| 2 | Theoretical prediction,synthesis,and crystal structure determination of new MAX phase compound V2SnC显示文摘Guided by the theoretical prediction,a new MAX phase V2SnC was synthesized experimentally for the first time by reaction of V,Sn,and C mixtures at 1000°C.The chemical composition and crystal structure of this new compound were identified by the cross-check combination of first-principles calculations,X-ray diffraction(XRD),energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDS),and high resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy(HR-STEM).The stacking sequence of V2C and Sn layers results in a crystal structure of space group P63/mmc.The a-and c-lattice parameters,which were determined by the Rietveld analysis of powder XRD pattern,are 0.2981(0)nm and 1.3470(6)nm,respectively.The atomic positions are V at 4f(1/3,2/3,0.0776(5)),Sn at 2d(2/3,1/3,1/4),and C at 2a(0,0,0).A new set of XRD data of V2SnC was also obtained.Theoretical calculations suggest that this new compound is stable with negative formation energy and formation enthalpy,satisfied Born-Huang criteria of mechanical stability,and positive phonon branches over the Brillouin zone.It also has low shear deformation resistance c44(second-order elastic constant,cij)and shear modulus(G),positive Cauchy pressure,and low Pugh’s ratio(G/B=0.500<0.571),which is regarded as a quasi-ductile MAX phase.The mechanism underpinning the quasi-ductility is associated with the presence of a metallic bond. | Qiang Xu Yanchun Zhou Haiming Zhang Anna Jiang Quanzheng Tao Jun Lu Johanna Rosén Yunhui Niu Salvatore Grasso Chunfeng Hu | 2020 | Journal of Advanced Ceramics2020,9,4: | 8 |
| 3 | Quantitative diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance enterography in ileal Crohn’s disease: A systematic analysis of intra and interobserver reproducibility显示文摘BACKGROUND Magnetic resonance enterography(MRE) is increasingly attractive as a noninvasive and radiation-free tool for assessing Crohn’s disease(CD). Diffusionweighted imaging(DWI) is recommended as an optional MRE sequence for CD by the European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology, and has shown a superb potential as a quantitative modality for bowel inflammation evaluation. However, the measurement reproducibility of quantitative DWI analysis in MRE has not been ascertained so far. To facilitate the application of quantitative diffusion-weighted MRE in the clinical routine, systematic investigations of the intra and interobserver reproducibility of DWI quantitative parameters should be performed.AIM To evaluate the intra and interobserver reproducibility of quantitative analysis for diffusion-weighted MRE(DW-MRE) in ileal CD.METHODS Forty-four subjects(21 with CD and 23 control subjects) who underwent ileocolonoscopy and DW-MRE(b = 800 s/mm2) within one week were included.Two radiologists independently measured apparent diffusion coefficients(ADC)of the terminal ileum and signal intensity ratio(SR) of the terminal ileum to ipsilateral psoas muscle on DWI images(b = 800 s/mm2). Between-and withinreader agreements were assessed using intraclass correlation coefficients(ICC),coefficients of variation(CoV), and 95% limits of agreement of Bland-Altman plots(BA-LA LoA). Diagnostic performances of ADC and SR for identifying inflamed terminal ileum from the normal were evaluated by receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curve analysis.RESULTS There were no significant differences in ADC or SR values between the two sessions or between the two radiologists either in the CD or control group(paired t-test, P > 0.05). The intra and interobserver reproducibility of ADC(ICC: 0.952-0.984;CoV: 3.73-6.28%;BA-LA LoA: ±11.27% to ±15.88%) and SR(ICC: 0.969-0.989;CoV: 3.51%-4.64%;BA-LA LoA: ±10.62% to ±15.45%) was excellent for CD.Agreement of ADC measurements was slightly less in control subjects(ICC:0.641-0.736;CoV: 10.47%-11.43%;BA-LA LoA: ± 26.59% to ± 30.83%). SR of normal terminal ileum demonstrated high intra and interobserver reproducibility(ICC: 0.944-0.974;CoV: 3.73%-6.28%;BA-LA LoA: ± 18.58% to ± 24.43%). | 4 | Neuroprotective effects of INT-777 against Aβ1-42-induced cognitive impairment, neuroinflammation, apoptosis, and synaptic dysfunction in mice显示文摘OBJECTIVE To investigate the neuroprotective effects of TGR5 agonist INT-777 in the Aβ_(1-42)-treated mouse model of acute neurotoxicity.METHODS Cognitive impairment was induced by single intracerebroventricular injection of aggregated Aβ_(1-42)(410 pmol per mouse;5 μL)into the mouse brain in normal ICR mice.After3 d,INT-777(0.75,1.5 or 3.0 μg per mouse) was infused into the same site.Another 3 d later,the cognition function was evaluated by Morris water maze(MWM),novel objective recognition(NOR),and Y maze tests.Furthermore,the levels of TGR5,TNF-α,IL-1β,IL-6,NF-κB p65,Iba1,caspase 3,Bcl-2,Bax,PSD95,and synaptophysin in the hippocampus and frontal cortex were detected using Western blotting.Microglia activation in the hippocampal CA1,CA3 and DG regions and frontal cortex were detected by immunohistochemistry.TUNEL staining was used to detect the apoptotic cells.The number of spines in the hippocampal CA1,CA3 and DG regions and frontal cortex was detected by GolgiCox staining.RESULTS INT-777(1.5 or 3.0 μg per mouse) significantly ameliorated memory impairment in the Aβ_(1-42)-treated mice,evidenced by increased the time spent in the target quadrant(P<0.05),and the number of target crossings(P<0.05) in the MWM test,increased the discrimination index in the NOR test(P<0.05),and increased the number of correct choices(P<0.05,P<0.01) and decreased the latency(P<0.05) to enter the shock-free compartment in the Y-maze test.Importantly,this treatment reversed Aβ_(1-42)-induced TGR5 down-regulation(P<0.05,P<0.01),suppressed the increase of nuclear NF-κB p65(P<0.05,P<0.01) and mitigated neuroinflammation,evidenced by lower proinflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α(P<0.05),IL-1β(P<0.05),IL-6(P<0.05,P<0.01),and less Iba1-positive cells in the hippocampal CA1,CA3 and DG regions and frontal cortex(P<0.05,P<0.01) as well as the protein level of Iba1.INT-777(1.5 or3.0 μg per mouse) also pronouncedly suppressed apoptosis through the reduction of TUNEL-positive cells(P<0.05,P<0.01),decreased activation of caspase 3(P<0.05),increased ratio of Bcl-2/Bax(P<0.05,P<0.01),and ameliorated synaptic dysfunction via promoting dendritic spines generation(P<0.05,P<0.01) with the upregulation of PSD95(P<0.05) and synaptophysin proteins(P<0.05).CONCLUSION INT-777 has potent neuroprotective effects against Aβ_(1-42)-induced neurotoxicity,which suggests that the activation of TGR5 could be a novel and promising strategy for the treatment of AD. | WU Xian LYU Yang-ge DU Yi-feng CHEN Fang Miranda N REED HU Mei Vishnu SUPPIRAMANIAM TANG Su-su HONG Hao | 2018 | 中国药理学与毒理学杂志2018,32,9: | 6 |
| 5 | Oxygen and Nitrogen Effects on MC Carbide in K465 Nickel-Base Superalloy显示文摘Effects of oxygen and nitrogen on MC carbide in nickel-base superalloy K465 were investigated, because neither of the two gas elements was found to decide MC carbide morphology monotonically. The morphology of MC carbide under alloy solidified in conventional investment casting condition was observed to transform from script-type to block-type with the total oxygen and nitrogen content (gas content) in samples rising up from 1.2×10-6 mol/g to 2.6×10-6 mol/g. The area fraction and composition of the MC carbide also varied with increase of gas content. However, the morphology of MC carbide kept to be script-type even when gas content was up to 3.4×10-6 mol/g in samples solidified with a much higher cooling rate. | 7 | KOH activated carbon derived from biomass-banana fibers as an efficient negative electrode in high performance asymmetric supercapacitor显示文摘Here we demonstrate the fabrication, electrochemical performance and application of an asymmetric supercapacitor(AS) device constructed with β–Ni(OH)_2/MWCNTs as positive electrode and KOH activated honeycomb-like porous carbon(K-PC) derived from banana fibers as negative electrode. Initially,the electrochemical performance of hydrothermally synthesized β–Ni(OH)_2/MWCNTs nanocomposite and K-PC was studied in a three-electrode system using 1 M KOH. These materials exhibited a specific capacitance(Cs) of 1327 F/g and 324 F/g respectively at a scan rate of 10 m V/s. Further, the AS device i.e.,β–Ni(OH)_2/MWCNTs//K-PC in 1 M KOH solution, demonstrated a Cs of 156 F/g at scan rate of 10 m V/s in a broad cell voltage of 0–2.2 V. The device demonstrated a good rate capability by maintaining a Cs of 59 F/g even at high current density(25 A/g). The device also offered high energy density of 63 Wh/kg with maximum power density of 5.2 kW/kg. The AS device exhibited excellent cycle life with 100% capacitance retention at 5000 th cycle at a high current density of 25 A/g. | 8 | Alcoholic hepatitis: The pivotal role of Kupffer cells显示文摘Kupffer cells play a central role in the pathogenesis of alcoholic hepatitis(AH). It is believed that alcohol increases the gut permeability that results in raised levels of serum endotoxins containing lipopolysaccharides(LPS). LPS binds to LPS-binding proteins and presents it to a membrane glycoprotein called CD14, which then activates Kupffer cells via a receptor called tolllike receptor 4. This endotoxin mediated activation of Kupffer cells plays an important role in the inflammatory process resulting in alcoholic hepatitis. There is no effective treatment for AH, although notable progress has been made over the last decade in understanding the underlying mechanism of alcoholic hepatitis. We specifically review the current research on the role of Kupffer cells in the pathogenesis of AH and the treatment strategies.
