1Differentiation of illicit drugs with THz time-domain spectroscopy显示文摘The terahertz time-domain spectroscopy(THz-TDS) was used for sensing and identifying illicit drugs.The absorption spectra of seven illicit drug samples(morphine and its hydrochloride,cocaine hydrochloride,codeine phosphate,papaverine hydrochloride,pethidine hydrochloride,and thebaine) were studied by THz-TDS at 0.3-2.0 THz at room temperature.The geometric structure and vibration frequencies of morphine were calculated by density functional theory.The four absorption features were dominated by intra-/inter-molecular collective or lattice vibration modes.Each illicit drug has a distinct signature in its THz spectra.The results indicate that the THz-TDS can be used to identify and discriminate illicit drugs by their characteristic fingerprints.LIU Guifeng MA Shihua JI Te ZHAO Hongwei WANG Wenfeng 2010Nuclear Science and Techniques2010,21,4:7
2New status of the infrared beamlines at SSRF显示文摘There are two infrared beamlines at the Shanghai synchrotron radiation facility(SSRF)-BL01B and BL06B.BL01B was the first infrared beamline of the National Facility for Protein Science in Shanghai at SSRF,which is dedicated to synchrotron infrared microspectroscopy.It utilizes bending magnet radiation and edge radiation as light sources.Diffraction-limited spatial resolution is reached in the infrared microspectroscopy experiment.BL01B has been in operation for approximately five years since it opened in January 2015.In the past few years,many meaningful results have been published by user groups from various disciplines,such as biomacromolecule materials and pharmaceutical,environmental,and biomedical sciences.In addition,a new infrared beamline station BL06B is under construction,which is optimized for the mid-infrared and far-infrared band.BL06B is equipped with a vacuum-type Fourier transform infrared spectrometer,infrared microscope,custom longworking-distance infrared microscope,infrared scanning near-field optical microscope,and mid-infrared Mueller ellipsometer.The purpose is to serve experiments with high vacuum requirements and spatial resolution experiments,as well as those that are in situ and time-sensitive,such as high-pressure and atomic force microscopy infrared experiments.The station can be used for research in biomaterials,pharmacy,geophysics,nanotechnology,and semiconductor materials.Xiao-Jie Zhou Hua-Chun Zhu Jia-Jia Zhong Wei-Wei Peng Te Ji Yue-Cheng Lin Yu-Zhao Tang Min Chen 2019Nuclear Science and Techniques2019,30,12:3
3Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy of some pentoses显示文摘The well-resolved absorption spectra of D-xylose, D-ribose, D-arabinose, D-lyxose and other related substances in the spectral region between 0.3 and 2.0 THz are measured using tera- hertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) at 295 K. Comparing the absorption spectra of different chemicals, we can distinguish the samples easily. 7Optical properties of carbon materials filled HDPE composites in THz region显示文摘The optical and electrical properties of several composites, formed by filling the high density polyethylene (HDPE) with similar amount of carbon black (CB), multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNT) and fullerene (C60), respectively, were characterized using a THz-TDS setup. It was found that the optical parameters and the details of their variation with frequency differ significantly for different kinds of carbon materials. The results are analyzed by using Cole-Cole formula of dipole relaxation under the assumption that carbon particles dispersed in the matrix behave like dipoles and contribute mainly to the dielectric loss in the THz frequency range. Fitting results indicate that MWNT and CB filled composites have a broader distribution of the relaxation time compared with C60 which possesses a nearly single relaxation time. Compared with CB and C60, MWNT filled composite possesses the larger relaxation strength due to its higher electron density and larger conductive clusters. The real part of conductivity for three kinds of composites all follows power law behavior with respect to frequency but the exponents are quite different. 15Terahertz identification and quantification of penicillamine enantiomers显示文摘Identification and characterization of L-, D- and DL- penicillamine were demonstrated by Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS). To understand the physical origins of the low frequency resonant modes, the density functional theory (DFT) was adopted for theoretical calculation. It was found that the collective THz frequency motions were decided by the intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bond interactions. Moreover, the quantification of penicillamine enantiomers mixture was demonstrated by a THz spectra fitting method with a relative error of less than 3.5%.
