1A Teosinte-derived Allele of a MYB Transcription Repressor Confers Multiple Disease Resistance in Maize.显示文摘Natural alleles controlling multiple disease resistances (MDR) are valuable for crop breeding. However, only one MDR gene have been cloned in maize, and molecular mechanisms of MDR are not clear. By map-based cloning, we have cloned a teosinte-derived allele of a resistance gene, Mexicana lesion mimic 1 (ZmMM1), which has a lesion mimic phenotype and confers resistance to northern leaf blight (NLB), gray leaf spot (GLS) and southern corn rust (SCR). Strong MDR conferred by the teosinte allele is linked with the polymorphisms in the 3' untranslated region of the ZmMM1 gene that cause increased accumulation of ZmMM1 protein. ZmMM1 acts as a transcription repressor and negatively regulates transcription of specific target genes including ZmMM1-target gene 3 (ZmMT3), which functions as a negative regulator of plant immunity and associated cell death. 4Thermoelastic Structural Topology Optimization Based on Moving Morphable Components Framework显示文摘This study investigates structural topology optimization of thermoelastic structures considering two kinds of objectives ofminimumstructural compliance and elastic strain energy with a specified available volume constraint.To explicitly express the configuration evolution in the structural topology optimization under combination of mechanical and thermal load conditions,the moving morphable components(MMC)framework is adopted.Based on the characteristics of the MMC framework,the number of design variables can be reduced substantially.Corresponding optimization formulation in the MMC topology optimization framework and numerical solution procedures are developed for several numerical examples.Different optimization results are obtained with structural compliance and elastic strain energy as objectives,respectively,for thermoelastic problems.The effectiveness of the proposed optimization formulation is validated by the numerical examples.It is revealed that for the optimization design of the thermoelastic structural strength,the objective function with the minimum structural strain energy can achieve a better performance than that from structural compliance design.Jun Yan Qi Xu Zhirui Fan Zunyi Duan Hongze Du Dongling Geng 2021Computer Modeling in Engineering & Sciences2021,,9:0
5Self-Assembly of Luminescent Twisted Fibers Based on Achiral Quinacridone Derivatives显示文摘It is a great challenge to spontaneously assemble achiral molecules into twisted nanostructures in the absence of chiral substances.Here we show that two achiral centrosymmetric quinacridone(QA)derivatives,N,N’-di(n-hexyl)-1,3,8,10-tetramethylquinacridone(C6TMQA)and N,N’-di(n-decyl)-1,3,8,10-tetramethylquinac ridone(C10TMQA),can be employed as building blocks to fabricate well-defi ned twisted nanostructures by controlling the solvent composition and concentration.Bowknot-like bundles with twisted fiber arms were prepared from C6TMQA,whilst uniform twisted fibers were generated from C10TMQA in ethanol/THF solution.Spectroscopic characterization and molecular simulation calculations revealed that the introduction of ethanol into the solution could induce a staggered aggregation of C6TMQA(or C10TMQA)molecules and the formation of twisted nanostructures.Such twisted materials generated from achiral organic functional molecules may be valuable in the design and fabrication of new materials for optoelectronic applications.Yunfeng Zhao Yan Fan Xiaoyue Mu Hongze Gao Jia Wang Jingying Zhang Wensheng Yang Lifeng Chi Yue Wang 2009Nano Research2009,2,6:0
