1A standardized dataset of built-up areas of China’s cities with populations over 300,000 for the period 1990-2015显示文摘China’s urbanization has attracted a lot of attention due to its unprecedented pace and intensity in terms of land, population, and economic impact. However, due to the lack of consistent and harmonized data, little is known about the patterns and dynamics of the interaction between these different aspects over the past few decades.Along with the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,a standardized dataset for assessing the sustainability of urbanization in China is needed. In this paper,we used remote sensing data from multiple sources(time-series of Landsat and Sentinel images)to map the impervious surface area(ISA)at five-year intervals from 1990 to 2015 and then converted the results into a standardized dataset of the built-up area for 433 Chinese cities with 300,000 inhabitants or more. This dataset was produced following the well-established rules adopted by the United Nations(UN).Validation of the ISA maps in urban areas based on the visual interpretation of Google Earth images showed that the average overall accuracy(OA),producer’s accuracy(PA)and user’s accuracy(UA)were 91.24%,92.58%and 89.65%,respec-tively.Comparisons with other existing urban built-up area datasets derived from the National Bureau of Statistics of China, the World Bank and UN-habitat indicated that our dataset, namely the stan-dardized urban built-up area dataset for China(SUBAD-China),provides an improved description of the spatiotemporal character-istics of the urbanization process and is especially applicable to a combined analysis of the spatial and socio-economic domains in urban areas.Potential applications of this dataset include combin-ing the spatial expansion and demographic information provided by UN to calculate sustainable development indicators such as SDG 11.3.1.The dataset could also be used in other multidimensional syntheses related to the study of urbanization in China.Huiping Jiang Zhongchang Sun Huadong Guo Qiang Xing Wenjie Du Guoyin Cai 2022Big Earth Data2022,6,1:2
2Jasmonic acid regulates the biosynthesis of medicinal metabolites via the JAZ9-MYB76 complex in Salvia miltiorrhiza显示文摘Jasmonic acid(JA)signaling pathway plays an important role in tanshinone and phenolic acid biosynthesis in Salvia miltiorrhiza. However, the specific regulatory mechanism remains largely unclear.Previous work showed that a JASMONATE ZIM-domain(JAZ)protein,SmJAZ9,acted as a repressor of tanshinone production in S.miltiorrhiza.In this study,we revealed that SmJAZ9 reduced both phenolic acid accumulation and related biosynthetic gene expression, confirming that SmJAZ9 also negatively affected phenolic acid biosynthesis. Then,we identified a novel MYB transcription factor,SmMYB76,which interacted with SmJAZ9.SmMYB76 repressed phenolic acid biosynthesis by directly downregulating SmPAL1,Sm4CL2,and SmRAS1.Further investigation demonstrated that JA mediated phenolic acids biosynthesis via SmJAZ9-SmMYB76 complex.Taken together, these findings state the molecular mechanism that SmJAZ9-SmMYB76 regulated phenolic acid biosynthesis at the transcriptional and protein levels, which provided new insights into JA signaling pathway regulating plant metabolism.Shucan Liu Xiankui Gao Min Shi Meihong Sun Kunlun Li Yan Cai Chengan Chen Can Wang Itay Maoz Xinhong Guo Guoyin Kai 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,3:0
3OpNAC1 transcription factor regulates the biosynthesis of the anticancer drug camptothecin by targeting loganic acid O-methyltransferase in Ophiorrhiza pumila显示文摘Camptothecin(CPT) is an anticancer pentacyclic quinoline alkaloid widely used to treat cancer patients worldwide. However, the biosynthetic pathway and transcriptional regulation of camptothecin are largely unknown. Ophiorrhiza pumila, the herbaceous plant from the Rubiaceae family, has emerged as a model plant for studying camptothecin biosynthesis and regulation. In this study, a high-quality reference genome of O. pumila with estimated size of ~456.90Mb was reported, and the accumulation level of camptothecin in roots was higher than that in stems and leaves. Based on its spatial distribution in the plant, we examined gene functions and expression by combining genomics with transcriptomic analysis. Two loganic acid O-methyltransferase(OpLAMTs)were identified in strictosidine-producing plant O.pumila, and enzyme catalysis assays showed that OpLAMT1 and not OpLAMT2 could convert loganic acid into loganin. Further knock-out of OpL AMT1expression led to the elimination of loganin and camptothecin accumulation in O. pumila hairy roots.Four key residues were identified in OpLAMT1 protein crucial for the catalytic activity of loganic acid to loganin. By co-expression network, we identified a NAC transcription factor, OpNAC1, as a candidate gene for regulating camptothecin biosynthesis.Transgenic hairy roots and biochemical assays demonstrated that OpNAC1 suppressed OpLAMT1 expression. Here, we reported on two camptothecin metabolic engineering strategies paving the road for industrial-scale production of camptothecin in CPT-producing plants.Xiaolong Hao Can Wang Wei Zhou Qingyan Ruan Chenhong Xie Yinkai Yang Chengyu Xiao Yan Cai Jingyi Wang Yao Wang Xuebin Zhang Itay Maoz Guoyin Kai 2023Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,1:0
