| 1 | Identification of a denitrifying bacterium and verification of its anaerobic ammonium oxidation ability显示文摘A strain D3 of denitrifying bacterium was isolated from an anammox reactor, and identi-fied as Pseudomonas mendocina based on the morphological and physiological assay,Vitek test,Biolog test,(G+C) mol% content, and 16S rDNA phylogenetic analysis. As a typical denitrifying bac-terium,strain D3 achieved the maximal nitrate reduction rate of 26.2 mg/(L·d) at the nitrate concen-tration of 88.5 mg N/L.The optimal pH and growth temperature were 7.84 and 34.9℃,respectively.Strain D3 was able to oxidize ammonia under anaerobic condition. The maximum nitrate and ammo-nium utilization rates were 6.37 mg/(L·d) and 3.34 mg/(L·d) ,respectively, and the consumption ratio of ammonia to nitrate was 1:1.91.Electron microscopic observation revealed peculiar cell inclusions in strain D3.Because of its relation to anammox activity, strain D3 was presumed to be anammoxosome. The present investigation proved that denitrifying bacteria have the anammox ability, and the results have engorged the range of anammox populations. | HU Baolan ZHENG Ping LI Jinye XU Xiangyang JIN Rencun | 2006 | Science China(Life Sciences)2006,49,5: | 13 |
| 2 | Performance of sulfate-dependent anaerobic ammonium oxidation显示文摘The performance of sulfate-dependent anaerobic ammonium oxidation was studied. The results showed that both SO42-and NH4+ were chemically stable under anaerobic conditions. They did not react with each other in the absence of biological catalyst(sludge). The anaerobic digested sludge cultivated in an anaerobic reactor for three years took on the ability of oxidizing ammonium with sulfate anaero-bically.The average reduction of sulfate and ammonium was 71.67 mg.L-1 and 56.82 mg.L-1 at high concentrations. The reaction between SO42-and NH4+ was difficult, though feasible, due to its low standard Gibbs free energy change. The experiment demonstrated that high substrate concentrations and low oxidation-reduction potential(ORP) may be favourable for the biological reaction. | ZHANG Lei ZHENG Ping HE YuHui JIN RenCun | 2009 | Science China Chemistry2009,52,1: | 9 |

| 8 | A review on anammox process for the treatment of antibiotic-containing wastewater: Linking effects with corresponding mechanisms显示文摘Antibiotic is widely present in the effluent from livestock husbandry and the pharmaceutical industry.Antibiotics in wastewater usually have high biological toxicity and even promote the occurrence and transmission of antibiotic resistant bacteria and antibiotic resistance genes. Moreover, most antibiotic-containing wastewater contains high concentration of ammonia nitrogen.Improper treatment will lead to high risk to the surrounding environment and even human health. The anaerobic ammonium oxidation(anammox)with great economic benefit and good treatment effect is a promising process to remove nitrogen from antibiotic-containing wastewater. However, antibiotic inhibition has been observed in anammox applications. Therefore,a comprehensive overview of the single and combined effects of various antibiotics on the anammox system is conducted in this review with a focus on nitrogen removal performance, sludge properties, microbial community, antibiotic resistance genes and anammox-involved functional genes.Additionally, the influencing mechanism of antibiotics on anammox consortia is summarized.Remaining problems and future research needs are also proposed based on the presented summary. This review provides a better understanding of the influences of antibiotics on anammox and offers a direction to remove nitrogen from antibiotic-containing wastewater by the anammox process. | Jinjin Fu Quan Zhang Baocheng Huang Niansi Fan Rencun Jin | 2021 | Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2021,15,1: | 1 |
