| 1 | Engineering core–shell Co_(9)S_(8)/Co nanoparticles on reduced graphene oxide: Efficient bifunctional Mott–Schottky electrocatalysts in neutral rechargeable Zn–Air batteries显示文摘It is significant for the rational construction of the high–efficient bifunctional electrocatalysts for in–depth understandings of how to improve the electron transfer and ion/oxygen transport in catalyzing oxygen reduction reaction and oxygen evolution reaction(ORR and OER),but still full of vital challenges.Herein,we synthesize the novel“three–in–one”catalyst that engineers core–shell Mott–Schottky Co_(9)S_(8)/Co heterostructure on the defective reduced graphene oxide(Co_(9)S_(8)/Co–rGO).The Co_(9)S_(8)/Co–rGO catalyst exhibits abundant Mott–Schottky heterogeneous–interfaces, the well–defined core–shell nanostructure as well as the defective carbon architecture, which provide the multiple guarantees for enhancing the electron transfer and ion/oxygen transport, thus boosting the catalytic ORR and OER activities in neutral electrolyte. As expected, the integrated core–shell Mott–Schottky Co_(9)S_(8)/Co–rGO catalyst delivers the most robust and efficient rechargeable ZABs performance in neutral solution electrolytes accompanied with a power density of 59.5 mW cm^(-2) and superior cycling stability at 5 mA cm^(-2) over 200 h.This work not only emphasizes the rational designing of the high–efficient bifunctional oxygen catalysts from the fundamental understanding of accelerating the electron transfer and ion/oxygen transport, but also sheds light on the practical application prospects in more friendly environmentally neutral rechargeable ZABs. | Xingkun Wang Guangming Zhan Yurou Wang Yan Zhang Jian Zhou Ren Xu Huiyu Gai Huanlei Wang Heqing Jiang Minghua Huang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,5: | 2 |

| 3 | D-band frontier: A new hydrogen evolution reaction activity descriptor of Pt single-atom catalysts显示文摘Hydrogen evolution reaction(HER) is crucial for achieving sustainable development and carbon neutrality, and thus demands efficient catalysts, which necessitates fundamental theory to relieve trial-and-error experiment. To fast screen HER candidates, most studies focus on d-band center(ε)associated with the Gibbs energy of H* adsorption(ΔG). Unfortunately, εrule is not applicable to Pt single atoms on transition metal disulfides(Pt_(1)/TMDs) because of the additional contributions from p states of S atom. Here, we propose a new HER descriptor — d-band frontier(d) by defining the weight of d-band in the energy range of [-1.0 eV, 1.0 eV] of Pt single atoms. This dis exactly correlated with the ΔGof Pt_(1)/TMDs, and thus perfectly describes the structure–activity relationship, as validated by systematical experimental evidences. Moreover, this ddescriptor can be extended to Pt single atoms anchored on other supports(e.g., CN, C, MoO, and CoO), indicating its promising generality. | Guangming Zhan Yancai Yao Fengjiao Quan Huayu Gu Xiao Liu Lizhi Zhang | 2022 | Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,9: | 1 |
| 4 | Electrochemical removal of ammonium nitrogen in high efficiency and N_(2) selectivity using non-noble single-atomic iron catalyst显示文摘Ammonia nitrogen (NH_(4)^(+)-N) is a ubiquitous environmental pollutant, especially in offshore aquaculture systems.Electrochemical oxidation is very promising to remove NH_(4)^(+)-N,but suffers from the use of precious metals anodes. In this work,a robust and cheap electrocatalyst, iron single-atoms distributed in nitrogen-doped carbon (Fe-SAs/N-C),was developed for electrochemical removal of NH_(4)^(+)-N from in wastewater containing chloride. The FeSAs/N-C catalyst exhibited superior activity than that of iron nanoparticles loaded carbon(Fe-NPs/N-C),unmodified carbon and conventional Ti/IrO_(2)-TiO_(2)-RuO_(2)electrodes.And high removal efficiency (>99%) could be achieved as well as high N_(2)selectivity (99.5%) at low current density.Further experiments and density functional theory (DFT) calculations demonstrated the indispensable role of single-atom iron in the promoted generation of chloride derived species for efficient removal of NH_(4)^(+)-N.This study provides promising inexpensive catalysts for NH_(4)^(+)-N removal in aquaculture wastewater. | Fengjiao Quan Guangming Zhan Bing Zhou Cancan Ling Xiaobing Wang Wenjuan Shen Jianfen Li Falong Jia Lizhi Zhang | 2023 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2023,,3: | 1 |
