| 2 | A New Species of the Asian Leaf Litter Toad Genus Leptobrachella(Amphibia,Anura,Megophryidae)from Chongqing City,Southwest China显示文摘Herein we describe a new species,Leptobrachella yunyangensis sp.nov.,from Yunyang County,Chongqing City,China, based on a combination of molecular and morphological data.Phylogenetic analysis based on the mitochondrial 16 S rRNA gene and six nuclear genes indicated that this new species represented an independent evolutionary lineage. The uncorrected genetic distance between the new species and its closest congener species,L.oshanensis, was 5.4 % for 16 S rRNA.The new species can be distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the following characters:(1) moderate body size(SVL28.3-30.6 mm in males);(2) rough dorsal skin, with sparse large granules and tubercles and short longitudinal ridges on the shoulder;(3) distinctly discernible tympanum with a diameter smaller than that of the eye(TMP/EYE ratio:0.51) and a distinct black supra tympanic line present;(4)an internasal distance almost equal to interorbital distance(IND/IOD ratio:1.05);(5) flanks with several dark spots arranged longitudinally in two rows;(6) distinctly visible supra-axilla ry,femoral, pectoral,a nd ventrola teral glands;(7) bicolored iris, with the upper 1/3 of the iris being copper orange and the lower 2/3 a light silvery grey;(8) relative finger lengths of Ⅰ <Ⅱ=Ⅳ <Ⅲ and relative toe lengths of Ⅰ <Ⅱ <Ⅴ <Ⅲ <Ⅳ;(9) absence of webbing and lateral fringes on fingers, and toes with rudimentary webbing and narrow lateral fringes;(10) heels overlapping when the thighs are positioned at right angles to the body;(11) tibiotarsal articulation reaching to the anterior corner of the eye when the leg is stretched forward;(12) ventral surfaces of the throat, chest, and belly greyish white with purple-brown speckling;(13) lacking distinct blackish dorsolateral markings;and(14) transverse dark brown bars on the surfaces of limbs and digits. | Tao LUO Weifeng WANG Dong PENG Bo LEI Huaiqing DENG Shengnan JI Heqing HUANG Jiang ZHOU | 2022 | Asian Herpetological Research2022,13,2: | 1 |
| 3 | Supercontinuum single-photon detector using multilayer superconducting nanowires显示文摘High-efficiency superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors(SNSPDs), which have numerous applications in quantum information systems, function by using the optical cavity and the ultrasensitive photon response of their ultra-thin superconducting nanowires. However, the wideband response of superconducting nanowires is limited due to the resonance of the traditional optical cavity. Here, we report on a supercontinuum SNSPD that can efficiently detect single photons over an ultra-broad spectral range from visible to mid-infrared light. Our detection approach relies on using multiple cavities with well-separated absorbed resonances formed by fabricating multilayer superconducting nanowires on metallic mirrors with silica acting as spacer layers. Thus, we are able to extend the absorption spectral bandwidth while maintaining considerable efficiency, as opposed to a conventional single-layer SNSPD. Our calculations show that the proposed supercontinuum SNSPD exhibits an extended absorption bandwidth with increased nanowire layers. Its absorption efficiency is greater than 70%over the entire range from 400 to 2500 nm(or 400 to 3000 nm), when using two-layer(or three-layer) nanowires. As a proof of principle, the SNSPD with bilayer nanowires is fabricated based on the proposed detector architecture with simplified geometrical parameters. The detector achieves broadband detection efficiency over 60%from 950 to 1650 nm. This type of detector may replace multiple narrow band detectors in a system and find uses in the emerging and rapidly advancing field of atomic and molecular broadband spectroscopy. | HAO LI YONG WANG LIXING YOU HEQING WANG HUI ZHOU PENG HU WEIJUN ZHANG XIAOYU LIU XIAOYAN YANG LU ZHANG ZHEN WANG XIAOMING XIE | 2019 | Photonics Research2019,7,12: | 1 |
| 4 | Carbon nanotube-based photothermal membrane for efficient cold air heating and removal of particulate matter and airborne bacteria显示文摘Indoor heating results in high energy consumption and severe atmospheric pollution.Although the development of solar air heaters provides a sustainable route for indoor thermal comfort, such heaters still face challenges in terms of adequate heat exchange and filtering of atmospheric pollutants.Inspired by solar-driven interfacial evaporation,we propose a multifunctional carbon nanotube-based photothermal membrane for efficient cold air heating and purification via ventilation.Carbon nanotubes endow the membrane with high light absorption and thermal conversion capabilities, thereby sufficiently heating the approaching cold air. With the hierarchical structure formed by phase inversion, the thin upper skin of the composite membrane intercepts micropollutants via the size-sieving effect, whereas the finger-like pores and interpenetrating macrovoids inside the membrane ensure that the heated clear air passes through quickly.A proof-of-principle experiment indicated a cold airflow of 1 L/min across the membrane, yielding a temperature increase of ca.37°C as well as a PM 2.5 rejection always higher than 93%.Further antibacterial experiments demonstrated that the membrane effectively removed airborne bacteria. This multifunctional carbon nanotube-based photothermal membrane with specific microstructures not only improves the indoor living quality but also provides a sustainable development scheme to coordinate the relationship among energy utilization, building heating, and air purification. | Weichao Dong Lina Huang Xiangju Song Yan Zhang Mengke Liu Zhenzhen Ren Long Pang Hui Peng Heqing Jiang | 2024 | Green Carbon2024,2,1: | 0 |
| 5 | The zinc figure protein ZNF575 impairs colorectal cancer growth via promoting p53 transcription显示文摘Zinc-finger proteins play different roles in cancer;however, the function of zinc-finger protein ZNF575 in cancer remains unclear. In the present study,we aimed to determine the function and expression of ZNF575 in colorectal cancer.Proliferation assay, colony formation assay, and tumor model in mice were used to investigate the function of ZNF575 after ectopic expression of ZNF575 in colorectal cancer(CRC)cells.RNA sequencing,ChIP,and luciferase assays were used to investigate the mechanism behind ZNF575 regulation of CRC cell growth. The expression of ZNF575 was determined by IHC staining in 150 pairs of malignant CRC tissues, followed by prognosis analysis. We indicated that ectopic expression of ZNF575 inhibited CRC cell proliferation, colony formation and promoted cell apoptosis in vitro.Tumor growth in CRC was also impaired by ZNF575 in mice.RNA sequencing,follow-up western blotting, and qPCR results demonstrated the increase of p53,BAK,and PUMA in ZNF575-expressing CRC cells.Further results indicated that ZNF575 directly targeted the p53 promoter and promoted the transcription of p53.Downregulation of ZNF575 was confirmed in malignant tissues, and ZNF575 expression was positively correlated with the prognosis of CRC patients. The present study demonstrated the function, underlying mechanism, expression, and the prognosis-predicting role of ZNF575 in CRC,which indicated that ZNF575 would be a potential prognostic predictor and therapeutic target for CRC and other cancers. | NING AN HEQING PENG MIN HOU DUOFENG SU LIU WANG XIAOGANG SHEN MING ZHANG | 2023 | Oncology Research2023,31,3: | 0 |
