4Fluid Flow in Tundish Due to Different Type Arrangement of Weir and Dam显示文摘Tundish is an important metallurgical reactor in the continuous casting process. In order to control the fluid flow in tundish and thus take full advantage of the residence time available for the removal of inclusions from molten steel, the effect of weir and dam on the fluid flow has been studied in a water model based on the characteristic number Froude and Reynold number similarity criteria. The residence time distribution curves of the flow were measured by SG800, The optimum arrangement of dam and weir and the non- stationary flow in tundish were discussed. The results show that the combination of weir and dam is benefit for the flow pattern in tundish, weir can prevent the upper recirculating flow, dam can cut off the bottom flow and turn to upwards, it is advantageous to separate the nonmetallic inclusions. 6Directly accessing octave-spanning dissipative Kerr soliton frequency combs in an AlN microresonator显示文摘Self-referenced dissipative Kerr solitons (DKSs) based on optical microresonators offer prominent characteristics allowing for various applications from precision measurement to astronomical spectrometer calibration. To date,direct octave-spanning DKS generation has been achieved only in ultrahigh-Q silicon nitride microresonators under optimized laser tuning speed or bi-directional tuning. Here we propose a simple method to easily access the octave-spanning DKS in an aluminum nitride (AlN) microresonator. In the design,two modes that belong to different families but with the same polarization are nearly degenerate and act as a pump and an auxiliary resonance,respectively. The presence of the auxiliary resonance can balance the thermal dragging effect,crucially simplifying the DKS generation with a single pump and leading to an enhanced soliton access window. We experimentally demonstrate the long-lived DKS operation with a record single-soliton step (10.4 GHz or83 pm) and an octave-spanning bandwidth (1100–2300 nm) through adiabatic pump tuning. 7Macro-micromechanical approaches for non-coaxiality of coarse grained soils显示文摘For coarse grained soils,their principal stress directions may change when the water level of embankment dam varies instantaneously.In this loading case,the principal directions of stress and strain rate will become non-coaxial.In an effort to model non-coaxial behavior,a modified three-dimensional non-coaxial model is developed in the context of vertex yield(tangent plasticity) theory.Discrete Element Method(PFC) incorporating user-defined interparticle contact models is also employed to gain an insight into microscopic mechanism of non-coaxiality.The analysis focuses on non-coaxial behaviors under simple shear condition.It has been shown that the proposed non-coaxial model gives good predictions for non-coaxiality with reference to microscopic observations while the classical coaxial model fails to simulate the non-coaxial behaviors.In general,non-coaxiality as a result of the rotation of principal stress,is large at a small shear strain,and inclined to become negligible with increasing shear strain.For coarse grained soils,their non-coaxiality tends to largely depend on the initial normal pressure,where a larger degree of non-coaxiality can be observed at a higher pressure.QIAN JianGu 1,2,HUANG MaoSong 1,2 & SUN HaiZhong 1,2 1 Key Laboratory of Geotechnical and Underground Engineering of Ministry of Education,Tongji University,Shanghai 200092,China 2 Department of Geotechnical Engineering,Tongji University,Shanghai 200092,China 2011Science China(Technological Sciences)2011,54,S1:5
8Morphology and Mechanical Properties of PS/Al_2O_3 Nanocomposites Based on Selective Laser Sintering显示文摘Selective laser sintering (SLS) is a new process to prepare the polystyrene (PS)/AI2O3 nanocomposites. In thispaper, with different laser power and other processing parameters unchanged, the morphology, density and mechanicalproperties of the sintered specimens were investigated. It was found that nano-sized inorganic particles are uniformlylocated in the PS matrix and the maximum density of the sintered specimens with pure PS powder reaches 1.07 g/cm3,higher than 1.04 g/cm3 that of the sintered specimens with mixture powder. 14Mechanical properties,thermophysical properties and electronic structure of Yb^(3+)or Ce^(4+)-doped La_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)-based TBCs显示文摘First-principles calculations based on density functional theory were perfo rmed to investigate the cohesive energies,elastic modulus,Debye temperatures,thermal conductivities and density of states of La_(2-x)Yb_(x)Zr_(2)O_(7),La_(2)Zr_(2-x)Ce_(x)O_(7)and La_(2-x)Yb_(x)Zr_(2-x)Ce_(x)O_(7)(x=0.00,0.25,0.50,0.75,1.00)ceramics.The results show that doping Yb~(3+)or Ce~(4+)into La_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7)reduces its elastic modulus,thermal conductivity and Debye temperature.Compared with La_(2-x)Yb_(x)Zr_(2)O_(7)(x≠0.00),La_(2)Zr_(2-x)Ce_(x)O_(7)compounds have better ductility and lower Debye te mperature.The Debye temperature values of La_(2)Zr_(2-x)Ce_(x)O_(7)(x≠0.00)co mpounds are in the range of 485.0-511.5 K.Among all components,the fluorite-type La_(2-x)Yb_(x)Zr_(2-x)Ce_(x)O_(7)(x=0.75,1.00)compounds exhibit better mechanical and thermophysical properties,and their thermal conductivity values are only 1.213-1.246 W/(m·K)(1073 K),which are 14.5%-16.7%lower than that of the pure La_(2)Zr_(2)O_(7).Thus,our findings open an entirely new avenue for TBCs.Pengsen Zhao Haizhong Zheng Guifa Li Yongxiang Geng Yixin Xiao Hongbo Guo Ping Peng 2023Journal of Rare Earths2023,41,4:2
