| 1 | Intraoperative radiofrequency ablation with or without tumorectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma in locations difficult for a percutaneous approach显示文摘BACKGROUND:Although hepatic resection is widely accepted as a proper modality for treating hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),a majority of patients are unable to undergo surgical resection due to various tumor and patient factors.Radiofrequency ablation(RFA)has mostly been used as a therapeutic alternative to resection for treating HCC.The objective of this study was to evaluate the results of intraoperative RFA for HCCs in locations difficult for a percutaneous approach.METHODS:Eight patients(male,seven;age,49-67 years) with 8 HCCs in difficult locations were treated by intraoperative RFA.Six of the patients had local tumor progression after initial transarterial chemoembolization or ultrasound(US)guided percutaneous RFA.The locations of the tumors were hepatic dome in six patients,posterior subcapsule in one,and caudate lobe in one.The tumor size was 2.0 to 6.4 cm(mean,3.9 cm).Intraoperative RFA was performed at the tumor itself and an anticipated resection line under US guidance with 3 cm monopolar single or clustered internally cooled electrodes.Tumor resection was performed in six patients.One month later,treatment response was assessed by contrast material-enhanced computed tomography(CT).CT studies were performed every 2 or 3 months after RFA.RESULTS:RFA was technically successful in all tumors,and the contrast-enhanced CT images acquired one month later showed complete disappearance of tumor enhancement.One pneumothorax occurred.After a median follow-up of 18 months(range,6-30 months),no tumors showed local progression.During the follow-up period,four new recurrent tumors were observed in three patients.Four patients were alive at the time of this report and the other four died of hepatorenal syndrome,liver failure,and progression of new recurrent tumors.CONCLUSION:Intraoperative RFA with tumor resection can be an alterative treatment option for HCC in locations difficult for a percutaneous approach. | Hyung Ook Kim Seung Kwon Kim Byung Ho Son Chang Hak Yoo Hyun Pyo Hong Yong Kyun Cho Byung Ik Kim | 2009 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2009,8,6: | 9 |

| 5 | Defect-Detection Model for Underground Parking Lots Using Image Object-Detection Method显示文摘The demand for defect diagnoses is gradually gaining ground owing to the growing necessity to implement safe inspection methods to ensure the durability and quality of structures.However,conventional manpower-based inspection methods not only incur considerable cost and time,but also cause frequent disputes regarding defects owing to poor inspections.Therefore,the demand for an effective and efficient defect-diagnosis model for concrete structures is imminent,as the reduction in maintenance costs is significant from a long-term perspective.Thus,this paper proposes a deep learning-based image objectidentification method to detect the defects of paint peeling,leakage peeling,and leakage traces that mostly occur in underground parking lots made of concrete structures.The deep learning-based object-detection method can replace conventional visual inspection methods.A faster region-based convolutional neural network(R-CNN)model was used with a training dataset of 6,281 images that utilized a region proposal network to objectively localize the regions of interest and detect the surface defects.The defects were classified according to their type,and the learning of each exclusive model was ensured through test sets obtained from real underground parking lots.As a result,average precision scores of 37.76%,36.42%,and 61.29%were obtained for paint peeling,leakage peeling,and leakage trace defects,respectively.Thus,this study verified the performance of the faster RCNN-based defect-detection algorithm along with its applicability to underground parking lots. | Hyun Kyu Shin Si Woon Lee Goo Pyo Hong Lee Sael Sang Hyo Lee Ha Young Kim | 2021 | Computers, Materials & Continua2021,,3: | 1 |

| 12 | Effect of music on colonoscopy performance: A propensity scorematched analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND Music has been used to reduce stress and improve task performance during medical therapy.AIM To assess the effects of music on colonoscopy performance outcomes.METHODS We retrospectively reviewed patients who underwent colonoscopy performed by four endoscopists with popular music.Colonoscopy performance outcomes,such as insertion time,adenoma detection rate(ADR),and polyp detection rate(PDR),were compared between the music and non-music groups.To reduce selection bias,propensity score matching was used.RESULTS After one-to-one propensity score matching,169 colonoscopies were selected from each group.No significant differences in insertion time(4.97 vs 5.17 min,P=0.795)and ADR(39.1%vs 46.2%,P=0.226)were found between the two groups.Subgroup analysis showed that the insertion time(3.6 vs 3.8 min,P=0.852)and ADR(51.1%vs 44.7%,P=0.488)did not significantly differ between the two groups in experts.However,in trainees,PDR(46.9%vs 66.7%,P=0.016)and ADR(25.9%vs 47.6%,P=0.006)were significantly lower in the music than in the nonmusic group.CONCLUSION The current study found that listening to music during colonoscopy did not affect procedure performance.Moreover,it suggested that music may distract trainees from appropriately detecting adenomas and polyps. | Eun Jeong Choi Sam Ryong Jee Sang Heon Lee Jun Sik Yoon Seung Jung Yu Jong Hyun Lee Han Byul Lee Sang Wook Yi Myeong Pyo Kim Byung Cheol Chung Hong Sub Lee | 2023 | World Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy2023,15,5: | 0 |
| 13 | Curvature range measurements of the arcuate fasciculus using diffusion tensor tractography显示文摘Because Broca's area and Wernicke's area in the brain are connected by the arcuate fasciculus, understanding the anatomical location and morphometry of the arcuate fasciculus can help in the treatment of patients with aphasia. We measured the horizontal and vertical curvature ranges of the arcuate fasciculus in both hemispheres in 12 healthy subjects using diffusion tensor tractography. In the right hemisphere, the direct curvature range and indirect curvature range values of the arcuate fasciculus horizontal part were 121.13 ± 5.89 and 25.99 ± 3.01 degrees, respectively, and in the left hemisphere, the values were 121.83 ± 5.33 and 27.40 ± 2.96 degrees, respectively. In the right hemisphere, the direct curvature range and indirect curvature range values of the arcuate fasciculus vertical part were 43.97 ± 7.98 and 30.15 ± 3.82 degrees, respectively, and in the left hemisphere, the values were 39.39 ± 4.42 and 24.08 ± 4.34 degrees, respectively.
