| 4 | A Novel Human Interaction Framework Using Quadratic Discriminant Analysis with HMM显示文摘Human-human interaction recognition is crucial in computer vision fields like surveillance,human-computer interaction,and social robotics.It enhances systems’ability to interpret and respond to human behavior precisely.This research focuses on recognizing human interaction behaviors using a static image,which is challenging due to the complexity of diverse actions.The overall purpose of this study is to develop a robust and accurate system for human interaction recognition.This research presents a novel image-based human interaction recognition method using a Hidden Markov Model(HMM).The technique employs hue,saturation,and intensity(HSI)color transformation to enhance colors in video frames,making them more vibrant and visually appealing,especially in low-contrast or washed-out scenes.Gaussian filters reduce noise and smooth imperfections followed by silhouette extraction using a statistical method.Feature extraction uses the features from Accelerated Segment Test(FAST),Oriented FAST,and Rotated BRIEF(ORB)techniques.The application of Quadratic Discriminant Analysis(QDA)for feature fusion and discrimination enables high-dimensional data to be effectively analyzed,thus further enhancing the classification process.It ensures that the final features loaded into the HMM classifier accurately represent the relevant human activities.The impressive accuracy rates of 93%and 94.6%achieved in the BIT-Interaction and UT-Interaction datasets respectively,highlight the success and reliability of the proposed technique.The proposed approach addresses challenges in various domains by focusing on frame improvement,silhouette and feature extraction,feature fusion,and HMM classification.This enhances data quality,accuracy,adaptability,reliability,and reduction of errors. | Tanvir Fatima Naik Bukht Naif Al Mudawi Saud S.Alotaibi Abdulwahab Alazeb Mohammed Alonazi Aisha Ahmed AlArfaj Ahmad Jalal Jaekwang Kim | 2023 | Computers, Materials & Continua2023,77,11: | 0 |
| 5 | Effect of molybdenum on interfacial properties of titanium carbide reinforced Fe composite显示文摘This study shows that the mechanical strength of the composite of Fe matrix and titanium carbide(Ti C)ceramic particles is significantly enhanced with addition of molybdenum(Mo) atoms. Ti C reinforced Fe(Fe-0.2C-7Mn) composites with and without Mo were fabricated by a liquid pressing infiltration(LPI)process and the effect of Mo on interfacial properties of TiC–Fe composite was investigated using atomic probe tomography(APT) analysis, molecular dynamics(MD) simulations, first-principle density functional theory(DFT), and thermodynamic calculations. First, DFT calculations showed that total energies of the Mo-doped Ti C–Fe superlattices strongly depend on the position of Mo defects, and are minimized when the Mo atom is located at the TiC/Fe interface, supporting the probable formation of MoC-like interphase at the TiC/Fe interface region. Then, APT analysis confirmed the DFT predictions by finding that about6.5 wt.% Mo is incorporated in the Ti C–Fe(Mo) composite and that sub-micrometer thick(Ti,Mo)C interphase is indeed formed near the interface. | 6 | Inhibited shuttle effect by functional separator for room-temperature sodium-sulfur batteries显示文摘According to a statistic,approximately 6 trillion cigarettes are smoked each year all over the world,which produces approximately 1.2 million tons of discarded cigarette butts.The discarded cigarette filters are non-biodegradable,thus they produce a mass of waste disposal and cause environmental pollution is-sue.For the purpose of transforming waste into wealth and reducing environmental pollution,nitrogen and sulfur co-doped carbon nanofiber/carbon black(N,S-CNF/CB)composite derived from the discarded cigarette filters is employed to modify glass fiber(GF)separator for the first time in this study.N,S-CNF improves binding ability towards sodium polysulfides(SPSs)by chemisorption.Non-polar CB limits the dissolution of SPSs in the liquid electrolyte by physisorption.The experiment and density functional theory calculation results indicate that a RT-Na/S battery with a N,S-CNF/CB+GF separator exhibits good cycling stability and rate performance.After 100 cycles at a low current rate of 0.1 C,a RT-Na/S battery with a sulfur mass fraction of 71%delivers a discharge capacity of 703 mAh g^(−1).In addition,at a high current rate of 0.5 C,a discharge capacity of 527 mAh g^(−1) is still maintained after 900 cycles with a very low capacity fading rate of 0.035%per cycle. | Chunwei Dong Hongyu Zhou Hui Liu Bo Jin Zi Wen Xingyou Lang Jianchen Li Jaekwang Kim Qing Jiang | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,18: | 0 |

Film annealing under various environments(O_2, in-Air, N2 and vacuum) resulted in better crystallinity than in the as-grown film. In particular, the film annealed under the N_2 environment showed better crystallinity and electrical properties than films annealed in other environments.
