2Effect of ginseng polysaccharides and dendritic cells on the balance of Th1/Th2 T helper cells in patients with non-small cell lung cancer显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of thorascopic administration of ginseng polysaccharides(GPS)plus dendritic cells(DC) on T helper cell type 1/T helper cell type 2(Th1/Th2) balance in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).METHODS: A total of 96 NSCLC patients were divided evenly into two groups. The control group was treated with DCs alone and the treatment group was treated with DCs plus GPS. After DCs and GPS were administered thoracoscopically, once a week,4 times for 30 days, the patients' quality of life was measured with the Functional Assessment of Can-cer Treatment-Lung(FACT-L) questionnaire before and after treatment. Serum interferon-γ(INF-γ), interleukin-4(IL-4), IL-2 and IL-5 were examined before and after treatments.RESULTS: The level of Th1 cytokines(INF-γ, IL-2)and the ratio of Th1/Th2 cytokines(INF-γ/IL-4, IL-2/IL-5) increased in both treatment groups, while Th2cytokines(IL-4, IL-5) and FACT-L scores decreased(P<0.01). Furthermore, after treatment Th1 cytokines(INF-γ, IL-2) and the ratio of Th1/Th2 cytokines(INF-γ/IL-4, IL-2/IL-5) were higher in the DCs +GPS group than in the control group(P<0.05). Conversely, FACT-L scores and Th2 cytokines(IL-4, IL-5)were higher in the control group than in the DCs +GPS group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION: The treatment regime of DCs plus GPS had a greater effect on NSCLC patients' immune function as compared with DCs alone. This was evident by increased expression of Th1 cytokines(INF-γ, IL-2) and the ratio of Th1/Th2(INF-γ/IL-4, IL-2/IL-5), as well as by decreased FACT-L scores and the expression of Th2 cytokines(IL-4,IL-5).Junjie Ma Huiping Liu Xiaolong Wang 2014Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,6:41

8Pulse changes in patients with cervical spondylosis before and after acupuncture treatment显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To study changes in pulse diagram parameters(PDP) in patients with cervical spondylosis(CS) before and after acupuncture treatment, explore the characteristics of PDP and the relationship between PDP changes and therapeutic effectiveness, and provide evidence for outcome prediction and objective evaluation of CS treatment before and after acupuncture treatment.METHODS: Patients with CS were treated with acupuncture and measured with a pulse acquisition device based on image(PADBI) before the first and after the tenth acupuncture sessions. Changes in PDP from before until after the acupuncture sessions and patient impressions were analyzed to judge the effect of acupuncture treatment for.RESULTS: The PDP values in effective patients were closer to normal values. This indicated that Qi stagnation and blood stasis of the patients was improved. The PDP changes from before to after the first acupuncture treatment were more obvious than those from before to after the tenth acupuncture treatment. This result indicates that the speed of symptom improvement decreased significantly after several acupuncture courses. Analysis of correlation between efficacy and PDP showed that the changes in PDP in five patients was abnormal, which mainly manifested as values of h1, u, p, Pp,and t1, and no significant changes or differences were increased with standard values. This indicated that the symptoms of CS were not improved in these patients.CONCLUSION: PADBI can provide evidence for outcome prediction of acupuncture treatment in patients with CS. PADBI can provide evidence for objective evaluation of acupuncture treatment of CS.Zhang Huiyu Guo Minfang Lu Xiaozuo 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,1:34

14Relationship between Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Type and Coronary Arteriography of Acute Coronary Syndrome显示文摘Objective: To explore the relationship of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Syndrome type and coronary arteriography (CAG) with respect to the number and degree of stenosed branches of coronary artery (CA) and ACC/AHA stage of acute coronary syndrome (ACS), to provide an objective evidence for TCM Syndrome typing on ACS.Methods: Ninety patients of ACS with their TCM Syndrome typing and CAG successfully conducted were enrolled in this study. They were classified into 3 Syndrome types, the blood stasis type (typeⅠ), the phlegm stagnant with blood stasis type (typeⅡ), and the endogenous collateral Wind type (typeⅢ). The scores of the number and severity of the stenosis branch of CA and ACC/AHA lesion stage in different Syndrome types were calculated respectively and analysed statistically by Ridit analysis. Results: The number of stenosed branches increased gradually with the Syndrome type changing from Ⅰ→Ⅱ→Ⅲ, compared the type Ⅲ with the other two types(P<0.01). The severity of stenosis in typeⅠ and Ⅱ were similar, but that of Type Ⅲ, much aggravated was significantly different from that in the former two (P<0.01). The ACC/AHA stage of coronary lesion tended to be more complex as the Syndrome type changed, patients of TCM typeⅠ and Ⅱ had mostly lesion of stage A or B1 , while lesion in majority of patients of type Ⅲ belonged to stage B2 or C, comparison between the three types showed significant difference (P<0.01). Conclusion: Most ACS patients of TCM Syndrome type Ⅲ with tri-branch, severe stenosed coronary arteries, belong to the complex ACC/AHA stage of B2 and C.王显 林钟香 葛均波 张振贤 沈琳 2003Chinese Journal of Integrated Traditional and Western Medicine2003,9,2:30

17Panax notoginseng saponins ameliorates experimental hepatic fibrosis and hepatic stellate cell proliferation by inhibiting the Jak2/Stat3 pathways显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the inhibitory effect of Panax notoginseng saponins(PNS) on liver fibrosis and explore the underlying mechanisms.METHODS: Carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-treated rats and hepatic stellate cells(HSCs) were used. The effect of PNS on CCl4-induced liver fibrosis was studied with histochemical and biochemical analysis.Transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1, α-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA), and collagen Ι m RNA expression were determined by reverse transcriptase-polymerase chain reaction(RT-PCR). Meanwhile, the protein expression levels of α-SMA, collagen Ι, phosphorylation-Janus activated kinase signal transducer(p-Jak2) / Jak2, and phosphorylation-activator of transcription(p-Stat)3 / Stat3 were determined by immunohistochemistry and / or immunoblotting.RESULTS: PNS treatment significantly improved the liver function of rats as indicated by decreased serum enzymatic activities of alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase. Histopathological results indicated that PNS alleviated liver damage and reduced the formation of fibrous septa. Moreover, PNS significantly decreased liver hydroxyproline and significantly attenuated expressions of collagen Ⅰ, α-SMA, TGF-β1, p-Jak2 / Jak2,and p-Stat3 / Stat3 in the rat liver fibrosis model and HSCs.CONCLUSION: PNS can relieve liver fibrosis by modulating Jak2/Stat3 signaling transduction pathway, which may be one of its mechanisms to suppress hepatic fibrosis.Jiang Hui Gao Jiarong Wang Yongzhong Zhang Jiafu Han Yanquan Wei Liangbing Liu Xiaochuang Wu Jian 2016Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2016,36,2:28
