| 1 | Effects of resveratrol on hydrogen peroxide-induced oxidative stress in embryonic neural stem cells显示文摘Resveratrol,a natural phenolic compound,has been shown to prevent cardiovascular diseases and cancer and exhibit neuroprotective effects.In this study,we examined the neuroprotective and antioxidant effects of resveratrol against hydrogen peroxide in embryonic neural stem cells.Hydrogen peroxide treatment alone increased catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities but did not change superoxide dismutase levels compared with hydrogen peroxide + resveratrol treatment.Nitric oxide synthase activity and concomitant nitric oxide levels increased in response to hydrogen peroxide treatment.Conversely,resveratrol treatment decreased nitric oxide synthase activity and nitric oxide levels.Resveratrol also attenuated hydrogen peroxide-induced nuclear or mitochondrial DNA damage.We propose that resveratrol may be a promising agent for protecting embryonic neural stem cells because of its potential to decrease oxidative stress by inducing higher activity of antioxidant enzymes,decreasing nitric oxide production and nitric oxide synthase activity,and alleviating both nuclear and mitochondrial DNA damage. | Sibel Konyalioglu Guliz Armagan Ayfer Yalcin Cigdem Atalayin Taner Dagci | 2013 | Neural Regeneration Research2013，8，6： | 5 |
| 2 | Effect of colouring green stage zirconia on the adhesion of veneering ceramics with different thermal expansion coefficients显示文摘This study evaluated the adhesion of zirconia core ceramics with their corresponding veneering ceramics, having different thermal expansion coefficients(TECs), when zirconia ceramics were coloured at green stage. Zirconia blocks(N5240; 6 mm37 mm37 mm) were manufactured from two materials namely, ICE Zirconia(Group 1) and Prettau Zirconia(Group 2). In their green stage, they were randomly divided into two groups. Half of the specimens were coloured with colouring liquid(shade A2). Three different veneering ceramics with different TEC(ICE Ceramic, GC Initial Zr and IPS e.max Ceram) were fired on both coloured and non-coloured zirconia cores. Specimens of high noble alloys(Esteticor Plus) veneered with ceramic(VM 13)(n516) acted as the control group. Core–veneer interface of the specimens were subjected to shear force in the Universal Testing Machine(0.5 mm?min21). Neither the zirconia core material(P50.318) nor colouring(P50.188) significantly affected the results(three-way analysis of variance, Tukey's test). But the results were significantly affected by the veneering ceramic(P50.000). Control group exhibited significantly higher mean bond strength values(45.768) MPa than all other tested groups((27.164.1)2(39.764.7) and(27.465.6)2(35.964.7) MPa with and without colouring, respectively)(P,0.001). While in zirconia–veneer test groups, predominantly mixed type of failures were observed with the veneering ceramic covering,1/3 of the substrate surface, in the metal–ceramic group, veneering ceramic was left adhered.1/3 of the metal surface. Colouring zirconia did not impair adhesion of veneering ceramic, but veneering ceramic had a significant influence on the core–veneer adhesion. | 14 | A Revision Model in Writing for Novice Writers with a Focus on Audience and Feedback显示文摘Revision is a complex,yet important phase in writing to improve the quality of a text.Some revision models are created to explain its components and the ways these components work.However,analysis of available models shows that they are proposed mainly for expert writers,who can complete the complex revision process individually,without the need of support or feedback.Most of the available revision models also do not include audience as a component.Therefore,the purpose of this paper is to introduce an alternative revision model for novice writers at or higher than highschool level with a focus on audience and feedback.First,the definition of revision is made,which is followed by summaries of the importance of audience and feedback in writing.Second,available revision models in literature that serves as the basis of the alternative model are reviewed.Finally,the alternative revision model is introduced with its components and the way these components work is explained.The revision model presented in this paper will contribute to literature on writing by filling the gap in revision models by proposing a model for novice writers and highlighting the importance of audience and feedback. | Guliz Turgut Dost | 2019 | Journal of Contemporary Educational Research2019，3，1： | 0 |
