1An Overview of Mineral Dust Modeling over East Asia显示文摘East Asian dust(EAD) exerts considerable impacts on the energy balance and climate/climate change of the earth system through its influence on solar and terrestrial radiation, cloud properties, and precipitation efficiency. Providing an accurate description of the life cycle and climate effects of EAD is therefore critical to better understanding of climate change and socioeconomic development in East Asia and even worldwide. Dust modeling has undergone substantial development since the late 1990 s, associated with improved understanding of the role of EAD in the earth system. Here, we review the achievements and progress made in recent decades in terms of dust modeling research,including dust emissions, long-range transport, radiative forcing(RF), and climate effects of dust particles over East Asia. Numerous efforts in dust/EAD modeling have been directed towards furnishing more sophisticated physical and chemical processes into the models on higher spatial resolutions. Meanwhile, more systematic observations and more advanced retrieval methods for instruments that address EAD related science issues have made it possible to evaluate model results and quantify the role of EAD in the earth system, and to further reduce the uncertainties in EAD simulations. Though much progress has been made, large discrepancies and knowledge gaps still exist among EAD simulations. 2Machining deformation of single-sided component based on finishing allowance optimization显示文摘Owing to reliability and high strength-to-weight ratio,large thin-walled components are widely used in the aviation and aerospace industry.Due to the complex features and sequence involved in the machining process of large thin-walled components,machining deformation of component is easy to exceed the specification.In order to address the problem,it is important to retain the appropriate finishing allowance.To find the overall machining deformation,finishing allowance-induced deformation(web finishing allowance,sidewall finishing allowance)and initial residual stress-induced deformation were considered as major factors.Meanwhile,machined surface residual stress-induced deformation,clamping stress-induced deformation,thermal deformation,gravity-induced deformation and inertial force-induced deformation were neglected in the optimization model.Six-peak Gaussian function was introduced to fit the initial residual stress.Based upon the obtained function of initial residual stress,a deformation prediction model between initial residual stress and finishing allowance was established to attain the finishing allowanceinduced deformation.In addition,linear programming optimization model based on the simplex algorithm was developed to optimize the overall machining deformation.Results have concluded that the overall machining deformation reached the minimum value when sidewall finishing allowance and web finishing allowance varied between 1 and 2 mm.Additionally,web finishing allowance-induced deformation and sidewall finishing allowance-induced deformation were1.05 mm and 0.7 mm.Furthermore,the machining deformation decreased to 0.3–0.38 mm with the application of optimized finishing allowance allocation strategy,which made 39–56%reduction of the overall machining deformation compared to that in conventional method.Xiaoyue LI Liang LI Yinfei YANG Guolong ZHAO Ning HE Xiaocen DING Yaowen SHI Longxin FAN Hui LAN Muhammad JAMIL 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,9:6
3Preparation of Tungsten Film and Its Tribological Properties under Boundary Lubrication Conditions显示文摘Tungsten film(W film) is deposited by using the ion beam assisted deposition(IBAD) on the 316 L substrate surface in this experiment. The micro structure and nano-hardness of the film are investigated by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and nano-indentation tester. The tribological behavior of W film under lubrication by oil with ZDDP and MoDTC is evaluated by a SRV test machine. The tribo-film formed on the worn surfaces is investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) to find out the tribological mechanisms between the W film and the two additional additives. 5Laser-induced oxidation assisted micro milling of high aspect ratio microgroove on WC-Co cemented carbide显示文摘Severe tool wear and poor surface quality are the main problems during micro machining of cemented carbide.In this work,an innovative hybrid process of laser-induced oxidation assisted micro milling(LOMM)was proposed to solve the problems.A nanosecond laser was utilized to induce oxidation of the WC-20%Co material,producing loose oxide which was easy to remove.The micro machinability of the material was improved by laser-induced oxidation.The oxidation mechanisms of cemented carbide were studied.A microgroove with a depth of 2.5 mm and aspect ratio of 5 was fabricated successfully.The milling force,surface quality and tool wear mechanisms were investigated.For comparison,a microgroove was also fabricated with conventional micro milling(COMM)using identical milling parameters.Results revealed that in LOMM the milling force and tool wear rate were extremely low during removing the oxide.The machined surface quality and dimensional accuracy achieved by LOMM were superior to those obtained by COMM.The surface roughness Saof the microgroove bottom reached 88 nm in LOMM,while the cross-sectional geometry of the microgroove was a trapezoid.Perpendicularity of the microgroove sidewall machined by LOMM was better than that by COMM.The tool wear forms in LOMM were coating spalling and slight tool nose breakage.Compared with COMM,the tool life in LOMM was prolonged significantly.It indicates that the proposed hybrid process is an effective and efficient way to fabricate high aspect ratio micro-features with high dimensional accuracy.Guolong ZHAO Hongjun XIA Yang ZHANG Liang LI Ning HE Hans Nφrgaard HANSEN 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,4:3
6A New Method for Fitting Current–Voltage Curves of Planar Heterojunction Perovskite Solar Cells显示文摘Herein we propose a new equivalent circuit including double heterojunctions in series to simulate the current–voltage characteristic of P–I–N planar structure perovskite solar cells. This new method can theoretically solve the dilemma of the parameter diode ideal factor being larger than2 from an ideal single heterojunction equivalent circuit,which usually is in the range from 1 to 2. The diode ideal factor reflects PN junction quality, which influences the recombination at electron transport layer/perovskite and perovskite/hole transport layer interface. Based on the double PN junction equivalent circuit, we can also simulate the dark current–voltage curve for analyzing recombination current(Shockley–Read–Hall recombination) and diffusion current(including direct recombination), and thus carrier recombination and transportation characteristics. 8Energy principle and material removal sequence optimization method in machining of aircraft monolithic parts显示文摘In the machining process of aircraft monolithic parts,the initial residual stress redistribution and structural stiffness evolution often lead to unexpected distortions.On the other hand,the stress redistribution and stiffness reduction during the machining process depend on the material removal sequence.The essence of the stress redistribution is releasing the initial elastic strain energy.In the present study,the influence of the material removal sequence on the energy release is studied.Moreover,a novel optimization method is proposed for the material removal sequence.In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed method,the mechanism of the machining distortion is firstly analyzed based on the energy principle.Then a calculative model for the machining distortion of long beam parts is established accordingly.Moreover,an energy parameter related to the bending distortion and the procedure of the material removal sequence optimization is defined.Finally,the bending distortion analysis and material removal sequence optimization are performed on a long beam with a Z-shaped cross-section.Furthermore,simulation and experiments are carried out.The obtained results indicate that the optimized sequence results in a low distortion fluctuation and decreases the bending distortion.Yinfei YANG Longxin FAN Liang LI Guolong ZHAO Ning HAN Xiaoyue LI Hui TIAN Ning HE 2020Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2020,33,10:2

10Cutting force model and damage formation mechanism in milling of 70wt%Si/Al composite显示文摘High-mass fraction silicon aluminium composite(Si/Al composite) has unique properties of high specific strength, low thermal expansion coefficient, excellent wear resistance and weldability. It has attracted many applications in terms of radar communication, aerospace and automobile industry. However, rapid tool wear resulted from high cutting force and hard abrasion, and damaged machined surfaces are the main problem in machining Si/Al composite. This work aims to reveal the mechanisms of milling-induced damages of 70wt% Si/Al composites. A cutting force analytical model considering the characteristics of both the primary silicon particles and the cutting-edge radius was established. Milling experiments were conducted to verify the validity of the model. The results show that the analytical model exhibits a good consistency with the experimental results, and the error is about 10%. The cutting-edge radius has significant effects on the cutting force, surface roughness and damage formation. With the increase in the cutting-edge radius, both the cutting force and the surface roughness decrease firstly and then increase. When the cutting-edge radius is 27 μm, the surface roughness(Sa) reaches the minimum of 2.3 μm.Milling-induced surface damages mainly contain cracks, pits, scratches, matrix coating and burrs.The damage formation is dominated by the failure mode of primary silicon particles, which includes compressive breakage, intragranular fracture, particle pull-out, and interface debonding. In addition, the high ductility of aluminium matrix leads to matrix coating. 12Petrogenesis of Early Cretaceous adakitic granodiorite: Implication for a crust thickening event within the Cathaysia Block, South China显示文摘Adakitic rocks in continental settings are commonly considered to be formed by partial melting of thickened or delaminated lower crust. Investigations on this kind of rocks can provide important information about crustal evolution complementary to information from other rocks. This paper reports adakitic granodiorite of the Lingxi pluton in the interior of the Cathayisa Block. LA-ICP-MS zircon U-Pb dating shows that it was formed in the late Early Cretaceous(100±1 Ma). The granodiorite has geochemical features of adakitic rocks derived from partial melting of the thickened lower crust, e.g., high SiO2(mainly ranging from 64.4 to 68.9 wt.%) and Sr(624–894 ppm) contents, Sr/Y(49.9–60.8) and La/Yb(23.4–42.8) values, low Y(10.3–17.1 ppm), Ni(5.62–11.8 ppm) and MgO(mostly from 0.86 wt.% to 1.57 wt.%) contents and weak Eu anomaly. It has initial 87Sr/86 Sr ratios of 0.7086–0.7091, εNd(t) values of.6.2 to.5.9 and zircon εHf(t) values mostly of.10.1 to.7.6. Based on the geochemical characteristics and simple modelling, it is suggested that the most likely generation mechanism of the Lingxi granodiorite is partial melting of a thickened Proterozoic lower continental crust at a pressure ≥12 kbar(or crust thickness ≥40km), leaving a garnet-bearing amphibolite residue. Combining our results and previous studies of the tectonic evolution of the Cathaysia Block, we propose that the crust was thickened to over 40 km by a compressive event occurring during the late Early Cretaceous, which is supported by the observation that there is an angular unconformity between the Upper Cretaceous Series and the early Lower Cretaceous or the Jurassic rocks. After this event, the Cathaysia Block experienced a lithospheric extension and thinning probably driven by the high-angle paleo-Pacific subduction. With the attenuation of lithosphere, the lower crust was heated to partial melting by upwelling asthenospheric materials, resulting in generation of the Lingxi granodiorite and other coeval granitoids in the Cathaysia Block. 13Plant vs. Animal Prototype for Designing Bio-inspired PEMFC Flow Fields: Corn Veins or Murray’s Law?显示文摘Designing bio-inspired flow fields holds great potential in improving the performance of Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell(PEMFC).Two kinds of biological prototypes are widely used:plant prototype and animal prototype.It remains a question which one of these prototypes is more appropriate for the scenario of PEMFC.Here,a comparative study was conducted to compare bionic flow fields based on animal and plant prototypes.First,a Corn Leaf Vein Mathematical Model(CLMM)was established by extracting structural parameters from corn leaves of two growth stages.Then the obtained CLMM and well-known Murray’s law were employed to design bionic flow fields corresponding to the plant and animal prototypes,respectively,which have been subsequently compared by numerical investigations.The results demonstrate that the flow field guided by Murray’s law outperforms the counterpart based on the structural parameters of CLMM in terms of PEMFC net output power,mass transport,water management and pressure drop,suggesting that animal circulation system is more suitable to the bionic flow field design of PEMFC than plant leaf veins.The work may also offer valuable insights into the design of other flow fields related to electrochemical energy conversion.Wenxuan Fan Taotao Zhao Ke Jiang Lei Sun Saisai Jia Qianqian Wu Guolong Lu Zhenning Liu 2022Journal of Bionic Engineering2022,19,3:0

17Effect Evaluation of Highway Ecological Restoration Engineering显示文摘Based on the current lack of ecological functional evaluation framework for highway ecological restoration engineering,this study comprehensively considered the negative impact of the highway engineering on the area along the highway under the guidance of restoration ecology,and the improvement and promotion of artificially constructed plant community to the highway ecology environment after restoration.With the ecological restoration function of artificially constructed plant community as the research emphasis,the landscape effect of the highway ecosystem and the key position of the ecosystem service function level in the assessment of ecological restoration effect were highlighted,and a relatively complete and targeted highway ecological restoration effect evaluation system was established.On this basis,this study selected the artificially constructed plant system in a highway ecological restoration project for research,and started with the ecological restoration effect evaluation of four types of ecological restoration objects,and comprehensively evaluated its ecological restoration effect according to the constructed evaluation system.The study found that although the highway ecological restoration engineering had certain effects in improving the plant community level and the ecosystem landscape level,there were still some problems in improving the ecosystem service function level in the short term.Therefore,in the future construction of highway engineering,it is suggested to take the protection and avoidance countmeasures as far as possible in line with the principle of 'ecological benefits',in order to avoid strong disturbances to the highway ecosystem and realize the aim of 'ecological highways' in the true sense.SONG Xia HONG Bo ZHAO Kun CHEN Guolong SUN Zhongye 2018Journal of Landscape Research2018,10,5:0

19A FAMILY OF SUMMARY CHISQUARE TESTS FOR COMPARING SURVIVAL RATES RATHER THAN CONDITIONAL PROBABILITIES DYING显示文摘Objective This paper propses a family of summary chi square tests for comparing survival rates at all points of time between two groups. Methods They are respectively derived from the Peto et al. expression for the log rank test, the Mantel Haenszel expression for the log rank test, and the generalized Wilcoxon test by means of using the homogenetic effective sample size in place of the number at risk and using the corresponding numerator of the conditional probability surviving in place of the death number. Results After such derivations they become clearer in clinical significance, more powerful, and free from the assumption of proportional hazard. Conclusion These tests can be employed in analyzing the clinical data of cancer. 20Oxidation mechanism of high-volume fraction SiCp/Al composite under laser irradiation and subsequent machining显示文摘Conventional mechanical machining of a composite material comprising an aluminum matrix reinforced with a high volume fraction of SiC particles(hereinafter referred to as an SiCp/Al composite)faces problems such as rapid tool wear,high specific cutting force,and poor surface integrity.Instead,a promising method for solving these problems is laser-induced oxidation-assisted milling(LOAM):under laser irradiation,the local workpiece material reacts with oxygen,thus forming loose and porous oxides that are easily removed.In the present work,the oxidation mechanism of SiCp/Al irradiated by a nanosecond pulsed laser is studied to better understand the laser-induced oxidation behavior and control the characteristics of the oxides,with laser irradiation experiments performed on a 65%SiCp/Al composite with various laser parameters and auxiliary gases(oxygen,nitrogen,and argon).With increasing laser pulse energy density,both the ablated groove depth and the width of the heat-affected zone increase.When oxygen is used as the auxiliary gas,an oxide layer composed of SiO_(2)and Al2O3 forms,and CO_(2)is produced and escapes from the material,thereby forming pores in the oxides.However,when nitrogen or argon is used as the auxiliary gas,a recast layer is produced that is relatively difficult to remove.Under laser irradiation,the sputtered material reacts with oxygen to form oxides on both sides of the ablated groove,and as the laser scanning path advances,the produced oxides accumulate to form an oxide layer.LOAM and conventional milling are compared using the same milling parameters,and LOAM is found to be better for reduced milling force and tool wear and improved machined surface quality.Hanliang Liu Guolong Zhao Zhiwen Nian Zhipeng Huang Kai Yang Conghua Liu Peng Wang Zhenkuan Diao 2023Nanotechnology and Precision Engineering2023,6,3:0
