| 1 | Effects of high pressure on the microstructure and hardness of a Cu-Zn alloy显示文摘The microstructure of a Cu-Zn alloy treated under different high pressures was investigated by means of metallographic, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD), and the hardness of the Cu-Zn alloy was also measured. The results show that the α phase with a smaller grain size, different shapes, and random distribution appears in the Cu-Zn alloy during the solid-state phase transformation generation in the temperature range of 25-750°C and the pressure range of 0-6 GPa. The amount of residual α phase in the microstructure decreases and then increases with increasing pressure. Under a high pressure of 3 GPa, the least volume fraction of residual α phase was obtained, and under a high pressure of 6 GPa, the changes of the microstructure of the Cu-Zn alloy were not obvious. | 2 | Gene cloning and expression of cadherin in midgut of Helicoverpa armigera and its Cry1A binding region显示文摘Cadherins belong to one of the families of animal glycoproteins responsible for cal-cium-dependent cell-cell adhesion. Recent literatures showed that the cadherin-like in midgut of several insects served as the receptor of Bt toxin Cry1A and the variation of cadherin-like is re-lated to insect’s resistance to Cry1A. The full-length cDNA encoding cadherin-like of Helicoverpa armigera is cloned by degenerate PCR and RACE techniques and the gene was designated as BtR-harm, which is 5581 bp in full-length, encoding 1730 amino acid residues (BtR-harm was deposited in GenBank and the accession number is AF519180). Its predicted molecular weight and isoelectric point were 195.39 kDa and 4.23, respectively. The inferred amino acid sequence includes a signal sequence, 11 cadherin repeats, a membrane-proximal region, a transmem-brane region and a cytoplasmic region. Sequence analysis indicated that the deduced protein sequence was most similar to the cadherin-like from Heliothis virescens with 84.2% identity and highly similar to three other lepidopteran cadherin from Bombyx mori, Manduca sexta and Pectinophora gossypiella, with the sequence identities of 60.3.6%, 57.5% and 51.0%, respec-tively. The cDNA encoding cadherin gene was expressed successfully in E. coli and the recom-binant proteins can bind with Cry1Ac. Truncation analysis and binding experiment of BtR-harm revealed that the Cry1A binding region was a contiguous 244-amino acid sequence, which lo-cated between amino acid 1217 and 1461. Semi-quantitative RT-PCR analysis showed that BtR-harm was highly expressed in midgut of H. armigera, very low expressed in foregut and hindgut and was not expressed in other tissues. After H. armigera producing resistance to Cry1Ac, the expression quantity of BtR-harm significantly decreased in midgut of H. armigera. | 3 | 'Climate effect' of the northeast cold vortex and its influences on Meiyu显示文摘The Northeast Cold Vortex (NECV) is an important weather system in the middle and high latitudes in East Asia. Its time scale is synoptic, yet the frequent activities of NECV have significant 'climate effect' which influences not only the monthly temperature in the lower troposphere in Northeast China but also the Meiyu rainfall in East Asia. On the basis of ERA-40 reanalysis data provided by ECMWF, the 'climate effect' of NECV and its relationship with Meiyu in East Asia are studied. It is shown that there is significant correlation between NECV during the Meiyu period and rainfall amount: strong NECV corresponds to more Meiyu rainfall and weak NECV corresponds to less rainfall. In strong NECV years, the dry and cold air from the north is led to the south by NECV, converges with the lower-level warm and wet southwesterly on the north verge of Meiyu region, thus forms an unstable stratification of 'upper dryness and lower wetness' . Triggered by ascending motion, the Meiyu rainfall amount is more than usual. It is on the contrary in weak NECV years. The anomalous SST in north Pacific in the previ-ous year may be a factor that results in the anomalous NECV at Meiyu period. The land-sea thermal contrast in summer facilitates NECV, while that in winter inhibits NECV. The hazard and the vulnerability of the element controls the risk level of the regional geo-hazard. The risk analysis supported by GIS in geo-hazard study is one of the most important directions. Based on the author′s studies in recent years, a risk analysis system of regional geo-hazard (RiskAnly) has been developed on the basis of software MAPGIS. The paper introduces the train of system design, the structure and the workflow of RiskAnly. The size of reinforced particulates is 2-3 μm. They are well distributed in the matrix. | 8 | High-efficiency and multiplex adenine base editing in plants using new TadA variants显示文摘Recently reported adenine base editors(ABEs)exhibit powerful potential for targeted gene correction as well as developing gain-of-function mutants and novel germplasms for both gene function studies and crop breeding.However,editing efficiency varies significantly among different target sites.Here,we investigated the activities of three evolved E.coli adenosine deaminase TadA variants(TadA8e,TadA8.17,and TadA8.20)side-by-side in transgenic rice.We found that TadA8e outperforms TadA8.17 and TadA8.20,and induces efficient A-to-G conversion at all tested sites in the rice genome,including those that were un-editable by ABE7.10 in our previous experiments.Furthermore,V82S/Q154R mutations were incorporated into TadA8e,resulting in a new variant that we named TadA9.Our data show that TadA9 is broadly compatible with CRISPR/SpCas9,CRISPR/SpCas9-NG,and CRISPR/SpRY,as well as CRISPR/ScCas9 nickase systems,achieving comparable or enhanced editing in a larger editing window at diverse PAM sites as compared with TadA8e.Finally,TadA9 was used to simultaneously install novel SNPs in four endogenous herbicide target genes in the commercial rice cultivar Nangeng 46 for potential field application in.weed control.Collectively,we successfully generated a series of novel ABEs that can efficiently edit adenosines in the rice genome.Our findings suggest that TadA9 and TadA8e have great potentials in the development of plant base editors and crop molecular breeding. | Daqi Yan Bin Ren Lang Liu Fang Yan Shaofang Li Guirong Wang Wenxian Sun Xueping Zhou Huanbin Zhou | 2021 | Molecular Plant2021,14,5: | 8 |

| 10 | Using acupoint-to-acupoint penetrative needling to treat poststroke spastic paralysis:a clinical progress review显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To determine the characteristics and advantages of acupoint-to-acupoint penetrative needling(AAPN) treatment for post-stroke spastic paralysis(PSSP) to improve the clinical outcomes of this disease in the future.METHODS: Randomized, controlled trials of PSSP patients receiving AAPN treatment were searched from MEDLINE, EMBASE, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database between January 2006 and June 2013. Key words included: clinic or clinical, acupuncture, needling, acupoint-to-acupoint, penetrative or penetration or penetrating,stroke or apoplexy or cerebral infarction or cerebral hemorrhage, spastic paralysis or spasticity or palsy,and hypermyotonia. Language was limited to English and Chinese. Case series reports, review articles, and animal studies were excluded.RESULTS: AAPN showed better clinical results on PSSP than other acupuncture treatments, especially when combined with adjunct therapies such as electroacupuncture, bloodletting, and rehabilitation. | 13 | Climatological analysis and modeling of the ionospheric global electron content显示文摘In this paper, we calculate the ionospheric global electron content (GEC) from the GPS TEC data along the geographic longitude 120°E during the period of 1996-2004, and investigate the relationship be- tween GEC and 10.7 cm solar radio flux F10.7 and its seasonal dependence with partial correlation analysis. Our results show that GEC is closely correlated with solar activity index F10.7 and is also re- lated with annual and semiannual variations. An empirical GEC model driven by those factors is then to examine the influences of different solar activity proxies for the model input. The results suggest that GEC mainly depends on solar activity and the seasonal variations; the latter is also modulated by solar activity. Furthermore, the magnitude of semiannual variation is a little greater than that of annual varia- tion. | 16 | Detecting Primary Precursors of January Surface Air Temperature Anomalies in China显示文摘This study aims to detect the primary precursors and impact mechanisms for January surface temperature anomaly(JSTA) events in China against the background of global warming, by comparing the causes of two extreme JSTA events occurring in 2008 and 2011 with the common mechanisms inferred from all typical episodes during 1979–2008. The results show that these two extreme events exhibit atmospheric circulation patterns in the mid–high latitudes of Eurasia, with a positive anomaly center over the Ural Mountains and a negative one to the south of Lake Baikal(UMLB), which is a pattern quite similar to that for all the typical events. However, the Eurasian teleconnection patterns in the 2011 event, which are accompanied by a negative phase of the North Atlantic Oscillation, are different to those of the typical events and the 2008 event. We further find that a common anomalous signal appearing in early summer over the tropical Indian Ocean may be responsible for the following late-winter Eurasian teleconnections and the associated JSTA events in China. We show that sea surface temperature anomalies(SSTAs) in the preceding summer over the western Indian Ocean(WIO) are intimately related to the UMLB-like circulation pattern in the following January. Positive WIOSSTAs in early summer tend to induce strong UMLB-like circulation anomalies in January, which may result in anomalously or extremely cold events in China, which can also be successfully reproduced in model experiments. | 19 | Molecular breeding of water lily: engineering cold stress tolerance into tropical water lily显示文摘Water lilies(order Nymphaeales)are rich in both economic and cultural values.They grow into aquatic herbs,and are divided into two ecological types:tropical and hardy.Although tropical water lilies have more ornamental and medicinal values compared to the hardy water lily,the study and utilization of tropical water lilies in both landscaping and pharmaceutical use is greatly hindered due to their limited planting area.Tropical water lilies cannot survive the winter in areas beyond 24.3°N latitude.Here,the transgenic pipeline through the pollen-tube pathway was generated for water lily for the first time.To improve cold stress tolerance of tropical water lilies,a gene encoding choline oxidase(CodA)driven by a cold stress-inducible promoter was transformed into a tropical water lily through the pollen-tube transformation.Six independent transgenic lines were tested for survival rate during two winter seasons from 2015 to 2017 in Hangzhou(30.3°N latitude).PCR and southern blot detection revealed that the CodA gene had been integrated into the genome.Reverse transcription PCR showed that CodA gene was induced after cold stress treatment,and further quantitative real-time PCR revealed different expressions among six 4 lines and line 3 had the highest expression.Multiple physiological experiments showed that after cold stress treatment,both the conductivity and malondialdehyde(MDA)levels from transgenic plants were significantly lower than those of non-transgenic plants,whereas the content of betaine and the activity of superoxide dismutase,catalase,and peroxidase were higher than those from non-transgenic plants.These results suggest that expression of exogenous CodA gene significantly improved the cold stress tolerance of tropical water lilies through a wide range of physiological alterations.Our results currently expanded a six-latitude cultivating area of the tropical water lilies.These results not only illuminate the bright future for water lily breeding but will also facilitate the functional genomic studies. | Cuiwei Yu Guirong Qiao Wenmin Qiu Dongbei Yu Shirong Zhou Yan Shen Guanchun Yu Jing Jiang Xiaojiao Han Mingying Liu Liangsheng Zhang Fei Chen Yuchu Chen Renying Zhuo | 2018 | Horticulture Research2018,5,1: | 4 |
| 20 | Nonuniform stretch processing for the range profile of a target with micro-motion显示文摘Complex motions such as micro-motions induce complex range-Doppler coupling effect in radar imaging. Hence, it is a challenge to reconstruct a clear range profile of a target with micro-motion. Stretch processing with fine motion compensation cannot perform well while it ties to eliminate the distortion of range profile caused by Doppler effect, because it is difficult to accurately estimate each scattering center velocity during coherent processing interval. Based on nonuniform stretch processing (NSP), a new technology is proposed to decouple range, time and Doppler and then achieve range profile of target with micro-motion. The new technology uses a new synthetic wide-band waveform and has an innovative mathematic interpretation. Statistical properties of the new approach are primarily examined. Typical models of target with micro-motion for high resolution radar are presented.
