| 2 | Effects of key growth conditions on endogenous hormone content in tillering stem bases,germination of lateral buds,and biomass allocation in Indocalamus decorus显示文摘Physiological responses and changes in growth of Indocalamus decorus Q.H.Dai under different ecological conditions are essential for further understanding growth regulation and adaptive mechanisms and establishing an evidence-based management system for optimal growth. In this study, the endogenous hormone content in tillering stem bases, germination of lateral buds, and biomass allocation of this bamboo species in different growth environments were investigated. Among the endogenous hormones in the basal stems of tillers, indole-3-pyruvic acid and zeatin riboside were highly correlated with lateral buds that germinated to form shoots, while gibberellic acid was highly correlated with lateral buds that germinated to form rhizomes. The best lateral bud germination characteristics were achieved with full sun, a density of six plantlets per pot, and watering every 6 days. I. decorus plantlets used different resource allocation strategies depending on treatment. | 14 | Preterm neonate with a large congenital hemangioma on maxillofacial site causing thrombocytopenia and heart failure:A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND We report a rare case of a large congenital hemangioma(CH)in the maxillofacial region in a female neonate that caused thrombocytopenia and heart failure.With close multidisciplinary collaboration,the congenital hemangioma was successfully resected with good results.CASE SUMMARY The patient was delivered at gestational age of 36 wk by cesarean section due to cephalopelvic disproportion and lack of onset of labor(birth weight:2630 g).A right-sided facial tumor was detected in the fetus during routine antenatal ultrasound examination of the mother at 32 wk of gestation.Physical examination revealed a 7 cm×7 cm×3 cm hard,dull purple-colored mass on the right maxillofacial region.The mass was tense and had prominent surface telangiectasias.Laboratory investigations revealed reduced hemoglobin and platelet count,and increased activated partial thromboplastin time,prothrombin time,and thrombin time.International normalized ratio,fibrin degradation products,and D-Dimer levels were significantly increased.Thromboelastography showed increased alpha angle,mean amplitude,and the clot formation speed.Thyroid-stimulating hormone level was significantly elevated.The patient was administered prednisone,propranolol,euthyrox,vitamin K1,milrinone,and digoxin.After operation,cefepime was administered for anti-infection and propranolol was prescribed at discharge.CONCLUSION We report a rare case of CH in the right maxillofacial region causing thrombocytopenia and heart failure. | Neng Ren Chun-Shun Jin Xiao-Qi Zhao Wen-Hui Gao Yu-Xian Gao Yuan Wang Yun-Feng Zhang | 2022 | World Journal of Clinical Cases2022,10,17: | 0 |
| 15 | Prediction of Thermal Conductivity of Various Nanofluids with Ethylene Glycol using Artificial Neural Network显示文摘The nanofluid has been widely used in many heat transfer areas due to its significant enhancement effect on the thermal conductivity.Therefore,the methods that can accurately predict their thermal conductivities are very important to evaluate and analyze the heat transfer process.In this paper,a novel artificial neural network(ANN)model was proposed to predict the thermal conductivity of nanofluids with ethylene glycol and could be used in a wide range with excellent accuracy.A total of 391 experimental data with a wide range of temperatures(4℃ to 90℃),nanoparticles(metal,metal oxide,etc.),volume concentrations(0.05%to 10%),and particle sizes(2 nm to 282 nm)were collected.To build the ANN model,the temperature,thermal conductivities of the base fluid and nanoparticles,the size and volume concentration of the nanoparticles were selected and used as the input parameters.There were 5 nodes,10 nodes and 1 node in input layer,hidden layer and output layer,respectively.The predicted results of the ANN model coincided with the experimental data very well with the correlation coefficient and mean square error(MSE)were 0.9863 and 3.01×10–5,respectively.The relative deviations of 99.74%data were within±5%.The model was expected to be a good practical method to predict the thermal conductivity of nanofluids with ethylene glycol. | WANG Xuehui YAN Xiaona GAO Neng CHEN Guangming | 2020 | Journal of Thermal Science2020,29,6: | 0 |
| 16 | Biological oyster shell waste enhances polyphenylene sulfide composites and endows them with antibacterial properties显示文摘To date,there is no research that deals with biological waste as fillers in polyphenylene sulfide(PPS).In this study,oyster shells were recycled and treated to prepare thermally-treated oyster shells(TOS),which were used as PPS fillers to make new bio-based antibacterial composite materials.The effect of varying the content of TOS was studied by means of structure and performance characterization.PPS/TOS composites were demonstrated to have an antibacterial effect on the growth of E coli and S.aureus.Qualitative analysis showed that when the TOS content was≥30%and 40%,the composite materials had an apparent inhibition zone.Quantitative analysis showed that the antibacterial activity increased with the TOS content.Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy indicated the formation of hydrogen bonds between the molecular chains of TOS and PPS and the occurrence of a coordination reaction.At 10%TOS,the composite tensile strength reached a maximum value of 72.5 MPa,which is 9.65%higher than that of pure PPS.The trend of bending properties is the same as that of tensile properties,showing that the maximum property was reached for the composite with 10%TOS.At the same time,the crystallinity and contact angle were the highest,and the permeability coefficient was the lowest.The fatigue test results indicated that for the composite with 10%TOS,the tensile strength was 23%lower than static tensile strength,and the yield strength was 10%lower than the static yield strength.The results of the study showed that TOS not only could reduce the cost of PPS,but also could impart antibacterial properties and enhance the mechanical and,barrier properties,the thermostability,as well as the crystallinity. | Chi-Hui Tsou Rui Zeng Neng Wan Manuel Reyes De Guzman Xue-Fei Hu Tao Yang Chen Gao Xiaomei Wei Jia Yi Li Lan Rui-Tao Yang Ya-Li Sun | 2023 | Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering2023,57,5: | 0 |
| 17 | Evaluation on Excess Entropy Scaling Method Predicting Thermal Transport Properties of Liquid HFC/HFO Refrigerants显示文摘The application of the excess entropy scaling(EES)method to predict the viscosity,thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of HFC/HFO refrigerants is evaluated in this paper.The universal coefficients of the EES model were firstly obtained from the properties of HFC refrigerants,and the accuracy of the model was further investigated with HFO properties.It was suggested that the EES model correlated the viscosity very well with the average absolute deviations(AADs)of most HFC refrigerants lower than 6.55%except R32.The correlations also provided very good prediction on the viscosity for R1234yf and R1234ze(E),but not for R1336mzz(Z).The prediction of thermal conductivity for both HFC and HFO refrigerants was generally well with the maximum AAD of 11.44%.However,the paper also indicated that there were no universal thermal diffusivity coefficients for even HFC refrigerants,and the linear function could not fit the thermal diffusivity curve very well.Therefore,the exclusively two-order polynomial correlations based on the EES model were presented for each HFC/HFO refrigerant. | WANG Xuehui WRIGHT Edward GAO Neng LI Ying | 2022 | Journal of Thermal Science2022,31,5: | 0 |
