1The Effect of High Temperature after Anthesis on Rice Quality and Starch Granule Structure of Endosperm显示文摘To ascertain the effect mechanism of high temperature after anthesis on rice quality,the experiment was conducted with two rice lines,the heat-tolerant line 996 and heat-sensitive line 4628,with high temperature and optimal temperature in the growth chamber to investigate the effect of high temperature stress after anthesis on rice appearance quality,milling quality,cooking and eating quality and starch granule structure of endosperm. The result showed that milled rice rate,head rice rate,amylose content and gel consistency of both lines decreased under high temperature stress after anthesis,while the ratio of grain length to width,chalky rate,chalkiness,protein content increased. Under high temperature treatments,gelatinization temperature,final viscosity,set back and peak time increased,breakdown decreased,Mg content and K content increased,Mg / K ratio decreased. Under same treatment,the extent of rice quality of heat tolerant line 996 affected by high temperature was lower than that of heat sensitive line 4628. Under high temperature stress after anthesis,starch granule arranged untightly,most of starch granules existed in the form of a single starch endosperm,refractive index decreased,transparency reduced,and led to the formation of chalk. 2The next generation models for crops and agro-ecosystems显示文摘Growth in population, decrease in arable land area, and change in climate are endangering our food security. Precision agriculture has the potential to increase crop productivity thorough tailored agricultural practices for different growing areas. Many models of crops and agro-ecosystems capable of predicting interaction between plants and environments have been developed for precision agriculture. Currently, there are several representative categories of crop and agro-ecosystem models, including the de Wit school models, the DSSAT series models and the APSIM series models, which have contributed substantially to improvement of agricultural practices. However, these models are weak in predicting performances of crops under environmental and genetic perturbations are generally weak, which severely limits the application of these models in guiding precision agriculture. We need to develop the next generation crop and agro-ecosystems models with a high level of mechanistic basis, which can be integrated with high throughput data and can predict the heterogeneity of environmental factors inside canopy and dynamic canopy photosynthesis. In developing such a model close collaboration is inevitably required among scientists from different disciplines. The successful development and application of such models will undoubtedly advance precision agriculture through providing better agronomical practices tailored for different growing environments. 3Staged angioplasty versus regular carotid artery stenting in patients with carotid artery stenosis at high risk of hyperperfusion:a randomised clinical trial显示文摘Background and purpose Hyperperfusion(HP)is a devastating complication associated with carotid artery stenting(CAS)or endarterectomy.The efficacy and safety of staged angioplasty(SAP)in patients with CAS at high risk of HP remains unclear.We sought to determine whether SAP is superior to regular CAS in patients with high risk of HP.Methods A randomised,multicentre open-label clinical trial with blinded outcome assessment(STEP)was conducted.Patients with severe carotid stenosis at high risk of HP were randomly assigned(1:1)to the SAP or regular CAS group.The primary endpoint was hyperperfusion syndrome(HPS)and intracerebral haemorrhage(ICH)within 30 days after the procedure.Results From November 2014 to January 2017,a total of 64 patients were enrolled in 11 centres.33 patients were allocated to the SAP group and 31 to the regular CAS group.At 30 days,the rate of primary endpoint was 0.0%(0/33)in the SAP group and 9.7%(3/31)in the regular CAS group(absolute risk reduction(ARR),9.7%;95%CI−20.1% to 0.7%;p=0.11).As one of the secondary endpoints,the incidence of HP phenomenon(HPP)was lower in the SAP group than the regular CAS group(0.0%vs 22.6%,ARR,−22.6%;95% CI−36.8%to−10.2%;p=0.04).Conclusion The rate of HPS and ICH was not significantly lower in SAP group;the extended secondary endpoint of HPP,however,significantly reduced,which suggested that SAP may be a safe and effective carotid revascularisation procedure to prevent HP.Dapeng Mo Baixue Jia Huaizhang Shi Yaxuan Sun Qingan Liu Chengzhe Fan Jianping Deng Jinglin Yuan Wei Wu Changchun Jiang Guilian Zhang Hanjun Du Ning Ma Feng Gao Xuan Sun Ligang Song Lian Liu Guangge Peng Yongjun Wang Yilong Wang Zhongrong Miao the STEP Study Group 2021Stroke & Vascular Neurology2021,6,1:3
4Puerarin decreases hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha in the hippocampus of vascular dementia rats显示文摘In this study, a rat vascular dementia model was established by permanent bilateral common carotid arterial occlusion. Rats were intraperitoneally injected with puerarin 3 days before modeling, for 45 successive days. Results demonstrated that in treated animals hippocampal structures were clear, nerve cells arranged neatly, and cytoplasm was rich in Nissl bodies. The number of cells positive for hypoxia inducible factor-1 alpha, erythropoietin and endothelial nitric oxide synthase was reduced; and the learning and memory abilities of rats were significantly improved. 5Low-frequency HIFU induced cancer immunotherapy:tempting challenges and potential opportunities显示文摘Immunotherapy is playing an increasingly important role in the treatment of tumors.Different from the traditional direct killing or excision therapies,immunotherapy depends on autologous immunity to kill tumor cells and tissues by activating or enhancing the body's immune system.Large numbers of recent studies suggest that low-frequency HIFU can not only enhance the intensity of the body's anti-cancer immune response,but also improve the efficiency of immunotherapy drug delivery to strengthen the effects of tumor immunotherapy.The focused ultrasound(FUS)destructs the tumor and simultaneously generates tumor debris and tumor-associated antigens,which enhances the immunogenicity of the tumor and stimulates the immune cells,inducing the body's immune response.Microbubbles are clinically used as a contrast.As a matter of fact,the addition of microbubbles can reinforce the destructive effect of FUS on the tumor and activate a stronger immune response.The combined application of ultrasound and microbubbles can more effectively open the blood brain barrier(BBB),which is beneficial to improving the intake of immune cells or immunotherapy drugs and exerting a positive influence in the lesion area.Currently,microbubbles and nanoparticles are commonly used as gene and drug carriers.Using ultrasound,the immune-related gene or antigen delivery itself can enhance the immune response and improve the efficacy of the immunotherapy.Guilian Shi Mingchuan Zhong Fuli Ye Xiaoming Zhang 2019Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,4:3
6A conceptual framework for ex ante valuation of ecosystem services of brownfield greening from a systematic perspective显示文摘Introduction:Although Brownfield greening(BG)can be a crucial solution to green space deficiency in dense urban areas,the potential benefits of different BG initiatives have rarely been quantitatively pre-evaluated.Here,the concept and main features of BG and its costs and benefits are firstly depicted.Next,a conceptual framework is presented which combines ecosystem service(ESS)valuation,economic cost-benefit analysis,and spatial pattern analysis.The framework is used to perform ex ante valuation of the ESS value of BG in Xuhui District,Shanghai.Outcomes:The scenario comparison results show that it can spatially reflect a closer-to-reality value of ESS at the urban scale instead of a theoretical value at the site scale.The ultimate values of ESS(After economic and landscape adjustments)in the composite scenario is more than 21%higher than those in the full-eco scenario,whereas the initial values of ESS(before the adjustments)in the former was 14%lower than those in the latter.These results suggest that a considerable part of brownfield greening projects need to be implemented in the more populated and economically vibrant areas instead of solely in the ecological construction zone,thereby correspondingly providing more cultural and regulation services and forming a better urban green space network.Conclusion:The framework provides a simple,science-based,and feasible tool for making BG decisions from a systematic perspective in dense urban areas.It can help meet the need for applying ESS knowledge to BG-based green space planning and policy making in the context of urban sustainable development.Qicheng Zhong Lang Zhang Yi Zhu Cecil Konijnendijk van den Bosch Jigang Han Guilian Zhang Yuezhong Li 2020Ecosystem Health and Sustainability2020,6,1:2
