| 1 | On the Application of PCA Technique to Fault Diagnosis显示文摘In this paper, we briefly address the application of the standard principal component analysis (PCA) technique to fault detection and identification. Based on an analysis of the existing test statistic, we propose a new test statistic, which is similar to the Hawkin’s TH 2 statistic but without the numerical drawback. In comparison with the SPE index, the threshold setting associated with the new statistic is computationally simpler. Our further study is dedicated to the analysis of fault sensitivity. We consider the off-set and scaling faults, and evaluate the test statistic by viewing its sensitivity to the faults. Our final study focuses on identifying off-set and scaling faults. To this end, two algorithms are proposed. | 2 | Clinical observation on pericardial effusion in patients with lung cancer treated by intrapericardial catheterization and infusion of highly agglutinative staphylococcin and cisplatin显示文摘Objective: To evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of injecting highly agglutinative staphylococcin (HASL) and cisplatin into pericardial cavity of lung cancer patients with pericardial effusion. Methods: 81 patients were randomized into two groups: 45 in the experimental group (HASL and Cisplatin) and 36 in the control group (Cisplatin). At first pericardial effusion was drained out from a intrapericardial catheter and then different drugs were infused, respectively. 24 h after perfusion the draining continued again until drainage quantity was less than 30 mL every day. The draining lasted 10–15 days. Results: The response rate was 91.1% for the experimental group and 80.6% for the control group. There was no significant difference between the two groups (P>0.05). The complete remission was 77.8% for the experimental group and 52.8% for the control group, which was statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The adverse effects were myelosuppression and nausea and vomiting, which were 35.6% and 40.0% in the experimental group and 72.2% and 66.7% in the control group, respectively (P<0.01, P<0.05). | 3 | An integrated microfluidic device for long-term culture of isolated single mammalian cells显示文摘We developed an integrated microfluidic chip for long-term culture of isolated single cells. This polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) based device could accurately seed each single cell into different culture chambers, and isolate one chamber from each other with monolithically integrated pneumatic valves. We optimized the culture conditions, including the frequency of medium replacement and the introduction of conditioned medium, to keep the single cells alive for 4 days. We cultured a few hundred cells in a separated chamber on the same chip to continuously supply the conditioned medium into the culture chambers for single cells. This approach greatly facilitated the growth of single cells, and created a suitable microenvironment for observing cells' autonomous process in situ without the interference of other adjacent cells.
