1Common bile duct stones on multidetector computed tomography:Attenuation patterns and detectability显示文摘AIM:To investigate the attenuation patterns and detectability of common bile duct(CBD) stones by multidetector computed tomography(MDCT).METHODS:Between March 2010 and February 2012,191 patients with suspicion of CBD stones undergoing both MDCT and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) were enrolled and reviewed retrospectively.The attenuation patterns of CBD stones on MDCT were classified as heavily calcified,radiopaque,less radiopaque,or undetectable.The association between the attenuation patterns of CBD stones on MDCT and stone type consisting of pure cholesterol,mixed cholesterol,brown pigment,and black pigment and the factors related to the detectability of CBD stones by MDCT were evaluated.RESULTS:MDCT showed CBD stones in 111 of 130 patients in whom the CBD stones were demonstrated by ERCP with 85.4% sensitivity.The attenuation patterns of CBD stones on MDCT were heavily calcified 34(26%),radiopaque 31(24%),less radiopaque 46(35%),and undetectable 19(15%).The radiopacity of CBD stones differed significantly according to stone type(P < 0.001).From the receiver operating characteristic curve,stone size was useful for the determination of CBD stone by MDCT(area under curve 0.779,P < 0.001) and appropriate cut-off stone size on MDCT was 5 mm.The factors related to detectability of CBD stones on MDCT were age,stone type,and stone size on multivariate analysis(P < 0.05).CONCLUSION:The radiopacity of CBD stones on MDCT differed according to stone type.Stone type and stone size were related to the detectability by MDCT,and appropriate cut-off stone size was 5 mm.Chang Whan Kim Jae Hyuck Chang Yeon Soo Lim Tae Ho Kim In Seok Lee Sok Won Han 2013World Journal of Gastroenterology2013,19,11:24

10Ethanol Extract of Lycopodium serratum Thunb. Attenuates Lipopolysaccharide-Induced C6 Glioma Cells Migration via Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 Expression显示文摘Objectives: To elucidate how ethanol extract of L. serratum(ELS) could exert anti-migratory effects on glioma with the suppression of nuclear factor kappa B(NF-κB) downstream pathway. Methods: Cell viability of ELS on C6 glioma was detected by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide(MTT) assay. Nitric oxide(NO) assay and 2',7'-dichlorofluorescin diacetate(DCFH-DA) assay were applied to measure NO production and reactive oxygen species(ROS) generation on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced C6 glioma cells. NF-κB, mitogen-activated protein kinase(MAPK), inducible nictric oxide synthase(i NOS) and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) protein were determined by Western blot. Wound healing assay was used to investigate the inhibitory effect of ELS on fetal bovine serum(FBS)-induced migration and matrix metalloproteinase(MMP)-9 and-2 activity was examined by zymography. Results: ELS suppressed LPS-induced phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK), c-Jun N-terminal kinase(JNK), and p38 through inhibiting the expression of chemokine CCL2(or monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, MCP-1). In addition, ELS inhibited the expression of i NOS, COX-2, and the production of NO by LPS in C6 glioma cells. ELS also significantly decreased serum-induced migration of C6 glioma cells in scratch wound healing in a dose-dependent manner(P<0.01). The activity of MMP-9 and-2 were also significantly attenuated by ELS with LPS treatment(P<0.01). 11Unveiling the role of Ni in Ru-Ni oxide for oxygen evolution: Lattice oxygen participation enhanced by structural distortion显示文摘Introducing Ni in Ru oxide is a promising approach to enhance the catalytic activity for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER).However,the role of Ni(which has a poor intrinsic activity)is not fully understood.Here,a Ru NiO_(x)electrode fabricated via a modified dip coating method exhibited excellent OER performance in acidic media,and neutral media for CO_(2)reduction reaction.We combined in-situ/operando X-ray absorption near-edge structure and on-line inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry studies to unveil the role of the Ni introduced in the Ru oxide.We propose that the Ni not only transforms the electronic structure of the Ru oxide,but also produces a large number of oxygen vacancies by distorting the oxygen lattice structure at low overpotentials,increasing the participation of lattice oxygen for OER.This work demonstrates the real behavior of bimetallic oxide materials under applied potentials and provides new insights into the development of efficient electrocatalysts.Young-Jin Ko Man Ho Han Chulwan Lim Seung-Ho Yu Chang Hyuck Choi Byoung Koun Min Jae-Young Choi Woong Hee Lee Hyung-Suk Oh 2023Journal of Energy Chemistry2023,,2:0
