| 1 | Application of Land-use Change Model in Guiding Regional Planning:A Case Study in Hun-Taizi River Watershed,Northeast China显示文摘This paper firstly investigated the land-use and land-cover change (LUCC) in the Hun-Taizi River watershed, Northeast China from 1988 to 2004 based on remotely sensed images and geographic information systems (GIS) technology. Then, using the famous land-use change model of Conversion of Land Use and its Effects at Small regional extent (CLUE-S), this paper simulated the land use changes under historical trend (HT), urban planning (UP) and ecological protection (EP) scenarios considering urban planning and ecological protection over the next 20 years. The simulated results under UP scenario in 2020 were compared with the planning map to assess the feasibility of using land-use change model to guide regional planning. Results show that forest land, dry farmland, paddy, and shrub land were the main land-use categories. Paddy and dry farmland being converted to urban area and rural settlement characterized the land-use change from 1988 to 2004. The main land-use categories changed over time. Landscape-pattern fragmentation will be worse under HT and UP scenarios, but better in EP scenario. The comparing results of simulated map with planning map in 2020 show that land-use change model is powerful tool to guide regional planning. | 4 | In vitro and in vivo evaluations of Mg-Zn-Gd alloy membrane on guided bone regeneration for rabbit calvarial defect显示文摘To develop a biodegradable membrane with guided bone regeneration(GBR),a Mg-2.0Zn-1.0Gd alloy(wt.%,MZG)membrane with Ca-P coating was designed and fabricated in this study.The microstructure,hydrophilicity,in vitro degradation,cytotoxicity,antibacterial effect and in vivo regenerative performance for the membrane with and without Ca-P coating were evaluated.After coating,the membrane exhibited an enhance hydrophilicity and corrosion resistance,showed good in vitro cytocompatibility upon MC3T3E-1 cells,and exhibited excellent antibacterial effect against E.coli,Staphylococcus epidermis and Staphylococcus aureus,simultaneously.In vivo experiment using the rabbit calvarial defect model confirmed that Ca-P coated MZG membrane underwent progressive degradation without inflammatory reaction and significantly improved the new bone formation at both 1.5 and 3 months after the surgery.All the results strongly indicate that MZG with Ca-P coating have great potential for clinical application as GBR membranes. | Jiawen Si Hongzhou Shen Hongwei Miao Yuan Tian Hua Huang Jun Shi Guangyin Yuan Guofang Shen | 2021 | Journal of Magnesium and Alloys2021,9,1: | 4 |
| 5 | Global mapping of artificial surfaces at 30-m resolution显示文摘Urbanization is expected to accelerate with population growth and economic development at the global scale. The artificial surface is the main land cover form of urbanization. On the one hand, urbanization provides spaces for industry, economic activities and residence. On the other hand, artificial surfaces change the earth surface to a large extent, thus significantly affecting natural processes such as the heat exchange, hydrological processes and ecological balance. Therefore, the global mapping of artificial surfaces is valuable for both natural science and social science. This study produced the global artificial surface maps at 30-m resolution for two base-years using the satellite images acquired around 2000 and 2010. First, we proposed a new definition of 'artificial surface' based on patch level with consideration of its geographic meaning and image features at 30-m resolution. Second, pixel-based and object-based image processing techniques were combined for the extraction of artificial surface patches. Finally, human editing and a quality control system were employed to guarantee the quality of global mapping. Independent accuracy assessments show that the user's accuracy of this product is higher than 80%. It can be concluded that the product is the most reliable one among all the available global datasets of artificial surfaces(or related types). | 7 | Atomic scale structure dominated FCC and B2 responses to He ion irradiation in eutectic high-entropy alloy AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1)显示文摘Radiation-tolerant materials are widely desired in nuclear reactors. High-entropy alloys(HEAs) exhibiting superior mechanical performance and swelling tolerance are being considered as next-generation nuclear structural materials. However, an understanding of HEAs irradiation tolerance at an atomic scale is still lacking. In this study, the atomic scale irradiation response of AlCoCrFeNi_(2.1), composed of face-centered cubic(FCC) phase and B2 phase, has been systematically investigated at 298 and 723 K. The bubble volume ratio of the B2 phase is much larger than that of the FCC phase under the same irradiation conditions, and hence, the FCC phase has superior swelling tolerance than the B2 phase. Also, order-disorder transformation occurred in both L12and B2 phases. The different irradiation responses between the FCC and B2 phases, depend firstly on composition and secondly on crystal structure. The higher compositional complexity and complicated atomic-level lattice environment of the FCC phase contribute to better radiation performance than B2 phase. | 13 | Simulating Impact of Larch Caterpillar(Dendrolimus superans)on Fire Regime and Forest Landscape in Da Hinggan Mountains,Northeast China显示文摘Larch caterpillar (Dendrolimus superans) is very common in the Da Hinggan Mountains, Northeast China, affecting fire regime and forest ecosystem change at large spatio-temporal scales. In this study, we used a spatially explicit landscape model, LANDIS, to simulate the changes of fire regime and forest landscape under four larch caterpillar disturbance intensity levels scenarios in Huzhong forest area, northern of Da Hinggan Mountains. The results indicate that larch caterpillar disturbances would decrease fine fuel load and increase coarse fuel load in the 300 simulation years. Larch caterpillar disturbances would decrease fire frequency in the first 200 years, and the disturbances also decrease fire intensity and fire risk in the early and late stage of simulation. Larch caterpillar disturbances would decrease the area percent of larch cohorts and increase the proportion of white birch, and increase the degree of aggregation of white birch as a result of its strong seed dispersal and colonization ability. Disturbances would also decrease the mature and over-mature larch cohorts and increase all cohorts of white birch, especially the mature and over-mature cohorts.
