| 1 | A Study of Noun Phrase Focus in Fulfulde: The Case Study of Adamawa Dialect显示文摘Focus constructions are syntactically rich aspects of Fulfulde grammar. This paper aims at investigating the nature of noun phrase(NP) focus in Fulfulde with particular reference to Adamawa dialect. The study employed two methodological techniques for data collection: observation and oral interview. These techniques were used in collecting data from different categories of native speakers. The Principles and Parameters theory was adopted as the theoretical framework for data analysis in the study. The study shows that noun phrase NP focus in Adamawa dialect of Fulfulde involves movement of the focused element which is accompanied with a focus marker(FM). The study has identified five different FMs that are commonly used in the dialect depending on the semantic requirement. They are: on, ni, faa, dey and tan. | Idris Muhammad Bello Adamu Abubakar Muhammad Bashir Usman Akisani Y.Samaila | 2019 | Language and Semiotic Studies2019,5,2: | 0 |
| 2 | Strategies for Adoption of Circular Economy in the Nigeria Construction Industry显示文摘The concept of circular economy has gained recognition as a way to manage waste and conserve resources sustainably, and has the potential to transform the construction industry. This is particularly relevant in the construction industry due to the significant amounts of waste generated during the construction and demolition process. This study examines the perceived importance and effectiveness of strategies related to the circular economy in the construction industry. The data were collected through a survey administered to professionals in the construction sector, capturing their perceptions of various strategies. The results reveal that most strategies received high mean ratings, indicating their perceived significance.Strategies such as waste management and recycling facilities, design for disassembly, and prioritising the use of renewable and sustainable materials were highly valued by the respondents.Additionally, statistical analyses confirmed the significance of these strategies. However, some strategies received comparatively lower ratings, suggesting the need for further attention and improvement. The findings have important implications for policymakers, industry professionals, and stakeholders, guiding decision-making and resource allocation.By prioritising and implementing the identified strategies, stakeholders can drive the adoption of circular economy principles, enhance resource efficiency, and reduce waste in construction practices.Furthermore, this study lays the foundation for future research, highlighting the importance of exploring barriers to implementation, understanding synergies and trade-offs among strategies, conducting longitudinal studies to assess long-term impact, and broadening the participant pool for a more comprehensive understanding.Overall, this study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on the circular economy in the construction industry and provides valuable insights for promoting sustainability and circularity within the sector. | Abdullahi Idris Abdulkabir Opeyemi Bello | 2023 | Journal of Management Science & Engineering Research2023,6,2: | 0 |
| 3 | Prevalence of human leishmaniasis in Sudan: A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘BACKGROUND There are three main forms of leishmaniasis in humans:cutaneous leishmaniasis(CL),visceral leishmaniasis(VL),and mucocutaneous leishmaniasis. The prevalence of human leishmaniasis varies widely in different countries and different regions of the same country. To date, there is no overall estimation of the prevalence of human leishmaniasis in Sudan.AIM To determine the pooled prevalence of human leishmaniasis and the disease risk factors among Sudanese citizens.METHODS From all articles written in English or Arabic languages conducted before the 4th of August 2021 from[Scopus,Web of Science,PubMed,and MEDLINE,African Journals Online(AJOL),ResearchGate, direct Google search,Google Scholar, and universities websites], just 20 articles with a total of 230960 participants were eligible for thisstudy. Data synthesis and analysis were done using STATA software, version 16. EndNotecitation manager version X9.3.3 and Reference Citation Analysis (RCA) were used to remove theduplicated studies and manage the citation respectively.RESULTSThe overall pooled prevalence of human leishmaniasis in Sudan was 21% (with confidence interval12%-30%). CL was the most common type of leishmaniasis in Sudan, with a pooled prevalence of26% followed by VL (18%). Nevertheless, the pooled prevalence of human leishmaniasis in Sudanwas higher in males compared with females (60% vs 40%). The current results revealed that thepeople in the age group between 15 and 44 were the most affected group (60%), and central Sudanhas the highest pooled prevalence of human leishmaniasis (27%) compared with other regions ofSudan. Finally, the prevalence of human leishmaniasis seems to decrease with time.CONCLUSIONThis study showed that human leishmaniasis infection is still endemic in many regions in Sudanand highly prevalent in central and eastern Sudan, and CL is the most prevalent in the country.Males and adults were more susceptible to infection compared with females and children. However, the human leishmaniasis prevalence decreased relatively over time. | Musa Ahmed Abdullah Abdulslam Abdullah Idris Bello Suad Hamad Aboelgassim Bashir | 2022 | World Journal of Methodology2022,12,4: | 0 |
