2Use of Local Region Maps on Convolutional LSTM for Single-Image HDR Reconstruction显示文摘Low dynamic range(LDR)images captured by consumer cameras have a limited luminance range.As the conventional method for generating high dynamic range(HDR)images involves merging multiple-exposure LDR images of the same scene(assuming a stationary scene),we introduce a learning-based model for single-image HDR reconstruction.An input LDR image is sequentially segmented into the local region maps based on the cumulative histogram of the input brightness distribution.Using the local region maps,SParam-Net estimates the parameters of an inverse tone mapping function to generate a pseudo-HDR image.We process the segmented region maps as the input sequences on long short-term memory.Finally,a fast super-resolution convolutional neural network is used for HDR image reconstruction.The proposed method was trained and tested on datasets including HDR-Real,LDR-HDR-pair,and HDR-Eye.The experimental results revealed that HDR images can be generated more reliably than using contemporary end-to-end approaches.Seungwook Oh GyeongIk Shin Hyunki Hong 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,6:0
3Using Speaker-Specific Emotion Representations in Wav2vec 2.0-Based Modules for Speech Emotion Recognition显示文摘Speech emotion recognition is essential for frictionless human-machine interaction,where machines respond to human instructions with context-aware actions.The properties of individuals’voices vary with culture,language,gender,and personality.These variations in speaker-specific properties may hamper the performance of standard representations in downstream tasks such as speech emotion recognition(SER).This study demonstrates the significance of speaker-specific speech characteristics and how considering them can be leveraged to improve the performance of SER models.In the proposed approach,two wav2vec-based modules(a speaker-identification network and an emotion classification network)are trained with the Arcface loss.The speaker-identification network has a single attention block to encode an input audio waveform into a speaker-specific representation.The emotion classification network uses a wav2vec 2.0-backbone as well as four attention blocks to encode the same input audio waveform into an emotion representation.These two representations are then fused into a single vector representation containing emotion and speaker-specific information.Experimental results showed that the use of speaker-specific characteristics improves SER performance.Additionally,combining these with an angular marginal loss such as the Arcface loss improves intra-class compactness while increasing inter-class separability,as demonstrated by the plots of t-distributed stochastic neighbor embeddings(t-SNE).The proposed approach outperforms previous methods using similar training strategies,with a weighted accuracy(WA)of 72.14%and unweighted accuracy(UA)of 72.97%on the Interactive Emotional Dynamic Motion Capture(IEMOCAP)dataset.This demonstrates its effectiveness and potential to enhance human-machine interaction through more accurate emotion recognition in speech.Somin Park Mpabulungi Mark Bogyung Park Hyunki Hong 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,10:0
4Clustering Reference Images Based on Covisibility for Visual Localization显示文摘In feature-based visual localization for small-scale scenes,local descriptors are used to estimate the camera pose of a query image.For large and ambiguous environments,learning-based hierarchical networks that employ local as well as global descriptors to reduce the search space of database images into a smaller set of reference views have been introduced.However,since global descriptors are generated using visual features,reference images with some of these features may be erroneously selected.In order to address this limitation,this paper proposes two clustering methods based on how often features appear as well as their covisibility.For both approaches,the scene is represented by voxels whose size and number are computed according to the size of the scene and the number of available 3Dpoints.In the first approach,a voxel-based histogram representing highly reoccurring scene regions is generated from reference images.A meanshift is then employed to group the most highly reoccurring voxels into place clusters based on their spatial proximity.In the second approach,a graph representing the covisibility-based relationship of voxels is built.Local matching is performed within the reference image clusters,and a perspective-n-point is employed to estimate the camera pose.The experimental results showed that camera pose estimation using the proposed approaches was more accurate than that of previous methods.Sangyun Lee Junekoo Kang Hyunki Hong 2023Computers, Materials & Continua2023,,5:0
