| 2 | Cellulose nanofiber separator for suppressing shuttle effect and Li dendrite formation in lithium-sulfur batteries显示文摘Lithium-sulfur battery(LSB) has high energy density but is limited by the polysulfides shuttle and dendrite growth during cycling. Herein, a free-standing cellulose nanofiber(CNF) separator is designed and fabricated in isopropanol/water suspension through vacuum filtration progress. CNFs with abundant polar oxygen-containing functional groups can chemically immobilize the polysulfides, and suppress the formation of the dendrites by controlling the surface morphology of the SEI on lithium metal in LSB. The isopropanol content in a suspension can fine-tune the pore structure of the membrane to achieve optimal electrochemical performance. The prepared separator displays integrated advantages of an ultrathin thickness(19 μm), lightweight(0.87 mg cm^(-2)), extremely high porosity(98.05%), and decent electrolyte affinity. As a result, the discharge capacity of the LSB with CNF separator at the first and 100 th cycle is 1.4 and 1.3 times that of PP separator, respectively. | 4 | A novel PIK3CD C896T mutation detected in bilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss using next generation sequencing:An indication of primary immunodeficiency显示文摘Objective: To investigate immune-related genetic background in bilateral sudden sensorineural hearing loss(SSNHL).Case report and methods: The case is a 45-year-old man presenting with a 7-year history of bilateral profound SSNHL. Blood biochemical testing demonstrated increased levels of total cholesterol(5.88 mmol/L). Tests for hepatitis B showed a positive antibody against the hepatitis B core antigen. Complement C3 was below the normal value, and complement C4 and Ig G were in the lower range of normal values. CT images showed a normal inner ear and vestibular aqueduct but round window membranous ossification on both sides. A total number of 232 immuneassociated genes were sequenced using the next generation sequencing technique.Results: Mutations were detected in 5 genes, including the phosphoinositide 3-kinase catalytic subunit delta(PIK3CD), caspase recruitment domain-containing protein 9(CARD9), complement factor H-related(CFHR2), immunoglobulin lambda-like polypeptide 1 Protein(IGLL1),and transmembrane channel-like gene family 8(TMC8). In the PIK3 CD gene, a C896 T substitute in exon 7 was detected. | 5 | Isoflurane-induced neuronal apoptosis in developing hippocampal neurons显示文摘We hypothesized that the P2X7 receptor may be the target of isoflurane, so we investigated the roles of the P2X7 receptor and inositol triphosphate receptor in calcium overload and neuronal apoptosis induced by isoflurane in cultured embryonic rat hippocampal neurons. Results showed that isoflurane induced widespread neuronal apoptosis and significantly increased cytoplasmic Ca 2+ . Blockade of P2X7 receptors or removal of extracellular Ca 2+ combined with blockade of inositol triphosphate receptors completely inhibited apoptosis or increase in cytoplasmic Ca 2+ . Removal of extracellular Ca 2+ or blockade of inositol triphosphate receptor alone could partly inhibit these effects of isoflurane. Isoflurane could directly activate P2X7-gated channels and induce inward currents, but did not affect the expression of P2X7 receptor protein in neurons. | 15 | Cell type-specific proteomics uncovers a RAF15-SnRK2.6/OST1 kinase cascade in guard cells显示文摘Multicellular organisms such as plants contain various cell types with specialized functions.Analyzing the characteristics of each cell type reveals specific cell functions and enhances our understanding of organization and function at the organismal level.Guard cells(GCs)are specialized epidermal cells that regulate the movement of the stomata and gaseous exchange,and provide a model genetic system for analyzing cell fate,signaling,and function.Several proteomics analyses of GC are available,but these are limited in depth.Here we used enzymatic isolation and flow cytometry to enrich GC and mesophyll cell protoplasts and perform in-depth proteomics in these two major cell types in Arabidopsis leaves.We identified approximately 3,000 proteins not previously found in the GC proteome and more than600 proteins that may be specific to GC.The depth of our proteomics enabled us to uncover a guard cell-specific kinase cascade whereby Raf15and Snf1-related kinase2.6(SnRK2.6)/OST1(open stomata 1)mediate abscisic acid(ABA)-induced stomatal closure.RAF15 directly phosphorylated SnRK2.6/OST1 at the conserved Ser175 residue in its activation loop and was sufficient to reactivate the inactive form of SnRK2.6/OST1.ABAtriggered SnRK2.6/OST1 activation and stomatal closure was impaired in raf15 mutants.We also showed enrichment of enzymes and flavone metabolism in GC,and consistent,dramatic accumulation of flavone metabolites.Our study answers the long-standing question of how ABA activates SnRK2.6/OST1 in GCs and represents a resource potentially providing further insights into the molecular basis of GC and mesophyll cell development,metabolism,structure,and function. | Hongliang Wang Yubei Wang Tian Sang Zhen Lin Rongxia Li Weiwei Ren Xin Shen Bing Zhao Xiao Wang Xuebin Zhang Shaoqun Zhou Shaojun Dai Honghong Hu Chun-Peng Song Pengcheng Wang | 2023 | Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2023,65,9: | 0 |
| 16 | Effect of brain-derived neurotropic factor released from hypoxic astrocytes on gamma-aminobutyric acid type A receptor function in normal hippocampal neurons显示文摘Astrocytes can release increased levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor during cerebral ischemia, but it is unclear whether brain-derived neurotrophic factor affects γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor function in normal neurons. Results from this study demonstrated that γ-aminobutyric acid at 100 μmol/L concentration raised the intracellular calcium level in neurons treated with medium from cultured hypoxic astrocytes, and the rise in calcium level could be inhibited by γ-aminobutyric acid type A receptor antagonist bicuculline or brain-derived neurotrophic factor receptor antagonist k252a. γ-aminobutyric acid type A-gated current induced by 100 μmol/L γ-aminobutyric acid was in an inward direction in physiological conditions, but shifted to the outward direction in neurons when treated with the medium from cultured hypoxic astrocytes, and this effect could be inhibited by k252a. The reverse potential was shifted leftward to -93 mV, which could be inhibited by k252a and Na+-K+-Cl- cotransporter inhibitor bumetanide. Brain-derived neurotrophic factor was released from hypoxic astrocytes at a high level. | 20 | Study of MRPC technology for BESIII endcap-TOF upgrade显示文摘Purpose In order to improve the charged particle identi-fication capability,end-cap time-of-flight(ETOF)detector of the Beijing Spectrometer(BESIII)has been upgraded with multi-gap resistive plate chamber(MRPC)technology,aiming at an overall time resolution of 80 ps for minimum-ionization particles to extend the K/πseparation(2σ)momentum range to 1.4 GeV/c.Methods The previous version of ETOF in BESIII consisted of plastic scintillators.The multi-hit events distort both shape and amplitude of the output signals.MRPC technique was chosen for the BESIII ETOF upgrade as it provides high time resolution and high detection efficiency,is of relatively low cost and is insensitive to neutral particles.Most importantly,the fine segmentation of the MRPC readout stripes can suppress multi-hit events effectively.Results The final design of MRPC module for ETOF is characterized by double-stack(2×6)structure,dual-end readout mode and precision electronics.To batch-produce and test these MRPC modules,a series of tools and production procedures as well as related performance simulation and test methods were developed.Results showed that each MRPC module’s intrinsic time resolution(including the electronics contribution)is around 50 ps and the efficiency is better than 97%.The overall performance of the upgraded ETOF is better than the designed index.The new ETOF has been successfully installed at BESIII and run in 2016. | Xin Li Yongjie Sun Cheng Li Zhen Liu Yuekun Heng Ming Shao Xiaozhuang Wang Zhi Wu Ping Cao Mingming Chen Hongliang Dai Shubing Liu Xiaolan Luo Xiaoshan Jiang Shengsen Sun Zebo Tang Weijia Sun Siyu Wang Meihang Xu Rongxing Yang Kejun Zhu | 2017 | Radiation Detection Technology and Methods2017,1,2: | 0 |
