| 1 | Nanocomposite quasi-solid-state electrolyte for high-safety lithium batteries显示文摘Rechargeable lithium batteries are attractive power sources for electronicdevices and are being aggressively developed for vehicular use. Nevertheless, problems with their safety and reliability must be solved for the large-scale useof lithium batteries in transportation and grid-storage applications. In this study,a unique hybrid solid-state electrolyte composed of an ionic liquid electrolyte(LiTFSI/Pyr14TFSI) and BaTiO3 nanosize ceramic particles was prepared withouta polymer. The electrolyte exhibited high thermal stability, a wide electrochemicalwindow, good ionic conductivity of 1.3×10-3 S-cm-1 at 30 ℃, and a remarkably highlithium-ion transference number of 0.35. The solid-state LiFePO4 cell exhibited thebest electrochemical properties among the reported solid-state batteries, along witha reasonable rate capability. Li/LiCoO2 cells prepared using this nanocompositesolid electrolyte exhibited high performance at both room temperature and a hightemperature, confirming their potential as lithium batteries with enhanced safetyand a wide range of oDerating temrperatures. | Hyunji Choi Hyun Woo Kim Jae-Kwang Kim Young Jun Lim Youngsik Kim Jou-Hyeon Ahn | 2017 | Nano Research2017,10,9: | 4 |

| 7 | Optimized Mn and Bi co-doping in SnTe based thermoelectric material:A case of band engineering and density of states tuning显示文摘Tin telluride(SnTe)overwhelmingly continues to be studied owing to its promising thermoelectric properties, tunable electronic structure, and its potential as an alternate to toxic lead telluride(PbTe)based materials. In this research,we engineer the electronic properties of SnTe by co-doping Mn and Bi below their individual solubility limit. The First principles density functio nal theory studies reveal that both Bi and Mn introduce resonance states, thereby increasing the density of states near the Fermi level leading to enhanced Seebeck coefficient. This unique combination of using two resonant dopants to introduce flatter bands is effective in achieving higher performance at lower tempe ratures manifesting into a large Seebeck value of~91μV/K at room temperature in the present case. Both elements optimally co-doped results in a very high power factor value of~24.3μW/cmK^(2) at 773 K when compared to other high performance SnTe based materials.A zT of~0.93 at 773 K is achieved by tuning the proportion of the co-dopants Mn and Bi in SnTe.The hardness value of pristine SnTe was also seen to increase after doping. As a result, synergistic optimized doping proves to be a suitable means for obtaining thermoelectric materials of superior characteristics without the need for heavy doping. | Samuel Kimani Kihoi Joseph Ngugi Kahiu Hyunji Kim U.Sandhya Shenoy D.Krishna Bhat Seonghoon Yi Ho Seong Lee | 2021 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2021,,26: | 1 |
| 8 | Combination of anti-PD-L1 antibody with peptide MEL-dKLA targeting M2 tumor-associated macrophages suppresses breast cancer metastasis显示文摘Dear editors,Breast cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide and is the most common cancer among women[1].The cause of death in patients with breast cancer is not the primary tumor itself but mainly metastasis. The most common sites of breast cancer metastasis include the bones, lungs, brain, lymph nodes, and liver.Importantly, lung metastasis has been a particular concern as it results in high patient morbidity and mortality rates[2]. | Chanju Lee Hyunji Lee Hayoon Cho Soyoung Kim Ilseob Choi Young-Sik Hwang Hyunju Jeong Hogi Jang Sehyun Pak Deok-Sang Hwang Ik-Hwan Han Hyunsu Bae | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,4: | 0 |

| 10 | High-throughput computational-experimental screening protocol for the discovery of bimetallic catalysts显示文摘To accelerate the discovery of materials through computations and experiments,a well-established protocol closely bridging these methods is required. We introduce a high-throughput screening protocol for the discovery of bimetallic catalysts that replace palladium(Pd),where the similarities in the electronic density of states patterns were employed as a screening descriptor.Using first-principles calculations,we screened 4350 bimetallic alloy structures and proposed eight candidates expected to have catalytic performance comparable to that of Pd.Our experiments demonstrate that four bimetallic catalysts indeed exhibit catalytic properties comparable to those of Pd.Moreover,we discover a bimetallic(Ni-Pt)catalyst that has not yet been reported for H_(2)O_(2) direct synthesis. In particular,Ni_(61)Pt_(39) outperforms the prototypical Pd catalyst for the chemical reaction and exhibits a 9.5-fold enhancement in cost-normalized productivity. This protocol provides an opportunity for the catalyst discovery for the replacement or reduction in the use of the platinum-group metals. | Byung Chul Yeo Hyunji Nam Hyobin Nam Min-Cheol Kim Hong Woo Lee Sung-Chul Kim Sung Ok Won Donghun Kim Kwan-Young Lee Seung Yong Lee Sang Soo Han | 2021 | npj Computational Materials2021,,1: | 0 |
