6Bi-functional particles for integrated thermo-chemical processes:Catalysis and beyond显示文摘Particulate materials possessing dual functionalities have received tremendous investigations in many fields,owing to their superiority over mono-functional counterparts and their potential for process integration and intensification.This review focuses on bi-functional catalytic particles which also serve as sorbents/adsorbents or heat suppliers in the scheme of various thermo-chemical processes,enabling inherent separation or energy conservation within single-step operation.Bi-functional particles applied for integration of reaction and separation including sorption-enhanced hydrogen production and integrated capture and catalytic conversion processes are reviewed in detail,providing insights into material design and key performance indicators.On the other hand,bi-functional particles applied for integration of reaction and non-thermal radiation heating,including electrothermal and photothermal assisted heterogeneously catalyzed reactions,are also reviewed,with emphasis on the material property and energy efficiency improvement.These bi-functional particles show broad adaptability and feasibility in various reactions operated in integrated and intensified schemes,affording huge potentials for further improving productivity and efficiency in thermo-chemical processes.Hanke Li Chengxiong Dang Guangxing Yang Yonghai Cao Hongjuan Wang Feng Peng Hao Yu 2021Particuology2021,19,3:1

13TiNiHf/SiO_(2)/Si shape memory film composites for bidirectional micro actuation显示文摘The martensitic phase transformation in Ti_(40.4)Ni_(48)Hf_(11.6) shape memory alloys is leveraged for bi-directional actuation with TiNiHf/SiO_(2)/Si com-posites.The shape memory properties of magnetron sputtered Ti_(40.4)Ni_(48)Hf_(11.6) films annealed at 635℃-5 min are influenced by film thickness and the underlying substrate.Decreasing TiNiHf film thick-ness from 21μm to 110 nm results in the reduction of all characteristic transformation temperatures until a critical thickness is reached.Particularly,Ti_(40.4)Ni_(48)Hf_(11.6) thin films as low as 220 nm show transfor-mations above room temperature when deposited on SiO_(2) buffer layer,which is of great interest in nano-actuation.In comparison,220 nm films on Si substrates are austenitic at room temperature,and thus not suitable for actuation.Thermal fatigue tests on TiNiHf/SiO_(2)/Si bimorphs demonstrate better functional fatigue characteristics than freestanding films,with an average reduction of 15℃ after 125 cycles,with tempera-ture stabilization subsequently.Experimental bi-directional actuation results are promising in the development of bistable actuators within a PMMA/TiNiHf/Si trimorph composite,whereby the additional PMMA layer undergoes a glass transition at 105℃.With the aid of constitutive modeling,a route is elaborated on how bistable actuation can be achieved at micro-to nanoscales by showing favorable thickness combinations of PMMA/TiNiHf/Si composite.Sabrina M.Curtis Marian Sielenkamper Gowtham Arivanandhan Duygu Dengiz Zixiong Li Justin Jetter Lisa Hanke Lars Bumke Eckhard Quandt Stephan Wulfinghoff Manfred Kohl 2022International Journal of Smart and Nano Materials2022,13,2:0
14Production of high-purity hydrogen from paper recycling black liquor via sorption enhanced steam reforming显示文摘Environmentally friendly and energy saving treatment of black liquor(BL),a massively produced waste in Kraft papermaking process,still remains a big challenge.Here,by adopting a NieCaOeCa_(12)Al_(14)O_(33) bifunctional catalyst derived from hydrotalcite-like materials,we demonstrate the feasibility of producing high-purity H_(2)(~96%)with 0.9 mol H_(2) mol^(-1) C yield via the sorption enhanced steam reforming(SESR)of BL.The SESRBL performance in terms of H_(2) production maintained stable for 5 cycles,but declined from the 6th cycle.XRD,Raman spectroscopy,elemental analysis and energy dispersive techniques were employed to rationalize the deactivation of the catalyst.It was revealed that gradual sintering and agglomeration of Ni and CaO and associated coking played important roles in catalyst deactivation and performance degradation of SESRBL,while deposition of Na and K from the BL might also be responsible for the declined performance.On the other hand,it was demonstrated that the SESRBL process could effectively reduce the emission of sulfur species by storing it as CaSO_(3).Our results highlight a promising alternative for BL treatment and H_(2) production,thereby being beneficial for pollution control and environment governance in the context of mitigation of climate change.Hanke Li Shijie Wu Chengxiong Dang Guangxing Yang Yonghai Cao Hongjuan Wang Feng Peng Hao Yu 2021Green Energy & Environment2021,6,5:0
