| 1 | Effect of temperature and pH value on cation exchange performance of a natural clay for selective(Cu^(2+),Co^(2+)) removal:Equilibrium, sorption and kinetics显示文摘This work aims at investigating the strain effect, created by varying pH solution and continuous heating cycle,on the cation exchange process in the case of Na-rich montmorillonite sample in contact with bi-ionic solution with variable concentration, saturated respectively by Co2+ and Cu2+ cations. The ionic exchange process is characterized using XRD analysis obtained through the comparison of experimental XRD patterns with calculated ones, which allowed us to determine several structural parameters related to the nature, abundance, size, position and organization of exchangeable cation and water molecule in the interlamellar space along the caxis.Indeed, the proposed theoretical models, for the stressed samples, show that the structure presents an interstratified hydration character and proves the coexistence of more than two ''crystallite'' specie in the structure. The perturbation types have an obvious effect on the selective exchange process for all stressed samples, where the interlayer space is characterized by the coexistence of more one exchangeable cation. | Ramzi Chalghaf Walid Oueslati Marwa Ammar Hafsia Ben Rhaiem Abdesslem Ben Haj Amara | 2013 | Progress in Natural Science:Materials International2013,23,1: | 1 |

| 6 | NUMERICAL STUDY OF FLOW AROUND AN OSCILLATING DIAMOND PRISM AND CIRCULAR CYLINDER AT LOW KEULEGAN-CARPENTER NUMBER显示文摘In order to identify the influence of shape corners on the instantaneous forces in the case of oscillating bodies, the simulated flow field is compared for two kinds of cross sections: diamond prism and circular cylinder. For these two flow configurations, the same Reynolds number and a Keulegan-Carpenter are considered. To compute the dynamic flow field surrounding the body, the Navier-Stokes transport equations in a non-inertial reference frame attached to the body are considered. Hence, a source term is added locally to the momentum equation to take into account the body acceleration. The proposed model is solved using the PHOENICS code. For the oscillating circular cylinder, the simulated results are in good agreement with the experimental data available in the litterature. After validation of this proposed model, flow field for diamond prism is determined. For both bodies, the process of the vortex formation is similar, with the formation of a recirculation zone in the near-wake containing a symmetric pair of vortices of equal strength and opposite rotation. The length of recirculation zone varies approximately linearly with time. However, the in-line force coefficient of the oscillating diamond prism is found to be greatest, since the recirculation zone is longer compared with that of the oscillating circular cylinder. | GHOZLANI Belgacem HAFSIA Zouhaier MAALEL Khlifa | 2012 | Journal of Hydrodynamics2012,24,5: | 0 |
| 7 | Relation Between Mechanical Constraints and The Hydration Behaviour in the Case of Na-Montmorillonite:Structural Analysis and Elastics Properties显示文摘The experimental prediction of the mechanical properties of minerals remains difficult because of their small particle size (typically < 2 micrometers). This work aims at examining, the effect of an applied mechanical constraint on the hydration behaviour in the case of Na rich-montmorillonite and its relation with the elastic properties. The mechanical constraint is created, at the laboratory scale, by applying a monoaxial pressure for unstressed host material (i.e. Na rich montmorillonite). The structural analysis before and after stress is achieved using an XRD profile modeling approach. This investigation allowed us to determine several structural parameters related to the nature, abundance, size, position and organization of exchangeable cation and water molecule in the interlamellar space along the c* axis. In order to evaluate the affected elastic properties, the GULP code have been used to study the structure and the interlamellar organization. Indeed, the bulk modulus and elastic constants of montmorilonite have been calculated from first principles within density functional theory (DFT). The obtained Young’s modulus for Na-montmorillonite interlayer varies from 5 GPa to 16 GPa. According to the interlamellar space configuration the calculated elastic constant tensors indicate that the a direction is slightly more flexible than the b direction. The calculated elastic constant tensor along c is much lower than the constants calculated along a and b. | Walid Oueslati Hafsia Ben Rhaiem Abdesslem Ben Haj Amara | 2013 | 矿物学报2013,33,S1: | 0 |
| 8 | Inter-comparative Study of Quantitative Methods of Industrial Clinker显示文摘Impurities from the raw materials, the grinding and the homogenization of the raw materials, the kiln instability and the complexity of the cooling step, all these factors make it difficult to obtain a perfect evaluation of the mineralogical composition of Portland clinker. We studied the limitations of the most commonly used quantitative methods and recommend some procedures to obtain reliable and reproducible results of quantitative analyses. Different clinker samples(provided by the Bizerte Cement Company(Tunisia)) were subjected to an elemental analysis by X-ray fluorescence and the mineralogical composition was determined by the Bogue calculation and by X-ray powder diffraction combined with the Rietveld method(Different softwares were used: XPert High Score Plus version 2.0 and TOPAS version 4.2). We then compared the results obtained by the Rietveld method and the Bogue calculation to the specific peak areas of each phase. The content of each phase, determined by the Rietveld method, varied proportionally to the change in peak area; a significant difference in these results was found by using the elementary Bogue calculation. | Benmohamed Mohamed Galai Haykel Alouani Rabah Bejaoui Marouene Ben Haj Amara Abdessalem Ben Rhaim Hafsia | 2017 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2017,32,6: | 0 |
