| 1 | Analysis and use of fuzzy intelligent technique for navigation of humanoid robot in obstacle prone zone显示文摘With the increasing use of humanoid robots in several sectors of industrial automation and manufacturing, navigation and path planning of humanoids has emerged as one of the most promising area of research. In this paper, a navigational controller has been developed for a humanoid by using fuzzy logic as an intelligent algorithm for avoiding the obstacles present in the environment and reach the desired target position safely. Here, the controller has been designed by careful consideration of the navigational parameters by the help of fuzzy rules. The sensory information regarding obstacle distances and bearing angle towards the target are considered as inputs to the controller and necessary velocities for avoiding the obstacles are obtained as outputs. The working of the controller has been tested on a NAO humanoid robot in V-REP simulation platform. To validate the simulation results, an experimental platform has been designed under laboratory conditions, and experimental analysis has been performed. Finally, the results obtained from both the environments are compared against each other with a good agreement between them. | Asita Kumar Rath Dayal R.Parhi Harish Chandra Das Manoj Kumar Muni Priyadarshi Biplab Kumar | 2018 | Defence Technology(防务技术)2018,14,6: | 7 |

| 3 | Comparative study of the results of compound tibial shaft fractures treated by Ilizarov ring fixators and limb reconstruction system fixators显示文摘Purpose: llizarov ring fixator and limb reconstruction system (LRS) fixators have been used in the management of complex tibial fractures with severe soft tissue injuries, compound tibial fractures, and infected tibial nonunion for which conventional internal fixation cannot be contemplated. Fracture union and distraction osteogenesis can be done simultaneously with these external fixators, allowing early weight bearing. Several previous studies have shown almost equal results of rail and ring fixators for the compound tibial shaft fractures. Thus we performed a prospective study to evaluate the union rate, functional outcome and amount of limb lengthening after the treatment of compound tibial shaft fractures with or without infected nonunion by ring or LRS fixators. Methods: This prospective study was done at Sarojini Naidu Medical College and Hospital, Agra, India and included 32 patients of compound tibial shaft fractures with or without infected nonunion. There were 26 males and 6 females and the average age was 40 years. Patients were randomly divided into two groups (n - 16 for each): one underwent llizarov fixation and the other received LRS fixation. Cases were followed up for 3-24 months, 6 months on average from September 2012 to October 2014. Functional and radiological outcomes were assessed using the Association for the Study and Application of Methods of llizarov (ASAMI) criteria for both rail and ring fixators. Results: Union was achieved in all cases. Radiological outcome was found excellent in 68.75%, good in 18.75% and fair in 12.50% of cases treated by rail fixators whereas it was excellent in 56.25%, good in 18.75%, fair in 12.50% and poor in 12.50% of cases treated by ring fixators. Functional result was satis- factory in 75.00% of cases treated by rail fixator and 68.75% of cases treated by ring fixators whereas the corresponding rate of unsatisfactory was 25.00% vs. 31.25%. Conclusion: In our short-term assessment, LRS fixators show a better result than llizarov fixators in terms of fracture union and functional outcome with soft tissue care and limb length. | Chandra Prakash Pal Harish Kumar Deepak Kumar K.S. | 7 | Heterologous expression of Lolium perenne antifreeze protein confers chilling tolerance in tomato显示文摘Antifreeze proteins(AFP) are produced by certain plants, animals, fungi and bacteria that enable them to survive upon extremely low temperature. Perennial rye grass, Lolium perenne, was reported to possess AFP which protects them from cold environments. In the present investigation, we isolated AFP gene from L. perenne and expressed it in tomato plants to elucidate its role upon chilling stress. The T1 transgenic tomato lines were selected and subjected to molecular, biochemical and physiological analyses. Stable integration and transcription of Lp AFP in transgenic tomato plants was confirmed by Southern blot hybridization and RT-PCR, respectively. Physiological analyses under chilling conditions showed that the chilling stress induced physiological damage in wild type(WT) plants, while the transgenic plants remained healthy. Total sugar content increased gradually in both WT and transgenic plants throughout the chilling treatment. Interestingly, transgenic plants exhibited remarkable alterations in terms of relative water content(RWC) and electrolyte leakage index(ELI) than those of WT. RWC increased significantly by 3-fold and the electrolyte leakage was reduced by 2.6-fold in transgenic plants comparing with WT. Overall, this report proved that Lp AFP gene confers chilling tolerance in transgenic tomato plants and it could be a potential candidate to extrapolate the chilling tolerance on other chilling-sensitive food crops. | Srinivasan Balamurugan Jayan Susan Ann Inchakalody P Varghese Shanmugaraj Bala Murugan Mani ChANDra Harish Sarma Rajeev Kumar Ramalingam Sathishkumar | 2018 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2018,17,5: | 1 |

| 11 | Performance analysis of a thick copper-electroplated FDM ABS plastic rapid tool EDM electrode显示文摘The importance of rapid tooling (RT) and additive manufacturing (AM) appears to be indispensable for boosting the process of manufacturing and expanding the horizon of production technology worldwide. This concept draws the attention of numerous scholars to arrive at a conclusive theory for the widespread utilization of RT. This study attempts to determine the viability and performance of an RT electrode in the field of electro discharge machining (EDM). The electrode prototype is made using an acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) plastic by fused deposition modeling (FDM), an AM technique, electroplated with copper of desired thickness, and used in die sinking EDM of D2 steel. The scanning electron microscope analysis of the electroplated samples confirms that it is possible to obtain the desired thickness of the metal by electroplating on any electrically conductive surfaces. In the present work, an experimental study is performed for examining the electroplated copper thickness of the plastic EDM electrode and its performances. It is found that the electroplated ABS plastic EDM RT electrode successfully performs the machining operation of D2 steel, and the results are comparable with a solid electrode. The study reveals that the RT electrode can be regarded as a viable tool for rough cutting or semi-finishing cut EDM functions. The experimental results are thoroughly discussed, examined, analyzed, and evaluated for the purpose of developing the appropriate form of the concept. | Saroj Kumar Padhi S. S. | 12 | Factors affecting the quantity and quality of platelet-rich plasma and platelet-derived growth factor-BB:an observational study显示文摘Objective:Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)releases growth factors upon activation, which in turn accelerates healing and regeneration of the target tissue. However,PRP composition may vary according to the patient’s demographics, and wider applications of PRP warrant product standardization. The current study aimed to examine variables influencing the platelet-derived growth factor BB(PDGF-BB)concentration in PRP.Methods:This observational study was conducted in the Department of Pathology and Dentistry at Swami Rama Himalayan University,a tertiary care hospital in northern India from December 2016 to November 2017.PRP was prepared from 40mL of whole blood from 35 individuals(22 women,13 men).Platelet counts, platelet indices(platelet distribution width, mean platelet volume)and PDGF-BB levels were measured, and platelet yield, platelet dose, and growth factor dose in PRP were also calculated. All parameters were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient. The association between PDGF-BB and PRP platelet count was evaluated using logistic regression. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Swami Rama Himalayan University(SRHU/HIMS/ETHICS/2016/103)on September 7,2016.Results:The mean platelet count,PDGF-BB concentration, platelet yield, platelet dose, and growth factor dose in PRP were 1317×10^(9)/L,30±9.89ng/mL,71.62±28.34%,6.5±3.5×10^(9),and 159.62±52.39ng/mL,respectively.Linear regression analysis indicated that PRP platelet counts were a good predictor for PGDF-BB(P<0.05;adjusted R^(2)=0.96.PRP platelet count was significantly positively correlated with PDGF-BB concentration(r=0.74,P<0.001),platelet yield(r=0.80,P<0.001),platelet dose(r=1,P<0.001),and growth factor dose(r=0.74,P<0.001).Conclusions:PRP has wide clinical applications associated with its healing and regenerative properties, and both the quality and quantity of PRP thus need to be standardized as per the requirements.Evaluating variables affecting PRP will thus aid pathologists and clinical practitioners. | Rahul Verma Abhishek Kandwal Gita Negi Harish Chandra | 2021 | Journal of Bio-X Research2021,4,2: | 0 |

| 14 | Integrated assessment of adventitious rhizogenesis in Eucalyptus : root quality index and rooting dynamics显示文摘Clonal propagation of eucalypts has considerable importance due to the increasing demands for short rotation tree crops.Rooting quality is important as it governs the soil exploitation capacity of the plant and the anchorage of trees which are susceptible to wind damage. This study assesses the quality of adventitious rooting by coppice cuttings of commercially important Eucalyptus clones using multiple attribute ranking of the diff erences in parameters of root growth. The eff ects of diff erent concentrations of indole-3-butyric acid(IBA)on root development were observed.Cuttings were treated with 500,1000,4000,6000 mg L−1 IBA and tannic acid for 10 s,2 h and 24 h.Total length of root systems, number of roots, shoot to root ratios, number of root segments, extent of forking, rooting percentage, average root diameters, and number of root tips were measured.Grey relational analysis was used to create a comparability sequence to rank treatments.Reducing the concentration of auxin(IBA)and increasing the length of exposure produced better quality roots in Eucalyptus camaldulensis and interspecifi c hybrids(reciprocal hybrids of E.tereticornis and E.camaldulensis),while the opposite was observed with E.tereticornis clones.A root quality index was proposed, based on the Dickson quality index for the assessment of root system characteristics and considered total mass, shoot:root ratios, total length of root systems, and average root diameters. It has the advantage of implementation convenience.A positive correlation was obtained between grey relational analysis grades and root quality index.Rooting dynamics were studied by evaluating the total length of the root system at seven-day intervals and plotting daily current and medium increments using regression analysis. The curves showed the variation in growth rates among the diff erent clones, and their intersection gave the optimal time of permanence(time at which further growth is restricted)which varied considerably. The highest daily current increment was 35–40 days for all clones. | Romeet Saha Harish Singh Ginwal Girish Chandra Santan Barthwal | 2020 | Journal of Forestry Research2020,31,6: | 0 |
