1Two-Dimensional Materials in Large-Areas: Synthesis, Properties and Applications显示文摘Large-area and high-quality two-dimensional crystals are the basis for the development of the next-generation electronic and optical devices.The synthesis of two-dimensional materials in wafer scales is the first critical step for future technology uptake by the industries;however,currently presented as a significant challenge.Substantial efforts have been devoted to producing atomically thin two-dimensional materials with large lateral dimensions,controllable and uniform thicknesses,large crystal domains and minimum defects.In this review,recent advances in synthetic routes to obtain high-quality two-dimensional crystals with lateral sizes exceeding a hundred micrometres are outlined.Applications of the achieved large-area two-dimensional crystals in electronics and optoelectronics are summarised,and advantages and disadvantages of each approach considering ease of the synthesis,defects,grain sizes and uniformity are discussed.Ali Zavabeti Azmira Jannat Li Zhong Azhar Ali Haidry Zhengjun Yao Jian Zhen Ou 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,5:4
2Epalrestat improves motor symptoms by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation in the reserpine induced mouse model of Parkinson’s disease显示文摘Background:Parkinson's disease(PD)is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder affecting a large number of elderly people worldwide.The current therapies for PD are symptom-based;they do not provide a cure but improve the quality of life.Muscular dysfunction is the hallmark clinical feature of PD and oxidative stress and inflammation play a critical role in its pathogenesis.Epalrestat is used for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy and is known to improve antioxidative defense mechanisms in the CNS.Therefore,in this study,we investigated the role of Epalrestat in the reserpine induced mouse model of PD.Method:We used Swiss Albino mice for the PD model and tested for akinesia/bradykinesia,muscular rigidity,palpebral ptosis,and tremor,as well as conducting swim and open field tests.Brain samples were used to determine oxidative stress parameters and infiltration of immune cells.Results:Epalrestat treatment significantly improved akinesia and bradykinesia,muscular dysfunctions,tremor level,and gait functions compared to the reserpine group.It also improved the latency in the swim test.Eplarestat significantly reduced lipid peroxidation and NO concentration in different brain tissues and increased the activity of antioxidative enzymes,glutathione,catalase,and superoxide dismutase.Furthermore,Epalrestat reduced neuroinflammation by reducing the number of infiltrating immune cells.Conclusion:Eplarestat improves muscular dysfunction in PD by reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.Md.Mahbubur Rahman Rupali Rani Chakraborti Md.Abdullah Potol Ariful Haque Abir Ozayra Sharmin Mahabub Alam Md.Fazlur Rahman Khan Rownock Afrin Humayra Jannat Rasiqh Wadud Zaki Farhad Habib 2020Animal Models and Experimental Medicine2020,3,1:3
3Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factors Shape RNA Viruses Resistance in Plants显示文摘Viruses are representative of a global threat to agricultural production. Genetic resistance is the preferred strategy for the control of viral infection and against loss of crop yield. Viral protein synthesis requires host cellular factors for translating their viral RNAs, and for regulating their replication and cell to cell systemic movement. Therefore, the viruses are dependent on cellular translation factors. Mutations in the gene encoding eIF4E and eIF4G or their isoforms, eIFiso4 E, eIFiso4 G and eIF2Bβ have been mapped as a source of plant potyvirus while other genus of plant virus recessive resistance genes in many species are originated from these loci. Some of other plant translation factors, such as eIF3,eIF4 A-like helicases, eEF1A and eEF1B, which are required in interacting with viral RNAs and regulating various aspects of the infection cycle,have also been identified. Here, we summarized the mechanisms utilized by RNA viruses of eukaryotic plants and the essential roles of e IFs in virus infection. Moreover, we discussed the potential of e IFs as a target gene in the development of genetic resistance to viruses for crop improvement. 5The economic contribution of fish and fish trade in Bangladesh显示文摘Bangladesh possesses a large wetland area comprising diversified fisheries resources.Fish and fisheries are an integral part of Bangladesh and have earned its importance due to immense export and revenue potential.The objective of this study was to investigate the trend of fish production,export and import of Bangladesh during the last two decades.Several reviews of the literature were done,numerical data was obtained from the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock(MoFL),Department of Fisheries(DOF),Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics(BBS).The results showed that fish production has increased in Bangladesh during the last two decades,starting from 17.81 lakh metric tons in 2000–01 and reaching up to 41.34 lakh metric tons in 2016–17.Due to the gradual decline in capture fishery,a significant percentage of total production comes from aquaculture.Hilsha(Tenualosa ilisha)is the largest single-species fishery in Bangladesh which makes the highest contribution to the country's total fish production.Exports of the fish commodity in terms of quantity and value has declined in recent years due to food quality and safety standards.This study has highlighted the contribution of fisheries production in Bangladesh and trade to the country's economy.By paying more attention to the fisheries sector,Bangladesh can boost up its economy.MdMostafa Shamsuzzaman Mohammad Mojibul Hoque Mozumder Sabrina Jannat Mitu Abu Faisal Ahamad Md.Sumon Bhyuian 2020Aquaculture and Fisheries2020,5,4:1

15Mud crab (Scylla serrata Forsskal 1775) value chain analysis in the Khulna region of Bangladesh显示文摘A value chain analysis is a detailed description of all the activities and services needed to turn a raw product into a marketable good for delivery to final consumers.The mud crab business is considered by most marketing operators to be a profitable and viable business due to the high demand in the international market.Despite the importance of mud crab fishery,there is no structured marketing facilities in Bangladesh.This research aim to analyze the socioeconomic condition of actors,the profitability of farming,mapping the institutional and non-institutional barriers,and provide a better understanding of the possibility of technological interventions in the value chain.Qualitative and quantitative data were collected through participatory rural appraisal tools that include 200 individual interviews,16 focus group discussions,and 24 key informant interviews conducted in south-west Bangladesh from July to December of 2019.The mud crab value chain analysis revealed that the chain started with crab collection(cultivated and wild harvest),before sale to local vendors,and ended with exporters through several intermediaries.Results noted that most(±95%)exportable crab came from natural sources,with rest(±5%)from aquaculture sector.The average price(USD/kg)ranged from$10.59��14.12 and$12.94��19.42 for male crabs(grade:XXL),followed by$10.00��11.77 and$11.77��17.06 for female(grade:FF1)in domestic and international markets,respectively.Despite the high profitability of these sectors,the livelihood of these stakeholders has remained relatively hard.Multi-pronged approaches,like a nursery or increasing farming and backyard seed production,and possible value addition at the farm level may help farmers.Md.Sumon Bhuiyan Md.Mostafa Shamsuzzaman Mohammad Mosarof Hossain Sabrina Jannat Mitu Mohammad Mojibul Hoque Mozumder 2021Aquaculture and Fisheries2021,6,3:0

17Brain Tumor Auto-Segmentation on Multimodal Imaging Modalities Using Deep Neural Network显示文摘Due to the difficulties of brain tumor segmentation, this paper proposes a strategy for extracting brain tumors from three-dimensional MagneticResonance Image (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) scans utilizing3D U-Net Design and ResNet50, taken after by conventional classificationstrategies. In this inquire, the ResNet50 picked up accuracy with 98.96%, andthe 3D U-Net scored 97.99% among the different methods of deep learning.It is to be mentioned that traditional Convolutional Neural Network (CNN)gives 97.90% accuracy on top of the 3D MRI. In expansion, the imagefusion approach combines the multimodal images and makes a fused image toextricate more highlights from the medical images. Other than that, we haveidentified the loss function by utilizing several dice measurements approachand received Dice Result on top of a specific test case. The average mean scoreof dice coefficient and soft dice loss for three test cases was 0.0980. At thesame time, for two test cases, the sensitivity and specification were recordedto be 0.0211 and 0.5867 using patch level predictions. On the other hand,a software integration pipeline was integrated to deploy the concentratedmodel into the webserver for accessing it from the software system using theRepresentational state transfer (REST) API. Eventually, the suggested modelswere validated through the Area Under the Curve–Receiver CharacteristicOperator (AUC–ROC) curve and Confusion Matrix and compared with theexisting research articles to understand the underlying problem. ThroughComparative Analysis, we have extracted meaningful insights regarding braintumour segmentation and figured out potential gaps. 18Anti-Alzheimer's disease potential of coumarins from Angelica decursiva and Artemisia capillaris and structure-activity analysis显示文摘Objective: To use structure-activity analysis to study the anti-Alzheimer's disease(anti-AD) activity of natural coumarins isolated from Angelica decursiva and Artemisia capillaries, along with one purchased coumarin(daphnetin). Methods: Umbelliferone, umbelliferone 6-carboxylic acid, scopoletin, isoscopoletin, 7-methoxy coumarin, scoparone, scopolin, and esculetin have been previously isolated; however 2'-isopropyl psoralene was isolated from Angelica decursiva for the first time to evaluate their inhibitory effects against acetylcholinesterase(ACh E), butyrylcholinesterase(BCh E), and β-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme 1(BACE1) enzyme activity. We scrutinized the potentials of coumarins as cholinesterase and BACE1 inhibitors via enzyme kinetics and molecular docking simulation. Results: Among the test compounds, umbelliferone 6-carboxylic acid, esculetin and daphnetin exhibited potent inhibitory activity against ACh E, BCh E and BACE1. Both esculetin and daphnetin have a catechol group and exhibit significant anti-AD activity against ACh E and BCh E. In contrast, presence of a sugar moiety and methoxylation markedly reduced the anti-AD activity of the coumarins investigated in this study. With respect to BACE1 inhibition, umbelliferone 6-carboxylic acid, esculetin and daphnetin contained carboxyl or catechol groups, which significantly contributed to their antiAD activities. To further investigate these results, we generated a 3D structure of BACE1 using Autodock 4.2 and simulated binding of umbelliferone 6-carboxylic acid, esculetin and daphnetin. Docking simulations showed that different residues of BACE1 interacted with hydroxyl and carboxylic groups, and the binding energies of umbelliferone 6-carboxylic acid, esculetin and daphnetin were negative(-4.58,-6.25 and-6.37 kcal/mol respectively). 20Finding the real COVID-19 case-fatality rates for SAARC countries显示文摘The crude case fatality rate(CFR),because of the calculation method,is the most accurate when the pandemic is over since there is a possibility of the delay between disease onset and outcomes.Adjusted crude CFR measures can better explain the pandemic situation by improving the CFR estimation.However,no study has thoroughly investigated the COVID-19 adjusted CFR of the South Asian Association For Regional Cooperation(SAARC)countries.This study estimated both survival interval and underreporting adjusted CFR of COVID-19 for these countries.Moreover,we assessed the crude CFR between genders and across age groups and observed the CFR changes due to the imposition of fees on COVID-19 tests in Bangladesh.Using the daily records up to October 9,we implemented a statistical method to remove the delay between disease onset and outcome bias,and due to asymptomatic or mild symptomatic cases,reporting rates lower than 50%(95%CI:10%–50%)bias in crude CFR.We found that Afghanistan had the highest CFR,followed by Pakistan,India,Bangladesh,Nepal,Maldives,and Sri Lanka.Our estimated crude CFR varied from 3.708%to 0.290%,survival interval adjusted CFR varied from 3.767%to 0.296%and further underreporting adjusted CFR varied from 1.096%to 0.083%.Furthermore,the crude CFRs for men were significantly higher than that of women in Afghanistan(4.034%vs.2.992%)and Bangladesh(1.739%vs.1.337%)whereas the opposite was observed in Maldives(0.284%vs.0.390%),Nepal(0.006%vs.0.007%),and Pakistan(2.057%vs.2.080%).Besides,older age groups had higher risks of death.Moreover,crude CFR increased from 1.261%to 1.572%after imposing the COVID-19 test fees in Bangladesh.Therefore,the authorities of countries with higher CFR should be looking for strategic counsel from the countries with lower CFR to equip themselves with the necessary knowledge to combat the pandemic.Moreover,caution is needed to report the CFR.Md Rafil Tazir Shah Tanvir Ahammed Aniqua Anjum Anisa Ahmed Chowdhury Afroza Jannat Suchana 2021Biosafety and Health2021,3,3:0
