1Influence of Al-Ti-B addition on the microstructure and mechanical properties of A356 alloys显示文摘The mechanical properties (σb,σ0.2,and δ) and fracture behavior of tensile specimens of the refined A356 alloys were investigated as a function of the addition level of Al-Ti-B master alloy under both as-cast and T6 heat-treated conditions. The results show that as the addition level of Al-5Ti-1B master alloy increases from 0.1 wt.% to 5.0 wt.%,the mechanical properties of refined A356 alloys improve steadily and then decrease slightly under both as-cast and T6 heat-treated conditions. Also,they display excellent mechanical properties with σb = 231.30-258.30 MPa,σ0.2 =134.00-155.50 MPa,and δ = 8.5%-11.75% at T6 heat-treated state. The excellent mechanical properties of refined A356 alloys are ascribed to the formation of α-Al equiaxed dendrites,the improvement of eutectic structure from needle/plate-like to short-lathy/block-shaped,and the Mg2Si aging precipitation phase after T6 heat treatment. 2Determination of interface width value in phase-field simulation of dendritic growth into undercooled melt显示文摘The influence of the interface width value on the simulation results and its dependence upon thermo-physical parameters in the phase-field simulation of dendritic growth into undercooled melt are investigated. After choosing the reasonable interface width value, the tip velocities of dendritic growth in Ni melt under different undercoolings are calculated and compared with the experimental data in order to benchmark our results. It is shown that the reasonable interface width value, which is determined by the undercooling, anisotropy, interface kinetic, and thermal diffusivity, has to be taken low enough, and the agreement of our results with experimental data verifies that the credible results can be achieved as long as the interface width value is adequately low. 3Liquid-phase Separation in Rapid Solidification of Undercooled Fe-Co-Cu Melts显示文摘The homogeneous liquid was separated into two phases,(Fe,Co)-rich L1 and Cu-rich L2,once the melt was undercooled below a liquid-phase separation temperature T sep.If the duration from T sep to T s1(solidification temperature of L1 phase),termed the liquid-phase separation interval t,exceeded a critical value,an egg-type structure was observed.By utilizing differential thermal analyses(DTA),the solidification process of the undercooled Fe-Co-Cu alloys was studied.Additionally,an immiscible boundary was obtained,which was a convex parabola with a symmetrical axis of x Cu =0.52.Depending on the relative amounts of L1 and L2,the minor phase was nucleated firstly to form liquid droplets and separated from the original liquids at the beginning of liquid-phase separation.Ning Liu Feng Liu Zheng Chen Gencang Yang Changlin Yang Yaohe Zhou 2012Journal of Materials Science & Technology2012,28,7:7

5Precipitation and responding damping behavior of heat-treated AZ31 magnesium alloy显示文摘Microstructure observation and dynamic mechanical analysis were carried out to in- vestigate the precipitation and responding damping behaviors of AZ31 magnesium alloy. All the strain amplitude-dependent damping curves of the aged alloys are located between the curves of solutionized and as-cast alloys, although they have different critical strain amplitudes. The G-L theory is employed to explain the damp- ing mechanism involving the interaction between the dislocation and the precipitated phase. 6Phase field simulation of the interface morphology evolution and its stability during directional solidification of binary alloys显示文摘The influences of pulling speed V and temperature gradient G on morphology evolution, concentration distribution, solute trapping and interface stability during directional solidification of binary alloys have been studied with the B-S phase field model. Simulated results reproduced the morphology transitions of deep cell to shallow cell and shallow cell to plane front. The primary cellular spacing, depth of groove and effective solute redistribution coefficient for different V and G are compared. 7Growth morphology and evolution of quasicrystal in as-solidified Y-rich Mg-Zn-Y ternary alloys显示文摘A petal-like icosahedral quasicrystal with five branches,which is considered to be the representative morphology of the icosahedral quasicrystal,has been observed in the Y-rich Mg-Zn-Y ternary alloys. Moreover,the polygon-like mor-phology,another pattern of the icosahedral quasicrystal,has also been found in the Y-rich Mg-Zn-Y ternary alloys. The latter morphology results from the evolution of the former one. The growth mechanism of the petal-like morphology of the ico-sahedral quasicrystal was also discussed. 10Phase field modeling for dendritic morphology transition and micro-segregation in multi-component alloys显示文摘By using the phase field model for the solidification of multi-component alloys and coupling with real thermodynamic data, the dendritic morphology transition and the dendritic micro-segregation of Ni-Al-Nb ternary alloys are simulated in two cases, i.e., varying the alloy composition at a fixed under-cooling and varying the undercooling at a fixed alloy composition. The simulated results indicate that with the increase of the dimensionless undercooling U (U=ΔT/ΔT0, where ΔT is the undercooling and ΔT0 the temperature interval between the solidus and liquidus), the dendritic morphology transfers from dendritic to globular growth in both cases. 15Growth of decagonal quasicrystal phase in laser resolidified Al_(72)Ni_(12)Co_(16)显示文摘An ultra-high temperature gradient directional solidification process produced by a widened laser beam was adopted to achieve the directionally solidified microstructure of the stable decagonal quasicrystal phase in AI72Ni12Co16 alloy. X-ray, SEM, TEM and optical microscopy techniques were used to investigate the microstructures and identify the phase. The directionally solidified decagonal quasicrystal showed the facet morphology and grew in lateral growth mode. The unusual periodic and quasiperiodic atomic structures of the decagonal quasicrystal and the epitaxial growth in the melt pool were considered to be the key factors influencing the growth morphology. 16Entropy as a selection rule for crystal growth in undercooled binary eutectic melts显示文摘A solution entropy model was developed for the undercooled binary eutectic alloy systems. As an ex-tension of Taylor and Fidler et al.'s model, the present model considered the change of phase compo-sition with the increase of undercooling. Furthermore, the sub-regular solution model and the interac-tion parameter (IAB) were also introduced. In this paper, the extended model is used to calculate the solution entropy for binary eutectic phases under the undercooled condition, and the application scope of the model is also extended. Not only the growth manner of eutectic phases, but also the transition of morphologies may be predicted and explained by calculating the solution entropy of eutectic phases under the non-equilibrium condition with the developed model.
