| 1 | No association between low-dose reserpine use and depression in older hypertensive patient: result of a multicenter, cross-sectional study显示文摘Background Reserpine is currently used by millions of Chinese hypertensive patients, in spite of the continued concern of its depressogenic effect, even when used in low dose. This study aimed to investigate the association between low-dose reserpine use and depression in older Chinese hypertensive patient. Methods In this cross-sectional, case-control study, we recruited patient aged 60 years or over who had regularly taken one or two tables of “compound reserpine and triamterene tablets (CRTTs)” for more than one year (reserpine user) from 26 community health centers located in 10 provinces in China. For each patient who took CRTTs, we selected an age (within five years) and sex matched hypertensive patient who had never taken any drugs containing reserpine (non-reserpine user) as control. Depressive symptoms were evaluated using a Chinese depression scale adapted from the Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale. Demographic, clinical data and laboratory examination results within six months were collected. Results From August 2018 to December 2018, 787 reserpine user and 787 non-reserpine user were recruited. The mean age of all study subjects was 70.3 years, with about equal numbers of males and females. The mean depression score was 40.4 in reserpine users and 40.6 in non-reserpine users (P = 0.7). The majority of study subject had a depression score < 53 (87.6% in reserpine users and 88.2% in non-reserpine users, respectively). There were no significant differences in the prevalence of mild, moderate or severe depression in reserpine users and non-reserpine users. Conclusions There is no association between low-dose reserpine use and depression in older hypertensive patient. | 2 | Identification and characterization of two morphologically distinct stem cell subpopulations from human urine samples显示文摘Urine-derived stem cells(USCs)have shown potentials for the treatment of skeletal and urological disorders.Based on published literature and our own data,USCs consist of heterogeneous populations of cells.In this paper,we identify and characterize two morphologically distinct subpopulations of USCs from human urine samples,named as spindle-shaped USCs(SS-USCs)and rice-shaped USCs(RS-USCs)respectively.The two subpopulations showed similar clone-forming efficiency,while SS-USCs featured faster proliferation,higher motility,and greater potential for osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation,RS-USCs showed greater potential for chondrogenic differentiation.POU5F1 was strongly expressed in both subpopulations,but MYC was weakly expressed.Both subpopulations showed similar patterns of CD24,CD29,CD34,CD44,CD73,CD90 and CD105 expression,while a higher percentage of RS-USCs were positive for CD133.SS-USCs were positive for VIM,weakly positive for SLC12A1 and UMOD,and negative for KRT18,NPHS1,AQP1 and AQP2,indicating a renal mesenchyme origin;while RSUSCs are positive for VIM,partially positive for KRT18,NPHS1,AQP1,SLC12A1 and UMOD,and negative for AQP2,indicating a nephron tubule origin.The above results can facilitate understanding of the biological characteristics of subpopulations of USCs,and provide a basis for further research and applications of such cells. | An-Jing Chen Jin-Kui Pi Jun-Gen Hu Yi-Zhou Huang Hong-Wei Gao Sheng-Fu Li Jesse Li-Ling Hui-Qi Xie | 2020 | Science China(Life Sciences)2020,63,5: | 7 |
| 3 | Nerve autografts and tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries: a 5-year bibliometric analysis显示文摘With advances in biomedical methods, tissue-engineered materials have developed rapidly as an alternative to nerve autografts for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries. However, the materials selected for use in the repair of peripheral nerve injuries, in particular multiple injuries and largegap defects, must be chosen carefully. Various methods and materials for protecting the healthy tissue and repairing peripheral nerve injuries have been described, and each method or material has advantages and disadvantages. Recently, a large amount of research has been focused on tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries. Using the keywords 'peripheral nerve injury', 'autotransplant', 'nerve graft', and 'biomaterial', we retrieved publications using tissue-engineered materials for the repair of peripheral nerve injuries appearing in the Web of Science from 2010 to 2014. The country with the most total publications was the USA. The institutions that were the most productive in this field include Hannover Medical School(Germany), Washington University(USA), and Nantong University(China). | 5 | Bibliometric profile of neurogenic bladder in the literature:a 20-year bibliometric analysis显示文摘Neurogenic bladder is a dysfunction of the lower urinary tract caused by nervous system disorder.We investigated the trends in publication of articles under the topic 'neurogenic bladder' using bibliometric analysis.Articles on neurogenic bladder,published between 1995 and 2014,were retrieved from the ISI Web of Science citation database.We analyzed the search results for authors,countries,institutions,journals,and top-cited papers.A total of 1,904 articles were retrieved.There was a small increase in the number of articles on neurogenic bladder from 1995(n = 43) to 2014(n = 117).The USA was the leading country in the total number of articles(n = 598).However,the number of publications from China has rapidly increased,and China was ranked second in 2014.Emmanuel Chartier-Kastler(n = 65) was the most productive author,and University of Paris VI(Paris 6)(n = 61) was the most productive institution.The Journal of Urology published the greatest number of articles on this topic(n = 285).Articles on neurogenic bladder were often published in a professional journal under the category Urology & Nephrology,Neurosciences & Neurology,or Rehabilitation.Visualization analysis based on co-citation networks was conducted using Cite Space III.Visualization analysis revealed that the hot spots in neurogenic bladder were botulinum toxin-A,prazosin,bethanechol,and afferent pathways.These findings provide new insight into the publication trends and hot spots in neurogenic bladder. | Yuan Gao Bo Qu Yan Shen Xiao-jing Su Xiao-yan Dong Xue-mei Chen Yu-hong Zhou Hong-ying Pi | 2015 | Neural Regeneration Research2015,10,5: | 4 |
| 6 | Updated annotation of the wild strawberry Fragaria vesca V4 genome显示文摘The diploid strawberry Fragaria vesca serves as an ideal model plant for cultivated strawberry(Fragaria×ananassa,8x)and the Rosaceae family.The F.vesca genome was initially published in 2011 using older technologies.Recently,a new and greatly improved F.vesca genome,designated V4,was published.However,the number of annotated genes is remarkably reduced in V4(28,588 genes)compared to the prior annotations(32,831 to 33,673 genes).Additionally,the annotation of V4(v4.0.a1)implements a new nomenclature for gene IDs(FvH4_XgXXXXX),rather than the previous nomenclature(geneXXXXX).Hence,further improvement of the V4 genome annotation and assigning gene expression levels under the new gene IDs with existing transcriptome data are necessary to facilitate the utility of this high-quality F.vesca genome V4.Here,we built a new and improved annotation,v4.0.a2,for F.vesca genome V4.The new annotation has a total of 34,007 gene models with 98.1%complete Benchmarking Universal Single-Copy Orthologs(BUSCOs).In this v4.0.a2 annotation,gene models of 8,342 existing genes are modified,9,029 new genes are added,and 10,176 genes possess alternatively spliced isoforms with an average of 1.90 transcripts per locus.Transcription factors/regulators and protein kinases are globally identified.Interestingly,the transcription factor family FAr-red-impaired Response 1(FAR1)contains 82 genes in v4.0.a2 but only two members in v4.0.a1.Additionally,the expression levels of all genes in the new annotation across a total of 46 different tissues and stages are provided.Finally,miRNAs and their targets are reanalyzed and presented.Altogether,this work provides an updated genome annotation of the F.vesca V4 genome as well as a comprehensive gene expression atlas with the new gene ID nomenclature,which will greatly facilitate gene functional studies in strawberry and other evolutionarily related plant species. | Yongping Li Mengting Pi Qi Gao Zhongchi Liu Chunying Kang | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 2 |
| 7 | The Gravitational-wave physics Ⅱ: Progress显示文摘It has been a half-decade since the first direct detection of gravitational waves, which signifies the coming of the era of the gravitational-wave astronomy and gravitational-wave cosmology. The increasing number of the detected gravitational-wave events has revealed the promising capability of constraining various aspects of cosmology, astronomy, and gravity. Due to the limited space in this review article, we will briefly summarize the recent progress over the past five years, but with a special focus on some of our own work for the Key Project 'Physics associated with the gravitational waves' supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. | 9 | Passivation of degradation path enables high performance perovskite nanoplatelet lasers with high operational stability显示文摘MAPbI_(3)perovskite has attracted widespread interests for developing low-cost near infrared semiconductor gain media.However,it faces the instability issue under operation conditions,which remains a critical challenge.It is found that the instability of the MAPbI_(3)nanoplatelet laser comes from the thermal-induced degradation progressing from the surface defects towards neighboring regions.By using PbI_(2) passivation,the defect-initiated degradation is significantly suppressed and the nanoplatelet degrades in a layer-by-layer way,enabling the MAPbI_(3)laser to sustain for 4500 s(2.7×10^(7) pulses),which is nearly three times longer than that of the nanoplatelet laser without passivation.Meanwhile,the PbI_(2) passivated MAPbI_(3)nanoplatelet laser with the nanoplatelet cavity displays a maximum quality factor up to∼7800,the highest reported for all MAPbI_(3)nanoplatelet cavities.Furthermore,a high stability MAPbI_(3)nanoplatelet laser that can last for 8500 s(5.1×10^(7) pulses)is demonstrated based on a dual passivation strategy,by retarding the defect-initiated degradation and surface-initiated degradation simultaneously.This work provides in-depth insights for understanding the operating degradation of perovskite lasers,and the dual passivation strategy paves the way for developing high stability near infrared semiconductor laser media. | GUOHUI LI HUIHUI PI YANFU WEI BOLIN ZHOU YA GAO RONG WEN YUYING HAO HAN ZHANG BENG S.ONG YANXIA CUI | 2022 | Photonics Research2022,10,6: | 2 |
