1Characterization of Bacterial Community Associated with Four Organs of the Yesso Scallop (Patinopecten yessoensis) by High-Throughput Sequencing显示文摘We used Illumina high-throughput sequencing of PCR-amplified V3-V4 16 S rRNA gene regions to characterize bacterial communities associated with the adductor muscles, gills, gonads and intestines of the Yesso scallop(Patinopecten yessoensis) from waters around Zhangzidao, Dalian, China. Overall, 421,276 optimized reads were classified as 25 described bacterial phyla and 308 genera. Firmicutes, Proteobacteria, Tenericutes, Bacteroidetes, Chlamydiae and Spirochaetae accounted for > 97% of the total reads in the four organs. The bacterial 16 S rDNA sequences assigned to Firmicutes and Proteobacteria were abundant in the adductor muscles, gills and gonads; while reads from Tenericutes were dominant in the intestines, followed by those from Firmicutes, Chlamydiae, Proteobacteria and Bacteroidetes. At the genus level, the dominant genera in the adductor muscles, gills and gonads appeared to be Bacillus, Enterococcus and Lactococcus, whereas Mycoplasma was dominant in the intestines. The relative abundances of Bacillus, Enterococcus, Lactococcus, Alkaliphilus, Raoultella, Paenibacillus and Oceanobacillus were significantly lower in the intestine than in the other three organs. Cluster analysis and principal coordinates analysis of the operational taxonomy units profile revealed significant differences in the bacterial community structure between the intestine and the other three organs. Taken together, these results suggest that scallops have intestine-specific bacterial communities and the adductor muscles, gills and gonads harbor similar communities. 4Role of microtubule dynamics in Wallerian degeneration and nerve regeneration after peripheral nerve injury显示文摘Wallerian degeneration,the progressive disintegration of distal axons and myelin that occurs after peripheral nerve injury,is essential for creating a permissive microenvironment for nerve regeneration,and involves cytoskeletal reconstruction.However,it is unclear whether microtubule dynamics play a role in this process.To address this,we treated cultured sciatic nerve explants,an in vitro model of Wallerian degeneration,with the microtubule-targeting agents paclitaxel and nocodazole.We found that paclitaxel-induced microtubule stabilization promoted axon and myelin degeneration and Schwann cell dedifferentiation,whereas nocodazole-induced microtubule destabilization inhibited these processes.Evaluation of an in vivo model of peripheral nerve injury showed that treatment with paclitaxel or nocodazole accelerated or attenuated axonal regeneration,as well as functional recovery of nerve conduction and target muscle and motor behavior,respectively.These results suggest that microtubule dynamics participate in peripheral nerve regeneration after injury by affecting Wallerian degeneration.This study was approved by the Animal Care and Use Committee of Southern Medical University,China(approval No.SMUL2015081) on October 15,2015.Jingmin Liu Lixia Li Ying Zou Lanya Fu Xinrui Ma Haowen Zhang Yizhou Xu Jiawei Xu Jiaqi Zhang Mi Li Xiaofang Hu Zhenlin Li Xianghai Wang Hao Sun Hui Zheng Lixin Zhu Jiasong Guo 2022Neural Regeneration Research2022,17,3:1

6Enhanced Fatigue Properties of 2219 Al Alloy Joints via Bobbin Tool Friction Stir Welding显示文摘In the present study,2219-T87 Al alloy plates,4 mm in thickness,were subjected to bobbin tool friction stir welding(BTFSW)under relatively high welding speeds of 200 and 400 mm/min,with the aim to analyze the effect of welding speeds on fatigue properties of the joints.The results showed that the tension–tension high-cycle fatigue performance of the BT-FSW joints at room temperature was significantly enhanced compared to that of other joints of 2xxx series Al alloys counterparts.Particularly at a high welding speed of 400 mm/min,the fatigue strength of the joint reached 78%of the base material together with a high tensile strength of 311 MPa.It was found that the joint line remnants had no effects on the fatigue properties of the BT-FSW joints due to the elimination of root flaws under the action of the lower shoulder.Most of the samples with the welding speed of 200 mm/min failed at the thermo-mechanical zone(TMAZ)during fatigue tests,attributable to the coarsened grains and precipitates,but all of the samples with high welding speed of 400 mm/min randomly failed at the nugget zone due to the improved hardness value in the TMAZ.Zhenlin Wang Beibei Wang Zhen Zhang Peng Xue Yunfei Hao Yanhua Zhao Dingrui Ni Guoqing Wang Zongyi Ma 2023Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2023,36,4:0
