1Invited review:Remediation strategies for mycotoxin control in feed显示文摘Mycotoxins are secondary metabolites of different species of fungi.Aflatoxin B1(AFB1),deoxynivalenol(DON),zearalenone(ZEN)and fumonisin B1(FB1)are the main mycotoxins contaminating animal feedstuffs.These mycotoxins can primarily induce hepatotoxicity,immunotoxicity,neurotoxicity and nephrotoxicity,consequently cause adverse effects on the health and performance of animals.Therefore,physical,chemical,biological and nutritional regulation approaches have been developed as primary strategies for the decontamination and detoxification of these mycotoxins in the feed industry.Meanwhile,each of these techniques has its drawbacks,including inefficient,costly,or impractically applied on large scale.This review summarized the advantages and disadvantages of the different remediation strategies,as well as updates of the research progress of these strategies for AFB1,DON,ZEN and FB1 control in the feed industry.Meng Liu Ling Zhao Guoxin Gong Lei Zhang Lei Shi Jiefan Dai Yanming Han Yuanyuan Wu Mahmoud Mohamed Khalil Lvhui Sun 2022Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,4:8
2A multi-axis robot-based bioprinting system supporting natural cell function preservation and cardiac tissue fabrication显示文摘Despite the recent advances in artificial tissue and organ engineering,how to generate large size viable and functional complex organs still remains as a grand challenge for regenerative medicine.Three-dimensional bioprinting has demonstrated its advantages as one of the major methods in fabricating simple tissues,yet it still faces difficulties to generate vasculatures and preserve cell functions in complex organ production.Here,we overcome the limitations of conventional bioprinting systems by converting a six degree-of-freedom robotic arm into a bioprinter,therefore enables cell printing on 3D complex-shaped vascular scaffolds from all directions.We also developed an oil bath-based cell printing method to better preserve cell natural functions after printing.Together with a self-designed bioreactor and a repeated print-and-culture strategy,our bioprinting system is capable to generate vascularized,contractible,and long-term survived cardiac tissues.Such bioprinting strategy mimics the in vivo organ development process and presents a promising solution for in vitro fabrication of complex organs.Zeyu Zhang Chenming Wu Chengkai Dai Qingqing Shi Guoxin Fang Dongfang Xie Xiangjie Zhao Yong-Jin Liu Charlie CLWang Xiu-Jie Wang 2022Bioactive Materials2022,7,12:4

6A compact liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry instrument for the quantitation of immunosuppressants显示文摘Liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry(LC-MS/MS) plays an important role in clinical diagnostics. Although LC-MS/MS is superior in terms of accurately quantifying molecules in complex matrices,instrument footprint, operation and maintenance complexity also hinder its expansion as the analytical technique of choice. In this study, a compact LC-MS instrument was developed, in which an assembled liquid chromatograph was coupled with a miniature ion trap mass spectrometer. The overall instrument has a footprint of 69 cm × 31 cm × 31 cm, and it requires no gas supply as well as minimum maintenance. Furthermore, the use of LC-MS is in accord with conventional clinical diagnostic protocols, and the choice of ion trap offers tandem MS performance. The results showed that the use of LC could improve both mixture analysis capability and detection sensitivity of the miniature mass spectrometer. After optimization, feasibility of this instrument in clinical practice was demonstrated by the quantitation of four widely used immunosuppressants in blood samples. Relatively good linearities were obtained, which spanned the reference ranges of effective therapeutic concentrations of each immunosuppressant. Intraday and inter-day accuracy and precision of analytical method were also assessed. 7Label-free photoelectric sensor for lactic acid determination in human sweat显示文摘A label-free lactic acid sensor has been successfully developed by using a Dysprosium single crystal-based photoelectric potential technique via Dy-SCN/FTO electrode. Interestingly, the proposed sensor demonstrated excellent performance for L-lactic acid analysis with a wide linear range of 0.0196~16.31 mmol/L,the detection limit of as low as 3.20 μmol/L as well as an advisable stability. The feasibility of this strategy was also verified by practical application towards human sweat samples. The mechanism studies indicated that lactic acid molecules specifically bind to the surface of semiconductor materials, which alters the charge distribution of the electrode surface and subsequently results in band bending/photoelectric potential changes. The theoretical formula for this photoelectric chemistry(PEC) strategy was then derived according to charge balance theory.
