| 1 | Numerical Simulation of Continuous Tension Leveling Process of Thin Strip Steel and Its Application显示文摘Cold-rolled thin strip steel of high flatness quality undergoes multistage deformation during tension leveling. Thus, the parameters of set-up and manipulating are more difficult. With the aid of FE code MSC.MARC, the tension leveling process of thin strip steel was numerically simulated. Concentrating on the influence of the roll intermeshes in 2# anti-cambering on the distribution and magnitude of residual stresses in leveled strip steel, several experiments were done with the tension leveler based on the results from the simulation. It was found from the simulation that the magnitude of longitudinal residual stresses in the cross-section of the leveled strip steel regularly presents obvious interdependence with the roll intermeshes in 2# anti-cambering. In addition, there is a steady zone as the longitudinal residual stresses of the surface layers in leveled strip steel vary with the roll intermeshes of 2# anti-cambering, which is of importance in the manipulation of tension levelers. It was also found that the distribution of strains and stresses across the width of strip steel is uneven during leveling or after removing the tension loaded upon the strip, from which it was found that 3D simulation could not be replaced by 2D analysis because 2D analysis in this case cannot represent the physical behavior of strip steel deformation during tension leveling. | LI Sheng-zhi YIN Yuan-de XU Jie HOU Jun-ming Jaehong YOON | 2007 | Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2007,14,6: | 12 |
| 2 | Geometric and material nonlinear analysis of tensegrity structures显示文摘A numerical method is presented for the large deflection in elastic analysis of tensegrity structures including both geometric and material nonlinearities.The geometric nonlinearity is considered based on both total Lagrangian and updated Lagrangian formulations,while the material nonlinearity is treated through elastoplastic stress-strain relationship.The nonlinear equilibrium equations are solved using an incremental-iterative scheme in conjunction with the modified Newton-Raphson method.A computer program is developed to predict the mechanical responses of tensegrity systems under tensile,compressive and flexural loadings.Numerical results obtained are compared with those reported in the literature to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed program.The flexural behavior of the double layer quadruplex tensegrity grid is sufficiently good for lightweight large-span structural applications.On the other hand,its bending strength capacity is not sensitive to the self-stress level. | Hoang Chi Tran Jaehong Lee | 2011 | Acta Mechanica Sinica2011,27,6: | 6 |

| 5 | Regulation of cell locomotion by nanosecond-laser-induced hydroxyapatite patterning显示文摘Hydroxyapatite,an essential mineral in human bones composed mainly of calcium and phosphorus,is widely used to coat bone graft and implant surfaces for enhanced biocompatibility and bone formation.For a strong implant-bone bond,the bone-forming cells must not only adhere to the implant surface but also move to the surface requiring bone formation.However,strong adhesion tends to inhibit cell migration on the surface of hydroxyapatite.Herein,a cell migration highway pattern that can promote cell migration was prepared using a nanosecond laser on hydroxyapatite coating.The developed surface promoted bone-forming cell movement compared with the unpatterned hydroxyapatite surface,and the cell adhesion and movement speed could be controlled by adjusting the pattern width.Live-cell microscopy,cell tracking,and serum protein analysis revealed the fundamental principle of this phenomenon.These findings are applicable to hydroxyapatite-coated biomaterials and can be implemented easily by laser patterning without complicated processes.The cell migration highway can promote and control cell movement while maintaining the existing advantages of hydroxyapatite coatings.Furthermore,it can be applied to the surface treatment of not only implant materials directly bonded to bone but also various implanted biomaterials implanted that require cell movement control. | Seung-Hoon Um Jaehong Lee In-Seok Song Myoung-Ryul Ok Yu-Chan Kim Hyung-Seop Han Sang-Hoon Rhee Hojeong Jeon | 2021 | Bioactive Materials2021,6,10: | 2 |

| 7 | Fast Web - Based Data Transmission显示文摘Since web based GIS processes large size spatial geographic information on internet, we should try to improve the efficiency of spatial data query processing and transmission. This paper presents two efficient methods for this purpose: division transmission and progressive transmission methods. In division transmission method, a map can be divided into several parts, called “tiles”, and only tiles can be transmitted at the request of a client. In progressive transmission method, a map can be split into several phase views based on the significance of vertices, and a server produces a target object and then transmits it progressively when this spatial object is requested from a client. In order to achieve these methods, the algorithms, “tile division”, “priority order estimation” and the strategies for data transmission are proposed in this paper, respectively. | 8 | The effect of fertilization on early growth of konara oak and Japanese zelkova seedlings planted in a harvested pitch pine plantation显示文摘We determined a suitable amount of fertilizer for konara oak(Quercus serrata) and Japanese zelkova(Zelkova serrata) planted in a harvested pitch pine(Pinus rigida) plantation. Two-year-old bare-root seedlings of konara oak and one-year-old containerized seedlings of Japanese zelkova were planted in April 2011. Three plots were established for each tree species to evaluate each of three fertilization applications. Solid compound fertilizer(N:P:K = 3:4:1) was applied yearly in three amounts(control: no fertilization, F1: 180 kg ha-1, and F2:360 kg ha-1), every May from 2011 to 2013. We measured the root collar diameter and height, and analyzed the compartmental N and P concentrations. Compartmental N concentrations of konara oak and Japanese zelkova were not consistent based on amount of fertilization. However,the compartmental P concentrations of konara oak and Japanese zelkova were significantly different in the order of F2, F1, and control. Although the differences in growth of konara oak appeared after 3 years of fertilization,Japanese zelkova showed differences after only 2 years of fertilization owing to differences in seedling type. Growth of konara oak was affected by fertilization at F1 and F2 in2013. However, growth of Japanese zelkova was affected only at F2. Nutrient demand of Japanese zelkova appeard to be higher than that of konara oak, at least during the early growing period.
