| 1 | Incidence and mortality of stomach cancer in China,2014显示文摘Objective: In this study,we aimed to estimate the updated incidence and mortality rate of stomach cancer based on the cancer registration data in 2014,collected by the National Central Cancer Registry of China(NCCRC).Methods: In 2017,339 registries' data were qualified based on the criteria of data quality control of the NCCRC.Cases of stomach cancer were retrieved from the national database.We estimated numbers of stomach cancer cases and deaths in China using age-specific rates and corresponding national population stratified by area,sex,agegroup(0,1–4,5–9,10–14,…,85+).Chinese standard population in 2000 and Segi's world population were applied for age-standardized incidence and mortality rates.Results: In 2014,410,400 new stomach cancer cases and 293,800 cancer-associated deaths were estimated to have occurred in China.The crude incidence rate of stomach cancer was 30.00/100,000,age-standardized incidence rates by Chinese standard population(ASIRC) and by world standard population(ASIRW) were 19.62/100,000 and19.51/100,000,respectively.The crude mortality rate of stomach cancer was 21.48/100,000,age-standardized mortality rates by Chinese(ASMRC) and by world standard population(ASMRW) were 13.44/100,000 and13.30/100,000,respectively.Incidence and mortality rates in rural areas were both higher than that in urban areas.Stomach cancer has a strong relationship with gender and age.The disease has occurred more frequently among men than women with a male to female ratio of 2.4 for ASIRC.After age group of 40-44 years,incidence rates are substantially higher in men than in women,same pattern was seen for age-specific mortality rates.Conclusions: There is still a heavy burden of stomach cancer in China.The incidence and mortality patterns of stomach cancer show substantial gender and regional disparities.Great effort is needed to provide more accessible health services,sufficient financial resources,and adequate cancer-care infrastructure for the Chinese population,especially for people living in rural areas. | Lei Yang Rongshou Zheng Ning Wang Yannan Yuan Shuo Liu Huichao Li Siwei Zhang Hongmei Zeng Wanqing Chen | 2018 | Chinese Journal of Cancer Research2018,30,3: | 114 |
| 2 | The influence of stage at diagnosis and molecular subtype on breast cancer patient survival: a hospital.based multi.center study显示文摘Background: Stage at diagnosis and molecular subtype are important clinical factors associated with breast cancer patient survival. However, subgroup survival data from a large study sample are limited in China.To estimate the survival differences among patients with different stages and various subtypes of breast cancer, we conducted a hospital-based multi-center study on breast cancer in Beijing, China.Methods: All resident patients diagnosed with primary, invasive breast cancer between January 1,2006 and December 31,2010 from four selected hospitals in Beijing were included and followed up until December 31,2015. Hospitalbased data of stage at diagnosis, hormone receptor status, and selected clinical characteristics, including body mass index(BMI), menopausal status, histological grade, and histological type, were collected from the medical records of the study subjects. Overall survival(OS) and cancer-specific survival(CSS) were estimated. Cox proportional hazards models were employed to evaluate the associations of stage at diagnosis and molecular subtype with patient survival.Results: The 5-year OS and CSS rates for all patients were 89.4% and 90.3%. Survival varied by stage and molecular subtype. The 5-year OS rates for patients with stage I, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, and IV diseases were 96.5%, 91.6%, 74.8%, and 40.7%,respectively, and the corresponding estimates of 5-year CSS rates were 97.1%, 92.6%, 75.6%, and 42.7%, respectively.The 5-year OS rates for patients with luminal A, luminal B, HER2, and triple-negative subtypes of breast cancer were92.6%, 88.4%, 83.6%, and 82.9%, respectively, and the corresponding estimates of 5-year CSS rates were 93.2%, 89.1 %,85.4%, and 83.5%, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that stage at diagnosis and molecular subtype were important prognostic factors for breast cancer.Conclusions: Survival of breast cancer patients varied significantly by stage and molecular subtype. Cancer screening is encouraged for the early detection and early diagnosis of breast cancer. | 3 | Carbon dioxide capture using polyethylenimine-loaded mesoporous carbons显示文摘A high efficiency sorbent for CO2 capture was developed by loading polyethylenimine (PEI) on mesoporous carbons which possessed well-developed mesoporous structures and large pore volume. The physicochemical properties of the sorbent were characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal gravimetric analysis (TG) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) techniques followed by testing for CO2 capture. Factors that affected the sorption capacity of the sorbent were studied. The sorbent exhibited extraordinary capture capacity with CO2 concentration ranging from 5% to 80%. The optimal PEI loading was determined to be 65 wt.% with a CO2 sorption capacity of 4.82 mmol-CO2 /g-sorbent in 15% CO2 /N2 at 75°C, owing to low mass-transfer resistance and a high utilization ratio of the amine compound (63%). Moisture had a promoting effect on the sorption separation of CO2 . In addition, the developed sorbent could be regenerated easily at 100°C, and it exhibited excellent regenerability and stability. | 4 | Discovery of tip induced unconventional superconductivity on Weyl semimetal显示文摘Weyl fermion is a massless Dirac fermion with definite chirality,which has been long pursued since 1929.Though it has not been observed as a fundamental particle in nature,Weyl fermion can be realized as low-energy excitation around Weyl point in Weyl semimetal,which possesses Weyl fermion cones in the bulk and nontrivial Fermi arc states on the surface. As a firstly discovered Weyl semimetal,Ta As crystal possesses 12 pairs of Weyl points in the momentum space,which are topologically protected against small perturbations. Here,we report for the first time the tip induced superconductivity on Ta As crystal by point contact spectroscopy. The zero bias conductance peak as well as a conductance plateau with double conductance peaks and sharp double dips are observed in the point contact spectra simultaneously,indicating unconventional superconductivity. Our further theoretical study suggests that the induced superconductivity may have nontrivial topology. | 8 | A branched dihydrophenazine-based polymer as a cathode material to achieve dual-ion batteries with high energy and power density显示文摘Organic electrode materials have exhibited good electrochemical performance in batteries,but their voltages and rate capabilities still require improvement to meet the increasing demand for batteries with high energy and power density.Herein,we design and synthesize a branched dihydrophenazine-based polymer(p-TPPZ)as a cathode material for dual-ion batteries(DIBs)through delicate molecular design.Compared with the linear dihydrophenazine-based polymer(p-DPPZ,with a theoretical capacity of 209 mAh g^(−1)),p-TPPZ possessed a higher theoretical capacity of 233 mAh g^(−1)and lower highest occupied molecular orbital energy levels,which resulted in a high actual capacity(169.3 mAh g^(−1)at 0.5 C),an average discharge voltage of 3.65 V(vs.Li+/Li)and a high energy density(618.2 Wh kg^(−1),based on the cathode materials).The branched structure of p-TPPZ led to a larger specific surface area than that of p-DPPZ,which was beneficial for the electrolyte infiltration and fast ionic transport,contributing to the high power density.Due to the fast reaction kinetics,even at a power density of 23,725 W kg^(−1)(40 C),the energy density still reached 474.5 Wh kg^(−1).We also made a detailed investigation of the p-TPPZ cathode’s charge storage mechanism.This work will stimulate the further molecular design to develop organic batteries with both high energy and power density. | Shuaifei Xu Huichao Dai Shaolong Zhu Yanchao Wu Mingxuan Sun Yuan Chen Kun Fan Chenyang Zhang Chengliang Wang Wenping Hu | 2021 | eScience2021,1,1: | 2 |
| 9 | Effects of sludge retention time,carbon and initial biomass concentrations on selection process:From activated sludge to polyhydroxyalkanoate accumulating cultures显示文摘Four sequence batch reactors(SBRs) fed by fermented sugar cane wastewater were continuously operated under the aerobic dynamic feeding(ADF) mode with different configurations of sludge retention time(SRT), carbon and initial biomass concentrations to enrich polyhydroxyalkanoate(PHA) accumulating mixed microbial cultures(MMCs) from municipal activated sludge.The stability of SBRs was investigated besides the enrichment performance. The microbial community structures of the enriched MMCs were analyzed using terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism(T-RFLP). The optimum operating conditions for the enrichment process were: SRT of 5 days, carbon concentration of 2.52 g COD/L and initial biomass concentration of3.65 g/L. The best enrichment performance in terms of both operating stability and PHA storage ability of enriched cultures(with the maximum PHA content and PHA storage yield(YPHA/S) of61.26% and 0.68 mg COD/mg COD, respectively) was achieved under this condition. Effects of the SRT, carbon concentration and initial biomass concentration on the PHA accumulating MMCs selection process were discussed respectively. | 15 | Laser-annealing-made amplified spontaneous emission of 'giant' CdSe/CdS core/shell nanocrystals transferred from bulk-like shell to quantum-confined core显示文摘'Giant' Cd Se/Cd S core/shell nanocrystals(NCs) were synthesized with thick Cd S shell(15 monolayers), and the x-ray diffraction(XRD) measurement indicates there is a zinc blende phase in the thick Cd S shell, whereas it transformed into wurtzite phase under 5 min radiation with a 400 nm, 594 μJ∕cm2femtosecond(fs) laser beam.The evolution of the NCs’ spontaneous emission under the fs laser radiation was recorded with a Hamamatsu streak camera. The as-synthesized NCs exhibit an amplified spontaneous emission(ASE) at 530 nm, which comes from a bulk-like Cd S shell due to the interfacial potential barrier, which could slow down the relaxation of holes from the shell to the core. After being annealed by an fs laser, the ASE of the g-NCs is transferred from a bulk-like Cd S shell to a quantum-confined Cd Se core because the phase transformation determined with the XRD measurement could remove the interfacial barrier. | 18 | Green and Effective Ammonium Carbonate-assisted Process for Drying Hemicellulose Obtained through Alkali Extraction of Bleached Bamboo Kraft Pulp显示文摘Hemicellulose has a wide range of applications,including that as an emulsifier for the food industry and raw material for the synthesis of bioethanol/biochemicals and biodegradable films.Hemicellulose is usually present as a spent liquor,such as the prehydrolysis liquor of the prehydrolysis kraft dissolving pulp production process and the alkali extraction liquor of the cold caustic extraction of pulp fibers.Due to its dilute nature,hemicellulose needs to be dried for practical utilization,and this is challenging.In this study,cellulose and hemicellulose in a bleached bamboo kraft pulp were separated using an alkali extraction process.Hemicellulose obtained from the extraction liquor was dried by an ammonium carbonate-assisted drying process.The effects of drying time and drying temperature were determined.Structure of the hemicellulose obtained by the ammonium carbonate-assisted drying process was similar to that of original hemicellulose,as revealed by detailed Fourier transform infrared and X-ray diffraction analyses.The novel drying method was more energy efficient and required a shorter drying time than the conventional freeze drying method,and the excellent solubility in alkaline solutions favored the chemical modification of hemicellulose.The dried hemicellulose can be used as a renewable raw material for the preparation of hydrogels and other substances such as bioethanol/biochemicals and biodegradable films. | Xiaoqi Gong Zongwei Zhang Yonghao Ni Xinhua Ouyang Lihui Chen Liulian Huang Huichao Hu | 2021 | Paper And Biomaterials2021,6,1: | 1 |

| 20 | Novel recombinant R-spondin1 promotes hair regeneration by targeting the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway显示文摘Roof plate-specific spondin 1(R-spondin1,RSPO1)is a Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway activator that binds with Wnt ligands to stimulate the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,which is key to hair regeneration.However,it is not clear whether recombinant RSPO1(rRSPO1)affects hair regeneration.Here,we treat C57BL/6 male mice with rRSPO1 and investigate the expression of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and the activation of hair follicle stem cells in the dorsal skin.The mouse skin color score and hair-covered area are determined to describe hair growth,and the skin samples are subjected to H&E staining,western blot analysis and immunofluorescence staining to evaluate hair follicle development and the expressions of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway-related proteins.We find that rRSPO1 activates mouse hair follicle stem cells(mHFSCs)and accelerates hair regeneration.rRSPO1 increases the hair-covered area,the number of hair follicles,and the hair follicle diameter and length.Moreover,rRSPO1 enhances the activity of Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway-related proteins and the expressions of HFSC markers,as well as mHFSC viability.These results indicate that subcutaneous injection of rRSPO1 can improve hair follicle development by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway,thereby promoting hair regeneration.This study demonstrates that rRSPO1 has the potential to treat hair loss by activating the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway. | Yijun Chen Zhujin Lu Jiaxin Feng Zefeng Chen Zejian Liu Xiuqi Wang Huichao Yan Chunqi Gao | 2023 | Acta Biochimica et Biophysica Sinica2023,55,8: | 0 |
