Sitagliptin, sitagliptin and metformin,or sitagliptin and amitriptyline attenuate streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced diabetic neuropathy in rats显示文摘Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes.Symptoms of the disease include nerve palsy, mononeuropathy, mononeuropathy multiplex, diabetic amyotrophy, painful polyneuropathy, autonomic neuropathy, and thoracoabdominal neuropathy. In this study, type 2 diabetes in rats was induced with nicotinamidestreptozotocin.Drug treatment was initiated on the d 15,with the combination regimen of metformin, pioglitazone and glimipiride or metformin and sitagliptin or sitagliptin, amitriptyline and sitagliptin and led to significantly improved glycemic control, increased grip strength and paw jumping response on d 21,28 and 35(P < 0.001).Significant increases in blood protein levels and decreases in urinary protein levels were observed in the animals treated with the different regimens on d 21,28 and 35(P < 0.001).Combined treatment of streptozotocin and nicotinamide caused marked degeneration of nerve cells, while administration of metformin and sitagliptin showed tissue regeneration and no body weight gain.In conclusion, treatment with sitagliptin and sitagliptin combined with metformin or amitriptyline results in no body weight gain, but causes an increase in grip strength and pain sensitivity, exhibits neural protection, and reverses the alteration of biochemical parameters in rats with streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetes. | Ashish Kumar Sharma Akash Sharma Rita Kumari Kunal Kishore Divya Sharma Bharthu Parthsarthi Srinivasan Ashok Sharma Santosh Kumar Singh Samir Gaur Vijay Singh Jatav Prashant Sharma Varnika Srivastava Sneha Joshi Megha Joshi Prashant Kumar Dhakad Davender Singh Kanawat Akanksha Mishra Anil Sharma Dharmendra Singh Ravinder Pal Singh Himmat Singh Chawda Rambir Singh Sachin Kumar Raikwar Muneem Kumar Kurmi Pankaj Khatri Ashutosh Agarwal Arshee Munajjam | 2012 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,3: | 2
Cardioprotective activity of alcoholic extract of Tinospora cordifolia (Willd.) Miers in calcium chloride-induced cardiac arrhythmia in rats显示文摘The present study investigated the antiarrhythmic activity of alcoholic extract of Tinospora cordifolia (T.cordifolia) in CaCl 2 induced arrhythmia.CaCl 2 (25 mg/kg) was administered by intravenous infusion (iv) to produce arrhythmia in rats. The animals were then treated with T.cordifolia extract (150,250,and 450 mg/kg) and verapamil (5 mg/kg,iv).Lead II electrocardiogram was monitored.Plasma calcium, sodium and potassium levels were measured. In CaCl 2 induced arrhythmia, heart rate was decreased by 41.10%,T.cordifolia at 150,300,and 450 mg/kg decreased the heart rate by 26.30%,29.16%,and 38.29%,respectively,and verapamil reduced the heart rate by 9.70% compared to the normal group. The PQRST waves were normalized and atrial and ventricular fibrillation was controlled in rats treated with verapamil and T.cordifolia.CaCl 2 increased calcium and sodium levels and decreased potassium levels in blood.T.cordifolia dose-dependently decreased calcium and sodium levels and increased potassium levels.Hence,T.cordifolia can be used in antiarrhythmic clinical settings and beneficial in atrial and ventricular fibrillation and flutter and may be indicated in ventricular tachyarrhythmia. | Ashish Kumar Sharma Kunal Kishore Divya Sharma B.P Srinivasan Shyam Sunder Agarwal Ashok Sharma Santosh Kumar Singh Samir Gaur Vijay Singh Jatav | 2011 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2011,25,4: | 2
Involvement of adenosine and standardization of aqueous extract of garlic(Allium sativum Linn.)on cardioprotective and cardiodepressant properties in ischemic preconditioning and myocardial ischemia-reperfusion induced cardiac injury显示文摘The present study investigated the effect of garlic(Allium sativum Linn.)aqueous extracts on ischemic preconditioning and ischemia-reperfusion induced cardiac injury,as well as adenosine involvement in ischemic preconditioning and garlic extract induced cardioprotection.A model of ischemia-reperfusion injury was established using Langendorff apparatus.Aqueous extract of garlic dose was standardized(0.5%,0.4%,0.3%,0.2%,0.1%,0.07%,0.05%,0.03%,0.01%),and the 0.05% dose was found to be the most effective.Higher doses(more than 0.05%)were highly toxic, causing arrhythmia and cardiodepression, whereas the lower doses were ineffective.Garlic exaggerated the cardioprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning. The cardioprotective effect of ischemic preconditioning and garlic cardioprotection was significantly attenuated by theophylline(1,000 μmol/L)and 8-SPT(10 mg/kg,i.p.)and expressed by increased myocardial infarct size, increased LDH level, and reduced nitrite and adenosine levels. These findings suggest that adenosine is involved in the pharmacological and molecular mechanism of garlic induced cardioprotection and mediated by the modulation of nitric oxide. | Ashish Kumar Sharma Arshee Munajjam Bhawna Vaishnav Richa Sharma Ashok Sharma Kunal Kishore Akash Sharma Divya Sharma Rita Kumari Ashish Tiwari Santosh Kumar Singh Samir Gaur Vijay Singh Jatav Barthu Parthi Srinivasan Shyam Sunder Agarwal | 2012 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2012,26,1: | 1

Anisotropic turbulence of kinetic Alfvén waves and heating in solar corona显示文摘Understanding solar coronal heating has been one of the unresolved problems in solar physics in spite of the many theories that have been developed to explain it. Past observational studies suggested that kinetic Alfven waves(KAWs) may be responsible for solar coronal heating by accelerating the charged particles in solar plasma. In this paper, we investigated the transient dynamics of KAWs with modified background density due to ponderomotive force and Joule heating. A numerical simulation based on pseudospectral method was applied to study the evolution of KAW magnetic coherent structures and generation of magnetic turbulence. Using different initial conditions in simulations, the dependence of KAW dynamics on the nature of inhomogeneous solar plasma was thoroughly investigated. The saturated magnetic power spectra follow Kolmogorov scaling of k^-5/3 in the inertial range, then followed by steep anisotropic scaling in the dissipation range. The KAW has anisotropy of k||∝ k^0.53⊥, k|| ∝ k^0.50⊥, k||∝ k^0.83⊥ and k||∝ k^0.30⊥ depending on the kind of initial conditions of inhomogeneity. The power spectra of magnetic field fluctuations showing the spectral anisotropy in wavenumber space indicate that the nonlinear interactions may be redistributing the energy anisotropically among higher modes of the wavenumber. Therefore, anisotropic turbulence can be considered as one of the candidates responsible for the particle energization and heating of the solar plasmas. | Hemam Dinesh Singh Bheem Singh Jatav | 2019 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2019,19,12: | 0
Coherent structures and spectral shapes of kinetic Alfvén wave turbulence in solar wind at 1 AU显示文摘This paper presents the generation of kinetic Alfv én wave(KAW) coherent structures of magnetic filaments applicable to solar wind at 1 AU,when the background plasma density is modified by parallel ponderomotive force and Joule heating. The inhomogeneity in the magnetic field, which was included as a perturbation in the transverse direction of the magnetic field, takes energy from the main pump KAWs and generates the filamentary structures. When the intensity is high enough, the filaments are broken down and the energy initially confined to low wavenumbers is redistributed to higher wavenumbers, leading to cascades of energy at small scales less than the ion acoustic gyroradius or comparable to electron gyroradius. The magnetic field spectral profile is generated from the numerical simulation results, and its dependence on different directions of the wavevector and initial conditions of the simulation representing the transverse magnetic field inhomogeneity is studied. The relevance of these results with other spacecraft observations and measurements is also pointed out. | Hemam Dinesh Singh Bheem Singh Jatav | 2019 | Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics2019,19,7: | 0
Measuring the agricultural sustainability of India:An application of Pressure-State-Response(PSR)model显示文摘Analyzing agricultural sustainability is essential for designing and assessing rural development initiatives. However, accurately measuring agricultural sustainability is complicated since it involves so many different factors. This study provides a new suite of quantitative indicators for assessing agricultural sustainability at regional and district levels, involving environmental sustainability, social security, and economic security.Combining the PressureState-Response(PSR)model and indicator approach, this study creates a composite agricultural sustainability index for the 14 mainstream agro-climatic regions of India. The results of this study show that the Trans-Gengatic Plain Region(TGPR)ranks first in agricultural sustainability among India's 14 mainstream agro-climatic regions, while the Eastern Himalayan Region(EHR)ranks last.Higher livestock ownership, cropping intensity, per capita income, irrigation intensity, share of institutional credit, food grain productivity, crop diversification, awareness of minimum support price, knowledge sharing with fellow farmers, and young and working population,as well as better transportation facilities and membership of agricultural credit societies are influencing indicators responsible for higher agricultural sustainability in TGPR compared with EHR.Although, the scores of environmental sustainability indicators of EHR are quite good, its scores of social and economic security indicators are fairly low, putting it at the bottom of the rank of agricultural sustainability index among the 14 mainstream agroclimatic regions in India. This demonstrates the need of understanding agricultural sustainability in relation to social and economic dimensions. In a nation as diverse and complicated as India,it is the social structure that determines the health of the economy and environment.Last but not least, the sustainability assessment methodology may be used in a variety of India's agro-climatic regions. | Surendra Singh JATAV Kalu NAIK | 2023 | Regional Sustainability2023,4,3: | 0
