that a 2-minute period of compression can suppress pain transduction. Immunohistochemical staining revealed that vascular endothelial growth factor expression in the ganglion cells and axons was significantly increased 7 days after trigeminal ganglion compression, however, the changes were similar after 2-minute compression and 5-minute compression. The upregulated expression of vascular endothelial growth factor in the ganglion cells after percutaneous microballoon compression can promote the repair of the injured nerve. 3A state-of-the-art review on passivation and biofouling of Ti and its alloys in marine environments显示文摘High strength-to-weight ratio, commendable biocompatibility and excellent corrosion resistance make Ti alloys widely applicable in aerospace, medical and marine industries. However, these alloys suffer from serious biofouling, and may become vulnerable to corrosion attack under some extreme marine conditions. The passivating and biofouling performance of Ti alloys can be attributed to their compact,stable and protective films. This paper comprehensively reviews the passivating and biofouling behavior,as well as their mechanisms, for typical Ti alloys in various marine environments. 4Review of the atmospheric corrosion of magnesium alloys显示文摘Mg atmospheric corrosion is induced by a thin surface aqueous layer. Controlling factors are microgalvanic acceleration between different phases, protection by a continuous second phase distribution, protection by corrosion products, and degradation of protective layers by aggressive species such as chloride ions. The Mg atmospheric corrosion rate increases with relative humidity (RH) and concentrations of aggressive species. Temperature increases the corrosion rate unless a protective film causes a decrease.O2, SO2 and NO2 accelerate the atmospheric corrosion rate, whereas the corrosion rate is decreased by CO2. 5Containment Control of Fractional Order Multi-Agent Systems With Time Delays显示文摘In complex environments, many distributed multiagent systems are described with the fractional-order dynamics.In this paper, containment control of fractional-order multiagent systems with multiple leader agents are studied. Firstly,the collaborative control of fractional-order multi-agent systems(FOMAS) with multiple leaders is analyzed in a directed network without delays. Then, by using Laplace transform and frequency domain theorem, containment consensus of networked FOMAS with time delays is investigated in an undirected network, and a critical value of delays is obtained to ensure the containment consensus of FOMAS. 7Air pollution and inhalation exposure to particulate matter of different sizes in rural households using improved stoves in central China显示文摘Household air pollution is considered to be among the top environmental risks in China.To examine the performance of improved stoves for reduction of indoor particulate matter(PM) emission and exposure in rural households, individual inhalation exposure to size-resolved PM was investigated using personal portable samplers carried by residents using wood gasifier stoves or improved coal stoves in a rural county in Central China.Concentrations of PM with different sizes in stationary indoor and outdoor air were also monitored at paired sites. The stationary concentrations of size-resolved PM in indoor air were greater than those in outdoor air, especially finer particles PM0.25. The daily averaged exposure concentrations of PM0.25, PM1.0, PM2.5 and total suspended particle for all the surveyed residents were 74.4 ± 41.1, 159.3 ± 74.3, 176.7 ± 78.1 and 217.9 ± 78.1 μg/m3,respectively. Even using the improved stoves, the individual exposure to indoor PM far exceeded the air quality guideline by WHO at 25 μg/m3. Submicron particles PM1.0 were the dominant PM fraction for personal exposure and indoor and outdoor air. Personal exposure exhibited a closer correlation with indoor PM concentrations than that for outdoor concentrations. Both inhalation exposure and indoor air PM concentrations in the rural households with gasifier firewood stoves were evidently lower than the reported results using traditional firewood stoves. 8Distributed fuzzy fault-tolerant consensus of leader-follower multi-agent systems with mismatched uncertainties显示文摘In this paper,the distributed fuzzy fault-tolerant tracking consensus problem of leader-follower multi-agent systems(MASs)is studied.The objective system includes actuator faults,mismatched parameter uncertainties,nonlinear functions,and exogenous disturbances under switching communication topologies.To solve this problem,a distributed fuzzy fault-tolerant controller is proposed for each follower by adaptive mechanisms to track the state of the leader.Furthermore,the fuzzy logic system is utilized to approximate the unknown nonlinear dynamics.An error estimator is introduced between the mismatched parameter matrix and the input matrix.Then,a selective adaptive law with relative state information is adopted and applied.When calculating the Lyapunov function’s derivative,the coupling terms related to consensus error and mismatched parameter uncertainties can be eliminated.Finally,a numerical simulation is given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed protocol.MALIKA Sader WANG Fuyong LIU Zhongxin CHEN Zengqiang 2021Journal of Systems Engineering and Electronics2021,32,5:4
9Corrosivity of haze constituents to pure Mg显示文摘The corrosion behavior of pure Magnesium(Mg)in a Mg(OH)2-saturated solution containing different individual constituents of PM2.5 in haze were studied by hydrogen evolution,weight loss and electrochemical experiments.The results indicated that the corrosivity of these constituents to pure Mg decreased in the following order:(NH4)2SO4>Haze-contaminated-solution>NH4NO3>NH4Cl>NaCl≈KCl≈Na2SO4≈MgCl2≈CaSO4>Mg(OH)2(basic solution)>Ca(NO3)2.Possible mechanisms behind the different corrosion behaviors of Mg in response to these constituents were also briefly discussed in this paper.Chen Zhao Fuyong Cao Guang-Ling Song 2020Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2020,8,1:3
10Leader-following consensus of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems with intermittent position measurements显示文摘This work studies the leader-following consensus problem of second-order nonlinear multi-agent systems with aperiodically intermittent position measurements. Through the filter-based method, a novel intermittent consensus protocol without velocity measurements is designed for each follower exclusively based on the relative position measurements of neighboring agents. Under the common assumption that only relative position measurements between the neighboring agents are intermittently used, some consensus conditions are derived for second-order leader-following multi-agent systems with inherent delayed nonlinear dynamics. Moreover, for multi-agent systems without inherent delayed nonlinear dynamics, some simpler consensus conditions are presented. 11The role of personality,social economic and prevention strategy effects on health-related quality of life among people living with HIV/AIDS显示文摘Background::HIV/AIDS has transformed into a chronic controllable but not yet curable infectious disease as other chronic diseases to some extent.The additional of so called fourth 90%that included the improved health-related quality of life(HRQoL)for people living with HIV(PLWHIV)required solutions beyond antiretroviral therapy and viral load suppression.This study will explore the role of personality,social economic and prevention strategy effection on HRQoL among people living with HIV/AIDS.Methods::A cross-sectional study was conducted among PLWHIV aged more than 16 years old in the 10 municipalities in Yunnan Province,China from October 2019 to May 2020,enrolling total 1997 participants.Individual-level HRQoL data were measured by 12-item Short Form Health Survey(SF-12)and EuroQol Five Dimensions Questionnaire(EQ-5D-5L).We assembled municipal-level data about social economic from Yunnan Statistical Yearbook in 2020 and strategy practice information from the self-evaluation system.We used the principal component analysis to build the social economic and strategy effect on each area respectively and one-way ANOVA was used to perform univariate analysis to identify the predictors with significant differences.Finally we used multi-level model(MLM)to explore the personality,social economic and strategy effects in health-related quality of life among PLWHIV.Results::The global score for quality of life measured using EQ-5D-5L had an estimated mean score(standard deviation,SD)of 0.901±0.146.The HRQoL score measured using PCS-12 had an estimated mean score(SD)of 46.62±8.55.The mean MCS-12 score(SD)was estimated to be 47.80±9.71.The area-level predictors explained a proportion of 13.6-17.2%for the between-area variation of the HRQoL scores,regardless of the total HRQoL,physical component and mental component.The impacts of stigma(P<0.01),social support(P<0.001),anxiety(P<0.001),depression(P<0.05)and social economic status(P<0.05)on HRQoL at the individual-level were significantly different.The plots visualized the impact of individual-level factors on a respondent’s HRQoL was modified by the area-level characteristics.Conclusions::The study identified the possible strategy determinant of individual HRQoL of PLWHIV and also the area effect on HRQoL.Stigma,social support,anxiety,depression and social economic status were the individual-level determinants on HRQoL.These could be a valuable resource for evaluating the overall health of the areas and help improve local decision making.Xiaowen Wang Hongbing Luo Enlong Yao RenhaiTang Wenbin Dong Fuyong Liu Jun Liang Huilan Li Minyang Xiao Zuyang Zhang Jin Niu Lijun Song Liru Fu Xuehua Li Shicong Qian Qing Guo Zhizhong Song 2021Infectious Diseases of Poverty2021,10,4:3
