2Spectrum of biliary complications following live donor liver transplantation显示文摘Liver transplantation is the optimal treatment for many patients with advanced liver disease, including decompensated cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma and acute liver failure. Organ shortage is the maindeterminant of death on the waiting list and hence living donor liver transplantation(LDLT) assumes importance. Biliary complications are the most common post operative morbidity after LDLT and occur due to anatomical and technical reasons. They include biliary leaks, strictures and cast formation and occur in the recipient as well as the donor. 3Inflammatory response related scoring systems in assessing the prognosis of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma:a systematic review显示文摘BACKGROUND: Various scoring systems based on assessment of the systemic inflammatory response help assessing the prognosis of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma.In the present systematic review we evaluated the validity of four pre-intervention scoring systems: Glasgow prognostic score(GPS) and its modified version(mGPS), platelet lymphocyte ratio(PLR), neutrophil lymphocyte ratio(NLR), and prognostic nutrition index(PNI).DATA SOURCES: MOOSE guidelines were followed and EMBASE and MEDLINE databases were searched for all published studies until September 2013 using comprehensive text word and MeSH terms. All identified studies were analyzed, and relevant studies were included in the systematic review.RESULTS: Six studies were identified for GPS/mGPS with3 reporting statistical significance for GPS/mGPS on both univariate analysis(UVA) and multivariate analysis(MVA).Two studies suggested prognostic significance on UVA but not MVA, and in the final study UVA failed to show significance.Eleven studies evaluated the prognostic value of NLR. Six of them reported prognostic significance for NLR on UVA that persisted at MVA in 4 studies, and in the remaining 2 studies NLR was the only significant factor on UVA. In the remaining5 studies, all in patients undergoing resection, there was no significance on UVA. Seven studies evaluated PLR, with only one study demonstrated its prognostic significance on both UVAand MVA, the rest did not show the significance on UVA. Of the two studies identified for PNI, one demonstrated a statistically significant difference in survival on both UVA and MVA, and the other reported no significance for PNI on UVA.CONCLUSIONS: Both GPS/mGPS and NLR may be useful but further better-designed studies are required to confirm their value. PLR might be little useful, and there are at present inadequate data to assess the prognostic value of PNI. 4负载型铜钴氧化物协同催化H_2O_2/HCO_3~–降解苯酚(英文)显示文摘近年来,环境污染特别是水的严重污染使其治理成为一个极具挑战性的课题.各种污染物复杂的化学成分和催化剂在处理过程中的浸出、寿命及成本等问题是导致众多氧化催化剂难以实际应用的主要原因.相对而言,H_2O_2是一种活性氧含量高、清洁并可在温和条件下使用的氧化剂,在各种高级氧化技术中受到广泛关注.而碳酸氢盐是一种弱碱性物质,在自然界及水体系中广泛存在,且无明显毒害.它可活化H_2O_2,加快其氧化各种有机物,并在废水处理领域开始受到关注.该体系的明显优势在于处理体系始终处于微碱性环境,可以有效避免金属氧化物催化剂在处理过程中由于体系酸化而带来的催化剂流失,从而延长催化剂寿命,降低催化剂成本.本文采用浸渍法制备了一种双金属铜、钴氧化物催化剂及相关的对照催化剂体系,利用碳酸氢盐活化H2O2用于降解苯酚模拟废水.通过各种空白实验发现,负载于γ-Al_2O_3表面的钴、铜氧化物催化剂CuO-Co_3O_4@γ-Al_2O_3具有最好的催化降解活性,而CuO@γ-Al_2O_3,Co_3O_4@γ-Al_2O_3,Cu O-Co_3O_4及CuO和Co_3O_4的物理混合物均表现出较差的催化性能.由此可见,在CuO-Co_3O_4@γ-Al_2O_3催化剂中,铜、钴离子在苯酚降解过程中存在协同效应,这可能与催化剂中钴、铜金属离子的相互作用相关.X射线衍射和X射线光电子能谱结果表明,反应前后CuO-Co_3O_4@γ-Al_2O_3催化剂中金属的氧化状态并未发生改变,在使用过程中钴离子的浸出率可以忽略,铜离子的浸岀率也仅有0.6 ppm.荧光分析实验和自由基捕获实验表明,只有添加·O_2^-和·OH的捕获剂能明显抑制降解反应,因而推测该反应体系对有机物的降解是一个自由基氧化过程,起关键作用的可能是·O_2^-和·OH.李一冰 Ali Jawad Aimal Khan 卢小艳 陈朱琦 刘卫东 尹国川 2016Chinese Journal of Catalysis2016,37,6:7
5Severe liver injury due to herbal and dietary supplements and the role of liver transplantation显示文摘Herbal and dietary supplements(HDS)are increasingly used worldwide for numerous,mainly unproven health benefits.The HDS industry is poorly regulated compared to prescription medicines and most products are easily obtainable.Drug induced liver injury(DILI)is a well-recognized entity associated with prescription and over the counter medications and many reports have emerged of potential HDS-related DILI.There is considerable geographic variability in the risk and severity of DILI associated with HDS but the presentation of severe liver injury is similar with a hepatocellular pattern accompanied by jaundice.This type of injury can lead to acute liver failure and the need for liver transplantation.Patients will often fail to mention their use of HDS,considering it natural and therefore harmless.Hence physicians should understand that these products can be associated with DILI and explicitly ask about HDS use in any patient with otherwise unexplained acute liver injury.Priya Grewal Jawad Ahmad 2019World Journal of Gastroenterology2019,25,46:6
6籽瓜、黏籽和普通西瓜的果实代谢组比较显示文摘【目的】西瓜是一种广受欢迎的夏季水果,籽用西瓜(籽瓜)、黏籽西瓜和普通西瓜是3种重要的栽培类型,但对其果实中代谢物全面鉴定的研究很少,比较这3种西瓜果实的代谢组学差异,为明确驯化改良对不同类型西瓜代谢组的影响提供新见解。【方法】试验以5份籽用西瓜、5份黏籽西瓜和6份普通西瓜为材料,对成熟期果肉进行广泛靶向代谢组学检测,采用SIMCA-P、MetaboAnalyst 5.0、Origin等软件对代谢组数据进行分析。【结果】LC-MS分析共检测到323种代谢物,包括51种氨基酸及其衍生物、21种核苷酸及其衍生物、14种碳水化合物、32种有机酸、52种脂质、36种类黄酮、32种羟基肉桂酰衍生物等。PCA和聚类分析显示,籽用西瓜和黏籽西瓜的代谢组学轮廓差异较小,籽用西瓜的代谢组轮廓介于黏籽西瓜和普通西瓜之间。对分类贡献率较大的代谢物是蔗糖、柠檬酸、L-谷氨酸、L-苏氨酸、葫芦素类、香草酸糖苷异构体、脂质类等。聚类热图分析显示黏籽西瓜中特有的代谢物是葫芦素及其衍生物等,籽用西瓜中的绿原酸、LysoPE脂质类等化合物含量较高,普通西瓜中的糖类、精氨酸、阿魏酸及C18-2和C18-3不饱和脂肪酸等物质含量较高。比较分析共鉴定出156种差异代谢物,籽用西瓜与黏籽西瓜的主要差异代谢物有对香豆醛、阿魏酸、肉桂酸、蔗糖、葫芦素D O-葡萄糖苷、葫芦素E异构体、牡荆素、松柏醇等。籽用西瓜与普通西瓜的主要差异代谢物有脂质类、类黄酮类、有机酸类和糖类等。随着作物进化的程度增加,营养类代谢物质含量增加,抗性相关的代谢物质含量减少。【结论】籽用西瓜和黏籽西瓜的果实代谢组差异比籽用西瓜和普通西瓜的差异小,籽用西瓜的代谢轮廓介于黏籽西瓜和普通西瓜之间。除了表型和基因组差异外,代谢组差异也可以作为区分品种的重要依据。本研究首次在代谢组学水平比较了3种类型西瓜果实的差异,对深入理解西瓜种质资源,培育保健型西瓜新品种有重要的指导意义。袁平丽 何楠 赵胜杰 路绪强 朱红菊 刁卫楠 龚成胜 MUHAMMAD Jawad Umer 刘文革 2021中国农业科学2021,54,19:6

8Identification of key gene networks controlling organic acid and sugar metabolism during watermelon fruit development by integrating metabolic phenotypes and gene expression profiles显示文摘The organoleptic qualities of watermelon fruit are defined by the sugar and organic acid contents,which undergo considerable variations during development and maturation.The molecular mechanisms underlying these variations remain unclear.In this study,we used transcriptome profiles to investigate the coexpression patterns of gene networks associated with sugar and organic acid metabolism.We identified 3 gene networks/modules containing 2443 genes highly correlated with sugars and organic acids.Within these modules,based on intramodular significance and Reverse Transcription Quantitative polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR),we identified 7 genes involved in the metabolism of sugars and organic acids.Among these genes,Cla97C01G000640,Cla97C05G087120 and Cla97C01G018840(r^(2)=0.83 with glucose content)were identified as sugar transporters(SWEET,EDR6 and STP)and Cla97C03G064990(r^(2)=0.92 with sucrose content)was identified as a sucrose synthase from information available for other crops.Similarly,Cla97C07G128420,Cla97C03G068240 and Cla97C01G008870,having strong correlations with malic(r^(2)=0.75)and citric acid(r^(2)=0.85),were annotated as malate and citrate transporters(ALMT7,CS,and ICDH).The expression profiles of these 7 genes in diverse watermelon genotypes revealed consistent patterns of expression variation in various types of watermelon.These findings add significantly to our existing knowledge of sugar and organic acid metabolism in watermelon.Muhammad Jawad Umer Luqman Bin Safdar Haileslassie Gebremeskel Shengjie Zhao Pingli Yuan Hongju Zhu M.O.Kaseb Muhammad Anees Xuqiang Lu Nan He Chengsheng Gong Wenge Liu 2020Horticulture Research2020,7,1:4
9Nitrogen(N) metabolism related enzyme activities,cell uitrastructure and nutrient contents as affected by N level and barley genotype显示文摘Development of the new crop cultivars with high yield under low nitrogen(N) input is a fundamental approach to enhance agricultural sustainability,which is dependent on the exploitation of the elite germplasm.In the present study,four barley genotypes(two Tibetan wild and two cultivated),differing in N use efficiency(NUE),were characterized for their physiological and biochemical responses to different N levels.Higher N levels significantly increased the contents of other essential nutrients(P,K,Ca,Fe,Cu and Mn),and the increase was more obvious for the N-efficient genotypes(ZD9 and XZ149).The observation of ultrastructure showed that chloroplast structure was severely damaged under low nitrogen,and the two high N efficient genotypes were relatively less affected.The activities of the five N metabolism related enzymes,i.e.,nitrate reductase(NR),glutamine synthetase(GS),nitrite reductase(NiR),glutamate synthase(GOGAT) and glutamate dehydrogenase(GDH) all showed the substantial increase with the increased N level in the culture medium.However the increased extent differed among the four genotypes,with the two N efficient genotypes showing more increase in comparison with the other two genotypes with relative N inefficiency(HXRL and XZ56).The current findings showed that a huge difference exists in low N tolerance among barley genotypes,and improvement of some physiological traits(such as enzymes) could be helpful for increasing N utilization efficiency.Jawad Munawar Shah Syed Asad Hussain Bukhari ZENG Jian-bin QUAN Xiao-yan Essa Ali Noor Muhammad ZHANG Guo-ping 2017Journal of Integrative Agriculture2017,16,1:4
10Nonlinear optical and optical limiting properties of new structures of organic nonlinear optical materials for photonic applications显示文摘The nonlinear optical (NLO) and optical limiting (OL) properties of three new structures of organic NLO guest-host Poly(N-vinylcarbozole)/disperse orange 3 (PVK/DO3), PVK/disperse orange 13 (PVK/DO13), and PVK/disperse orange 25 (PVK/DO25) as a solution at different concentrations and as a thin-film sample are studied using continuous wave z-scan system at 532 nm. The open-aperture z-scan data of the NLO materials in the solution and thin-film samples displayed two-photon and saturable absorptions, respectively. The PVK/DO13 exhibites the largest and best values of the nonlinearities, such as n2 , β, χ(3) , compared with those of PVK/DO3 and PVK/DO25. 12Quantitative Comparison of Calcium Hydroxide Removal by EndoActivator, Ultrasonic and ProTaper File Agitation Techniques: An in vitro Study显示文摘Calcium hydroxide (CH) dressing residues can compromise endodontic sealing. This study aimed to evaluate the amount of remaining CH in root canals after mechanical removal by four groups of irrigation techniques including needle irrigation only, ProTaper file, EndoActivator, and ultrasonic file. Fifteen extracted single-rooted teeth were collected and used for all four groups. The samples were firstly prepared by ProTaper rotary instruments, and then sectioned longitudinally through the long axis of the root canals, followed by final reassembling by wires. CH was kept in the canals for 7 days setting. The removal procedure began with 5 mL of 2.5% sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) followed by 1 mL of 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid and a final irrigation with 5 mL of 2.5% NaOCl solution for all groups. No additional agitation of the irrigant was performed in group 1, while agitation for 20 s between irrigants was done with F2 ProTaper rotary file in group 2, EndoActivator with tip size 25/.04 in group 3 and by an ultrasonic file 25/.02 in group 4. The total activation time was 60 s. The roots were then disassembled and captured by digital camera. The ratio of CH coated surface area to the surface area of the whole canal as well as each third of the canal was calculated. The data were statistically analyzed by one-way ANOVA using post hoc Tukey test. Results showed that none of the four techniques could remove all CH. No significant difference was found between EndoActivator and ultrasonic techniques. However, they both removed significantly more CH than ProTaper and needle irrigation (P=0.0001). 13碳酸氢盐活化的过氧化氢:一种有机废水处理的新技术(英文)显示文摘水污染问题已成为影响我国可持续发展的关键问题之一,为有效提高现有污水处理的效率及其回收利用,各种催化氧化技术受到了广泛的关注.目前发展的各类高级氧化技术在实际的应用过程中明显受到了氧化剂的利用率、催化剂的浸出、寿命及成本等问题的严重限制.因此基于新的理念、发展新的催化氧化技术仍然受到广泛的关注.最近几年,利用碳酸氢盐活化过氧化氢,应用于有机废水的降解逐渐受到环境催化领域的关注.碳酸氢盐本身是一种低毒性、广泛存在于环境及生物体系的化学物质,通过它活化过氧化氢产生过碳酸氢盐氧化剂,该氧化剂能够直接氧化有机物.同时,在各种过渡金属催化剂的存在下,通过该过碳酸氢盐可以形成氧化能力更强的各种自由基(如羟基自由基等)及高价态的过渡金属离子参与有机废水的降解.虽然传统认为碳酸盐及碳酸氢盐对高级氧化法降解有机废水不利,原因是认为它们能捕捉羟基自由基,形成氧化能力更低的碳酸根自由基.现有的研究已充分表明,较低浓度的碳酸氢盐能够加快有机废水的氧化降解,而且通常比单独使用过氧化氢效率更高,这些新的发现已明显突破了传统意义上对碳酸氢盐作用的理解.更为重要的是,在微量碳酸氢盐的存在下,其产生的微碱性环境极大地消除了负载型氧化物催化剂在废水降解过程中的金属离子流失、从而极大地延长了催化剂的寿命.该缺点是各种基于过渡金属氧化物催化剂的高级氧化技术难以广泛推广的关键性挑战,原因是随着氧化降解的进行,废水体系由于有机酸的生成而逐渐酸化,进而引发氧化物催化剂的酸溶而流失.在这点上,碳酸氢盐活化过氧化氢系统由于其天然的微碱性环境体现出了其明显的优势.本文即是在本课题组工作基础上,对该领域内国内外研究进展加以总结,以期获得国内外同行的进一步关注.综述的主要内容包括:(1)碳酸氢氧活化过氧化氢的相关知识介绍,(2)均相碳酸氢氧活化过氧化氢降解有机废水的研究进展,(3)基于金属氧化物催化剂的碳酸氢氧活化过氧化氢降解有机废水的研究进展,和(4)碳酸氢盐在其他高级氧化技术中的应用.虽然基于碳酸氢氧活化过氧化氢降解有机废水的研究还处于早期探索阶段,还有很多基础科学问题如降解机理等值得进一步探索,期望通过该综述的介绍能够让同行对碳酸氢氧活化过氧化氢降解有机废水有一个比较全面的了解,进而推动该研究方向的发展,为有机废水的催化处理提供新的机会.Ali Jawad 陈朱琦 尹国川 2016Chinese Journal of Catalysis2016,37,6:3
14Design of a hybrid magnetomotive force electromechanical valve actuator显示文摘We propose a novel axis-symmetric modified hybrid permanent magnet(PM)/electromagnet(EM) magnetomotive force actuator for a variable valve timing camless engine. The design provides a large magnetic force with low energy consumption, low coil inductance, PM demagnetization isolation, and improved transient response. Simulation and experimental results confirm forces of about 200 N(in the presence of coil current) at the equilibrium position and 500 N(in the absence of coil current) at the armature seat. We compared our proposed design with a double solenoid valve actuator(DSVA). 16Regime specific spillover across cryptocurrencies and the role of COVID‑19显示文摘The aim of this study is to examine the daily return spillover among 18 cryptocurrencies under low and high volatility regimes,while considering three pricing factors and the effect of the COVID-19 outbreak.To do so,we apply a Markov regime-switching(MS)vector autoregressive with exogenous variables(VARX)model to a daily dataset from 25-July-2016 to 1-April-2020.The results indicate various patterns of spillover in high and low volatility regimes,especially during the COVID-19 outbreak.The total spillover index varies with time and abruptly intensifies following the outbreak of COVID-19,especially in the high volatility regime.Notably,the network analysis reveals further evidence of much higher spillovers in the high volatility regime during the COVID-19 outbreak,which is consistent with the notion of contagion during stress periods.Syed Jawad Hussain Shahzad Elie Bouri Sang Hoon Kang Tareq Saeed 2021Financial Innovation2021,7,1:3

20Impact of the COVID‑19 outbreak on the US equity sectors:Evidence from quantile return spillovers显示文摘The aim of this study is to examine the extreme return spillovers among the US stock market sectors in the light of the COVID-19 outbreak.To this end,we extend the now-traditional Diebold-Yilmaz spillover index to the quantiles domain by building networks of generalized forecast error variance decomposition of a quantile vector autoregressive model specifically for extreme returns.Notably,we control for common movements by using the overall stock market index as a common factor for all sectors and uncover the effect of the COVID-19 outbreak on the dynamics of the network.The results show that the network structure and spillovers differ considerably with respect to the market state.During stable times,the network shows a nice sectoral clustering structure which,however,changes dramatically for both adverse and beneficial market conditions constituting a highly connected network structure.The pandemic period itself shows an interesting restructuring of the network as the dominant clusters become more tightly connected while the rest of the network remains well separated.The sectoral topology thus has not collapsed into a unified market during the pandemic.Syed Jawad Hussain Shahzad Elie Bouri Ladislav Kristoufek Tareq Saeed 2021Financial Innovation2021,7,1:2
