1GPS-constrained inversion of present-day slip rates along major faults of the Sichuan-Yunnan region, China显示文摘A linked-fault-element model is employed to invert for contemporary slip rates along major active faults in the Sichuan-Yunnan region (96°-108°E, 21°-35°N) using the least squares method. The model is based on known fault geometry, and constrained by a GPS-derived horizontal velocity field. Our results support a model attributing the eastward extrusion of the Tibetan Plateau driven mainly by the north-northeastward indentation of the Indian plate into Tibet and the gravitational collapse of the plateau. Resisted by a relatively stable south China block, materials of the Sichuan-Yunnan region rotate clockwise around the eastern Himalayan tectonic syntaxis. During the process the Garzê-Yushu, Xianshuihe, Anninghe, Zemuhe, Daliangshan, and Xiaojiang faults, the southwest extension of the Xiaojiang fault, and the Daluo-Jinghong and Mae Chan faults constitute the northeast and east boundaries of the eastward extrusion, with their left slip rates being 0.3-14.7, 8.9-17.1, 5.1 ± 2.5, 2.8 ± 2.3, 7.1 ± 2.1, 9.4 ± 1.2, 10.1 ± 2.0, 7.3 ± 2.6, and 4.9 ± 3.0 mm/a respectively. The southwestern boundary consists of a widely distributed dextral transpressional zone other than a single fault. Right slip rates of 4.2 ± 1.3, 4.3 ± 1.1, and 8.5 ± 1.7 mm/a are detected across the Nanhua-Chuxiong-Jianshui, Wuliangshan, and Longling-Lancang faults. Crustal deformation across the Longmenshan fault is weak, with short-ening rates of 1.4 ± 1.0 and 1.6 ± 1.3 mm/a across the Baoxing-Beichuan and Beichuan-Qingchuan segments. Northwest of the Longmenshan fault lies an active deformation zone (the Longriba fault) with 5.1±1.2 mm/a right slip across. Relatively large slip rates are detected across a few faults within the Sichuan-Yunnan block: 4.4±1.3 mm/a left slip and 2.7±1.1 mm/a shortening across the Litang fault, and 2.7±2.3 mm/a right-lateral shearing and 6.7±2.3 mm/a shortening across the Yunongxi fault and its surrounding regions. In conclusion, we find that the Sichuan-Yunnan region is divided into more than a dozen active micro-blocks by a large number of faults with relatively slow slip rates. The eastward extrusion of the Tibetan Plateau is absorbed and adjusted in the region mainly by these faults, other than a small number of large strike-slip faults with fast slip rates.WANG YanZhao WANG EnNing SHEN ZhengKang WANG Min GAN WeiJun QIAO XueJun MENG GuoJie LI TieMing TAO Wei YANG YongLin CHENG Jia LI Peng 2008Science China Earth Sciences2008,51,9:65

3Effect of thermomechanical treatment on microstructure and properties of Cu-Cr-Zr-Ag alloy显示文摘The effects of thermomechanical treatment on the properties and microstructure of Cu-Cr-Zr alloy and Cu-Cr-Zr-Ag alloy were investigated. Ag addition improves the mechanical properties of the alloy through solid solution strengthening and brings a little effect on the electrical conductivity of the alloy. A new Cu-Cr-Zr-Ag alloy was developed, which has an excellent combination of the tensile strength, elongation, and electrical conductivity reaching 476.09 MPa, 15.43% and 88.68% IACS respectively when subjected to the optimum thermomechanical treatment, i.e., solution-treating at 920°C for 1 h, cold drawing to 96% deformation, followed by aging at 400°C for 3 h. TEM analysis re-vealed two kinds of finely dispersed precipitates of Cr and Cu4Zr. It is very important to use the mechanisms of solid solution strengthening, work hardening effect as well as precipitate pinning effect of dislocations to improve tensile strength of the alloy without adversely affecting its electrical conductivity.XIE Haofeng MI Xujun HUANG Guojie GAO Baodong YIN Xiangqian LI Yanfeng 2011Rare Metals2011,30,6:17
4Entransy and entropy revisited显示文摘Entransy, a recently developed concept, is the central physical quantity characterizing heat transfer processes not related to heat-to-work conversions. The entransy of an object pertains to the nature of the potential energy of heat in a thermal field and describes its heat transfer ability. In the present study, we revisit this concept, and develop its relationship to state and process quantities. This then enables a direct comparison to the more familiar concept, entropy, the central physical quantity in thermody- namics. The comparison helps to identify the role entransy has in heat transfer processes and highlight under what conditions state and process quantities related to entransy can be distinguished in such processes. As to embody the entransy loss due to work expended between the system and its environment for the irreversible heat conduction in gases, new quantities, available entransy flow and available system entransy are introduced. Both the entransy of solids and the available system entransy of gases are state quantities and their changes correspond to the entransy flow and the available entransy flow respectively. Thus there is no need to stress the difference between process quantity and state quantity in heat transfer.HU GuoJie CAO BingYang GUO ZengYuan 2011Chinese Science Bulletin2011,56,27:13
5Impact of the Wenchuan Earthquake on Tourism in Sichuan,China显示文摘An intensive earthquake, the Wenchuan Earthquake of 8.0 on the Richter scale, struck western Sichuan, China on May 12, 2008. The earthquake has tremendously affected all industries in the quake-hit areas, with no exception of the local tourism. The study of the effect of the earthquake on tourism enriches the theory of tourism, and more importantly, it well serves as the foundation for policy making. The objective of this study is to outline for readers the empirical findings on the various ways that the earthquake affected the operations and viability of tourism in the quake-hit areas. This paper is mainly divided into 3 parts. The first part is to discuss the importance of tourism in the quake-hit areas. The second is to analyze the influencing factors of tourism. The third is to assess the impact of the earthquake on tourism in Sichuan in different seasons.YANG Weiqiong CHEN Guojie WANG Daojie 2008Journal of Mountain Science2008,5,3:11
6SDOG-based multi-scale 3D modeling and visualization on global lithosphere显示文摘The structure of global lithosphere is very important to the scientific researches of tectonic movement, geodynamic process, mantle convection, resource exploration, and disaster prevention and reduction. Three-dimensional (3D) spatial modelling and visualization is an effective tool for lithosphere researches. However, both the isoline/profile methods and the Euclidean-based 3D modelling methods cannot meet the requirement of real 3D modeling of global lithosphere, whereas the recently developed global 3D grid methods have some defects on grid design, such as grid shrinkage, overlapping, non-orthogonality, and nonlatitude-longitude consistency. In this paper, Spheroid Degenerated-Octree Grid (SDOG), a non-overlapping, non-shrinking, orthogonal, latitude-longitude consistent grid in the spheroidal manifold space, was chosen as the basic grid for global lithosphere 3D modeling and visualization. The SDOG-based methods of spatial representation and modelling of lithosphere were proposed. A multi-scale model of lithosphere was designed, and the multi-scale modeling and multi-mode visualization were realized at the full advantages of SDOG in multi-hierarchical and multi-resolution and the properties of lithosphere in multi-semantic. It shows that (1) the SDOG-based method has not only overcome the defects of the current global 3D grid, but also reflected the spherical features of lithosphere more realistically and naturally than the traditional methods, providing a novel solution for global modeling, numeric simulating, and data sharing of lithosphere; and (2) more detailed plates division, more precise geo-layer structure, plates boarder and surface concave-convex, and more rich lithosphere properties are revealed as the scale-model moves on.YU JieQing WU LiXin ZI GuoJie GUO ZengZhang 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,6:11
7Revolutionizing immunology with single-cell RNA sequencing显示文摘The immune system is composed of a complex hierarchy of cell types that protect the organism against disease and maintain homeostasis.Identifying heterogeneity of immune cells is the key to understanding the immune system.Advanced single-cell RNA sequencing(scRNA-seq)technologies are revolutionizing our ability to study immunology.By measuring transcriptomes at the single-cell level,scRNA-seq enables identification of cellular heterogeneity in far greater detail than conventional methods. In this review,we introduce the existing scRNA-seq technologies and present their strengths and weaknesses. We also discuss potential applications and future innovations of scRNA-seq in immunology.Haide Chen Fang Ye Guoji Guo 2019Cellular & Molecular Immunology2019,16,3:10
8Anomalous crustal movements before great Wenchuan earthquake observed by GPS显示文摘Studies of GPS data carried out before and after the great Wenchuan earthquake of Ms8.0 on May 12,2008 show that anomalous crustal movements occurred before the earthquake.Data from 4 pre-earthquake observation sessions at a dense network of stations show that there were prominent broad-ranged long-and mid-term anomalies in horizontal displacements and strain and in vertical displacements.Data from the fewer-numbered reference stations of continuous GPS observations since 1999 in West and South China showed short-term preseismic anomalies in horizontal displacements. The detection of co-seismic horizontal displacements at these stations supports the existence of the pre-earthquake anomalies. Results of single-epoch solutions of data from continuous-observation stations near the epicenter also show large imminent anomalies in vertical displacements.Although the Wenchuan earthquake was not predicted, these results give a strong indication that GPS should be the main observation technique for long-term,mid-term,short-term and imminent earthquake predictions.Gu Guohua Meng Guojie Wang Wuxing 2011Geodesy and Geodynamics2011,2,2:10
9New Technique of Casting-rolling Strips for Semi-solid Magnesium Alloys显示文摘The conjugation of semi-solid process technique and casting-rolling technique applied to produce the magnesium stripswas studied. The semi-solid slurry has been prepared continuously by the mechanical method and its temperaturewas controlled strictly at the same time. AZ91D and AZ31 casting magnesium alloys were applied to the experiment. The casting-rolling strips with non-dendritic structure were obtained and its main mechanical property is better. Theprocess ability of the casting-rolling strips was studied. It is significative to link the semi-solid process techniques andcasting-rolling techniques, through which we can get high quality magnesium alloy strips with non-dendritic structureand improve the overall properties of the products.Shuisheng XIE Maopeng GENG Xinmin ZHOU Ying ZHANG Songyang ZHANG Yanchun WANG Guojie HUANG 2005Journal of Materials Science & Technology2005,21,6:9
10Mild hypothermia for treatment of diffuse axonal injury: a quantitative analysis of diffusion tensor imaging显示文摘Fractional anisotropy values in diffusion tensor imaging can quantitatively reflect the consistency of nerve fibers after brain damage, where higher values generally indicate less damage to nerve fibers. Therefore, we hypothesized that diffusion tensor imaging could be used to evaluate the effect of mild hypothermia on diffuse axonal injury. A total of 102 patients with diffuse axonal injury were randomly divided into two groups: normothermic and mild hypothermic treatment groups. Patient's modified Rankin scale scores 2 months after mild hypothermia were significantly lower than those for the normothermia group. The difference in average fractional anisotropy value for each region of interest before and after mild hypothermia was 1.32–1.36 times higher than the value in the normothermia group. Quantitative assessment of diffusion tensor imaging indicates that mild hypothermia therapy may be beneficial for patients with diffuse axonal injury.Guojie Jing Xiaoteng Yao Yiyi Li Yituan Xie Wang’an Li Kejun Liu Yingchao Jing Baisheng Li Yifan Lv Baoxin Ma 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,2:9
11Acupuncture and moxibustion reduces neuronal edema in Alzheimer's disease rats显示文摘To examine the possible correlation of aberrant Wnt signaling and pathological changes in Alzheimer's disease, we established a rat model of Alzheimer's disease and measured axin and β-catenin expression in the hippocampus. Rats were pretreated with moxibustion or electroacu-puncture, or both, at Baihui(GV20) and Shenshu(BL23). Axin expression was lower, β-catenin expression was greater, and neuronal cytoplasmic edema was visibly prevented in the rats that had received the pretreatments. Our results suggest that the mechanism underlying the neuro-protective effect of acupuncture and moxibustion in Alzheimer's disease is associated with axin and β-catenin expression in the Wnt signal transduction pathway.Hua Zhou Guojie Sun Lihong Kong Yanjun Du Feng Shen Shuju Wang Bangguo Chen Xiaoling Zeng 2014Neural Regeneration Research2014,9,9:8
12Inositol Pyrophosphate lnsP8 Acts as an Intracellular Phosphate Signal in Arabidopsis显示文摘The maintenance of cellular phosphate(Pi)homeostasis is of great importance in living organisms. The SPX domain-containing protein 1(SPX1)proteins from both Arabidopsis and rice have been proposed to act as sensors of Pi status. The molecular signal indicating the cellular Pi status and regulating Pi homeostasis in plants, however, remains to be identified,as Pi itself does not bind to the SPX domain. Here,we report the identification of the inositol pyrophosphate lnsP8 as a signaling molecule that regulates Pi homeostasis in Arabidopsis.Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis profiling of InsPs revealed that lnsP8 level positively correlates with cellular Pi concentration. We demonstrated that the homologs of diphosphoinositol pentaki-sphosphate kinase(PPIP5K),VIH1 and VIH2,function redundantly to synthesize lnsP8,and that the vih1 vih2 double mutant overaccumulates Pi.SPX1 directly interacts with PHR1,the central regulator of Pi starvation responses,to inhibit its function under Pi-replete conditions. However, this interaction is compromised in the vih1 vih2 double mutant, resulting in the constitutive induction of Pi starvation-induced genes, indicating that plant cells cannot sense cellular Pi status without lnsP8.Furthermore,we showed that lnsP8 could directly bind to the SPX domain of SPX1 and is essential for the interaction between SPX1 and PHR1.Collectively,our study suggests that lnsP8 is the intracellular Pi signaling molecule serving as the ligand of SPX1 for controlling Pi homeostasis in plants.Jinsong Dong Guojie Ma Liqian Sui Mengwei Wei Viswanathan Satheesh Ruyue Zhang Shenghong Ge Jinkai Li Tong-En Zhang Christopher Wittwer Henning JJessen Huiming Zhang Guo-Yong An Dai-Yin Chao Dong Liu Mingguang Lei 2019Molecular Plant2019,12,11:8

14Modeling permafrost properties in the Qinghai-Xizang(Tibet) Plateau显示文摘Water and heat dynamics in the active layer at a monitoring site in the Tanggula Mountains, located in the permafrost region of the Qinghai-Xizang(Tibet) Plateau(QXP), were studied using the physical-process-based COUPMODEL model, including the interaction between soil temperature and moisture under freeze-thaw cycles. Meteorological, ground temperature and moisture data from different depths within the active layer were used to calibrate and validate the model. The results indicate that the calibrated model satisfactorily simulates the soil temperatures from the top to the bottom of the soil layers as well as the moisture content of the active layer in permafrost regions. The simulated soil heat flux at depths of 0 to 20 cm was consistent with the monitoring data, and the simulations of the radiation balance components were reasonable. Energy consumed for phase change was estimated from the simulated ice content during the freeze/thaw processes from 2007 to 2008. Using this model, the active layer thickness and the energy consumed for phase change were predicted for future climate warming scenarios. The model predicts an increase of the active layer thickness from the current 330 cm to approximately 350–390 cm as a result of a 1–2°C warming. However, the effect active layer thickness of more precipitation is limited when the precipitation is increased by 20%–50%. The COUPMODEL provides a useful tool for predicting and understanding the fate of permafrost in the QXP under a warming climate.HU GuoJie ZHAO Lin WU XiaoDong LI Ren WU TongHua XIE ChangWei PANG QiangQiang XIAO Yao LI WangPing QIAO YongPing SHI JianZong 2015Science China Earth Sciences2015,58,12:7
15863 genomes reveal the origin and domestication of chicken显示文摘Despite the substantial role that chickens have played in human societies across the world, both the geographic and temporal origins of their domestication remain controversial. To address this issue,we analyzed 863 genomes from a worldwide sampling of chickens and representatives of all four species of wild jungle fowl and each of the five subspecies of red jungle fowl(RJF).Our study suggests that domestic chickens were initially derived from the RJF subspecies Gallus gallus spadiceus whose present-day distribution is predominantly in southwestern China, northern Thailand and Myanmar.Following their domestication, chickens were translocated across Southeast and South Asia where they interbred locally with both RJF subspecies and other jungle fowl species. In addition, our results show that the White Leghorn chicken breed possesses a mosaic of divergent ancestries inherited from other subspecies of RJF.Despite the strong episodic gene flow from geographically divergent lineages of jungle fowls, our analyses show that domestic chickens undergo genetic adaptations that underlie their unique behavioral, morphological and reproductive traits. Our study provides novel insights into the evolutionary history of domestic chickens and a valuable resource to facilitate ongoing genetic and functional investigations of the world's most numerous domestic animal.Ming-Shan Wang Mukesh Thakur Min-Sheng Peng Yu Jiang Laurent Alain Francois Frantz Ming Li Jin-Jin Zhang Sheng Wang Joris Peters Newton Otieno Otecko Chatmongkon Suwannapoom Xing Guo Zhu-Qing Zheng Ali Esmailizadeh Nalini Yasoda Hirimuthugoda Hidayat Ashari Sri Suladari Moch Syamsul Arifin Zein Szilvia Kusza Saeed Sohrabi Hamed Kharrati-Koopaee Quan-Kuan Shen Lin Zeng Min-Min Yang Ya-Jiang Wu Xing-Yan Yang Xue-Mei Lu Xin-Zheng Jia Qing-Hua Nie Susan Joy Lamont Emiliano Lasagna Simone Ceccobelli Humpita Gamaralalage Thilini Nisanka Gunwardana Thilina Madusanka Senasige Shao-Hong Feng Jing-Fang Si Hao Zhang Jie-Qiong Jin Ming-Li Li Yan-Hu Liu Hong-Man Chen Cheng Ma Shan-Shan Dai Abul Kashem Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan Muhammad Sajjad Khan Gamamada Liyanage Lalanie Pradeepa Silva Thi-Thuy Le Okeyo Ally Mwai Mohamed Nawaz Mohamed Ibrahim Megan Supple Beth Shapiro Olivier Hanotte Guojie Zhang Greger Larson Jian-Lin Han Dong-Dong Wu Ya-Ping Zhang 2020Cell Research2020,30,8:7
16A draft sequence of the rice (Oryza sativa ssp. indica) genome显示文摘The sequence of the rice genome holds fundamental information for its biology, including physiology, genetics, development, and evolution, as well as information on many beneficial phenotypes of economic significance. Using a 'whole genome shotgun' approach, we have pro-duced a draft rice genome sequence of Oryza sativa ssp. in-dica, the major crop rice subspecies in China and many other regions of Asia. The draft genome sequence is constructed from over 4.3 million successful sequencing traces with an accumulative total length of 2214.9 Mb. The initial assembly of the non-redundant sequences reached 409.76 Mb in length, based on 3.30 million successful sequencing traces with a total length of 1797.4 Mb from an indica variant cultivar 93-11, giving an estimated coverage of 95.29% of the rice genome with an average base accuracy of higher than 99%. 17Melatonin enhances radiofrequency-induced NK antitumor immunity, causing cancer metabolism reprogramming and inhibition of multiple pulmonary tumor development显示文摘Surgery is the comm on treatme nt for early lung cancer with multiple pulm onary no dules, but it is often accompanied by the problem of significant malignancy of other nodules in non-therapeutic areas. In this study,we found that a combined treatment of local rad iofreq ue ncy ablati on(RFA)and melatonin(MLT)greatly improved clinical outcomes for early lung cancer patie nts with multiple pulmonary nodules by minimizing lung function injury and reducing the probability of malignant transformation or enlargement of nodules in non-ablated areas.Mechanically,as demonstrated in an associated mouse lung tumor model,RFA not only effectively remove treated tumors but also stimulate antitumor immunity, which could inhibit tumor growth in non-ablated areas.MLT enhanced RFA-stimulated NK activity and exerted synergistic antitumor effects with RFA.Transcriptomics and proteomics analyses of residual tumor tissues revealed enhanced oxidative phosphorylation and reduced acidification as well as hypoxia in the tumor microenvironment, which suggests reprogrammed tumor metabolism after combined treatment with RFA and MLT.Analysis of residual tumor further revealed the depressed activity of MAPK,NF-kappa B,Wnt,and Hedgehog pathways and upregulated P53 pathway in tumors, which was in line with the inhibited tumor growth.Combined RFA and MLT treatment also reversed the Warburg effect and decreased tumor malignancy. These findings thus demonstrated that combined treatment of RFA and MLT effectively inhibited the malignancy of non-ablated nodules and provided an innovative non-invasive strategy for treating early lung tumors with multiple pulmonary nodules.Trial registration:www.chictr.org.cn,identifier ChiCTR2100042695,http://www.chictr.org.cn/showproj.aspx?proj=120931.Ming Li Bingjie Hao Menghuan Zhang Russel J.Reiter Shumeng Lin Tiansheng Zheng Xiangyun Chen Yanbei Ren Liduo Yue Baigenzhin Abay Guojie Chen Xiao Xu Yufeng Shi Lihong Fan 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,10:6
18Two Village Ecosystems in the Upper Minjiang River, China: A Comparison of Emergy Flow显示文摘By using the concept of emergy and method of emergy analysis, this paper has studied two mountain settlement (village) ecosystems in two aspects: input and output of energy in the agro-systems and the use of fuel energy. The result reveals that the settlement agro-system in the valley of Minjiang River is better in both structure and function than that at the so-called half-high mountain. The former one is higher than the latter one regarding such indices as emergy yield ratio, labor productivity of emergy and emergy sustainable index, but lower than the latter one regarding environmental loading ratio. In terms of fuel emergy, the settlement in the valley enjoys more diversified sources and is less depending on bio-energy while the settlement at the half-high mountain has only one source (i. e. fuel wood), much depending on bio-energy, may exert a greater pressure on environment.Chen Yong, Chen Guojie, Wang QingInstitute of Mountain Hazards and Environment, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu 610041, Sichuan, China Institute of Environmental Science and Engineering, Sichuan University, Chengdu 610064, Sichuan, China 2003Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2003,8,03B:6
19Investigation of ionospheric TEC changes related to the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake based on statistic analysis and signal detection显示文摘Ionospheric TEC(total electron content) time series are derived from GPS measurements at 13 stations around the epicenter of the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake.Defining anomaly bounds for a sliding window by quartile and 2-standard deviation of TEC values, this paper analyzed the characteristics of ionospheric changes before and after the destructive event. The Neyman-Pearson signal detection method is employed to compute the probabilities of TEC abnormalities.Result shows that one week before the Wenchuan earthquake, ionospheric TEC over the epicenter and its vicinities displays obvious abnormal disturbances, most of which are positive anomalies. The largest TEC abnormal changes appeared on May 9,three days prior to the seismic event.Signal detection shows that the largest possibility of TEC abnormity on May 9 is 50.74%,indicating that ionospheric abnormities three days before the main shock are likely related to the preparation process of the MS8.0 Wenchuan earthquake.Jianyong Li Guojie Meng Min Wang Hua Liao Xuhui Shen 2009Earthquake Science2009,22,5:6
20Mining geographic episode association patterns of abnormal events in global earth science data显示文摘Abnormal events in earth science have great influence on both the natural envi-ronment and the human society. Finding association patterns among these events has great significance. Because data in earth science has characteristics of mass, high dimension, spatial autocorrelation and time delay, existing mining technolo-gies cannot be directly used on it. We propose a RSNN (range-based searching nearest neighbors) spatial clustering algorithm to reduce the data size and auto-correlation. Based on the clustered data,we propose a GEAM (geographic episode association pattern mining) algorithm which can deal with events time lags and find interesting patterns with specific constraints,to mine the association patterns. We carried out experiments on global climate datasets and found many interesting association patterns. Some of the patterns are coincident with known knowledge in climate science, which indicates the correctness and feasibilities of our methods, and the others are unknown to us before, which will give new information to this research field.WU TianShu,SONG GuoJie,MA XiuJun,XIE KunQing,GAO XiaoPing & JIN XingXing Key Laboratory of Machine Perception,Ministry of Education, and Department of Machine Intelligence,Peking University,Beijing 100871,China 2008Science China(Technological Sciences)2008,51,S1:5
