| 1 | Heavy metals in rice and garden vegetables and their potential health risks to inhabitants in the vicinity of an industrial zone in Jiangsu, China显示文摘Contamination of soil and agricultural products by heavy metals resulting from rapid industrial development has caused major concern. In this study, we investigated heavy metal (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cr, Hg and Cd) concentrations in rice and garden vegetables, as well as in cultivated soils, in a rural-industrial developed region in southern Jiangsu, China, and estimated the potential health risks of metals to the inhabitants via consumption of locally produced rice and garden vegetables. A questionnaire-based survey on dietary consumption rates of foodstuffs showed that rice and vegetables accounted for 64% of total foodstuffs consumed, and over 60% of rice and vegetables were grown in the local region. Average concentrations of Cr, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg and Pb were 0.75, 2.64, 12.00, 0.014, 0.006 and 0.054 mg/kg dw (dry weight) in rice and were 0.67, 1.18, 4.34, 0.011, 0.002 and 0.058 mg/kg fw (fresh weight) in garden vegetables, respectively. These values were all below the maximum allowable concentration in food in China except for Cr in vegetables. Leafy vegetables had higher metal concentrations than solanaceae vegetables. Average daily intake of Cr, Cu, Zn, Cd, Hg and Pb through the consumption of rice and garden vegetables were 5.66, 16.90, 74.21, 0.10, 0.04 and 0.43 μg/(kg·day), respectively. Although Hazard Quotient values of individual metals were all lower than 1, when all six metal intakes via self-planted rice and garden vegetables were combined, the Hazard Index value was close to 1. | 2 | Spatial distribution pattern of Picea schrenkiana population in the Middle Tianshan Mountains and the relationship with topographic attributes显示文摘The spatial distribution of plant populations is an important feature of population structure and it determines the population's ecological preferences,biological characteristics and relationships with environmental factors.The point pattern analysis method was adopted to study the distribution pattern of Picea schrenkiana individuals of different size classes and the correlations between two size classes as well as the impact of topographical attributes on the population distribution.With increasing diameter at breast height,the plant density of the P.schrenkiana population showed a declining trend.Old trees showed a random distribution at a small spatial scale(0-12 m),whereas saplings,small trees and big trees all had an aggregated distribution at all scales.With the increase of tree age,the scales at which maximal aggregation occurred gradually increased and the aggregation strength decreased.At a small scale(0-16 m),all size classes showed a negative correlation and the larger the difference between tree size,the more significant the negative correlation.The number of medium,big and old trees had a significantly positive correlation with elevations,whereas the number of saplings and small trees was not significantly correlated with elevations.The numbers of saplings,small and medium trees showed a significant positive correlation with slope gradient,whereas the number of big trees was not significantly correlated,and the number of old trees was negatively correlated with gradient.With the exception of old trees,saplings,small,medium and big trees showed negative correlations with convexity index.The study provides a theoretical basis for the conservation,rehabilitation and sustainable management of forest ecosystems in the Tianshan Mountains. | YuTao ZHANG JiMei LI ShunLi CHANG Xiang LI JianJiang LU | 2012 | Journal of Arid Land2012,4,4: | 12 |
| 3 | Stress Corrosion Cracking of Nitrogen-containing Stainless Steel 316LN in High Temperature Water Environments显示文摘Stress corrosion cracking(SCC) of stainless steels and Ni-based alloys in high temperature water coolant is one of the key problems affecting the safe operation of nuclear power plants(NPPs).The nitrogen-added stainless steel is a kind of possible candidate materials for mitigating SCC since reducing the carbon content and adding nitrogen to offset the loss in strength caused by the decrease in carbon content can mitigate the problem of sensitization.However,the reports of SCC of nitrogen-added stainless steels in high temperature water are few available.The effects of applied potential and sensitization treatment on the SCC of a newly developed nitrogen-containing stainless steel(SS) 316LN in high temperature water doped with chloride at 250 ℃ were studied by using slow strain rate tests(SSRTs).The SSRT results are compared with our data previously published for 316 SS without nitrogen and 304NG SS with nitrogen,and the possible mechanism affecting the SCC behaviors of the studied steels is also discussed based on SSRT and microstucture analysis results.The susceptibility to cracking of 316LN SS normally increases with increasing potential.The susceptibility to SCC of 316LN SS was less than that of 316 SS and 304NG SS.Sensitization treatment at 700 ℃ for 30 h showed little effect on the SCC of 316LN SS and significant effect on the SCC of 316 SS.The predominant cracking mode for the 316LN SS in both annealed state and the state after the sensitization treatment was transgranular.The presented conditions of mitigating stress corrosion cracking are some useful information for the safe use of 316LN SS in NPPs. | YANG Wu LI Guangfu HUANG Chunbo ZHOU Jianjiang LU Zhanpeng | 2010 | Chinese Journal of Mechanical Engineering2010,23,6: | 9 |

| 10 | An Improved Algorithm for Optimizing MapReduce Based on Locality and Overlapping显示文摘MapReduce is currently the most popular programming model for big data processing, and Hadoop is a well-known MapReduce implementation platform. However, Hadoop jobs suffer from imbalanced workloads during the reduce phase and inefficiently utilize the available computing and network resources. In some cases, these problems lead to serious performance degradation in MapReduce jobs. To resolve these problems, in this paper,we propose two algorithms, the Locality-Based Balanced Schedule(LBBS) and Overlapping-Based Resource Utilization(OBRU), that optimize the Locality-Enhanced Load Balance(LELB) and the Map, Local reduce, Shuffle,and final Reduce(MLSR) phases. The LBBS collects partition information from input data during the map phase and generates balanced schedule plans for the reduce phase. OBRU is responsible for using computing and network resources efficiently by overlapping the local reduce, shuffle, and final reduce phases. Experimental results show that the LBBS and OBRU algorithms yield significant improvements in load balancing. | 11 | Frequency and Similarity-Aware Partitioning for Cloud Storage Based on Space-Time Utility Maximization Model显示文摘With the rise of various cloud services, the problem of redundant data is more prominent in the cloud storage systems. How to assign a set of documents to a distributed file system, which can not only reduce storage space, but also ensure the access efficiency as much as possible, is an urgent problem which needs to be solved.Space-efficiency mainly uses data de-duplication technologies, while access-efficiency requires gathering the files with high similarity on a server. Based on the study of other data de-duplication technologies, especially the Similarity-Aware Partitioning(SAP) algorithm, this paper proposes the Frequency and Similarity-Aware Partitioning(FSAP) algorithm for cloud storage. The FSAP algorithm is a more reasonable data partitioning algorithm than the SAP algorithm. Meanwhile, this paper proposes the Space-Time Utility Maximization Model(STUMM), which is useful in balancing the relationship between space-efficiency and access-efficiency. | 14 | Metamorphism and Zircon Geochronological Studies of Metagabbro Vein in the Yushugou Granulite-Peridotite Complex from South Tianshan,China显示文摘Yushugou granulite-peridotite complex,located at the east part of the northern margin of South Tianshan,may represent an ophiolitic slice subducted to 40–50 km depth with high-pressure granulite facies metamorphism.Although a lot of studies have been conducted on rocks in this belt,the rock association and tectonic background of the ophiolitic slice are still in dispute.A detailed study on petrology,phase equilibrium modeling and U-Pb zircon ages have been performed on the metagabbro vein in peridotite unit to constrain the tectonic evolution of the Yushugou granulite-peridotite complex.Three stages of mineral assemblage in the metagabbro were defined as stage I:Cpx^A+Opx^A+Pl^A,which represents the original minerals of the metagabbro vein;stage II:Cpx^B+Opx^B+Pl^B+Spl,which represents the mineral assemblage of granulite facies metamorphism with peak P-T conditions of 4.2–6.9 kbar and 940–1070℃;stage III is characterized by the existence of prehnite,thomsonite and amphibole in the matrix,indicating that the metagabbro vein may be influenced by fluids during retrograde metamorphism.Combined with the crosscut relationship,it can be deduced that the metagabbro vein,together with the peridotite in Yushugou granulite-peridotite complex has experienced similar high-temperature granulite facies metamorphism.The zircon chronological data shows that the protolith age of the metagabbro vein is 400.5±6.2 Ma,reflecting Devonian magmatism event and the granulite facies metamorphism occurred at^270 Ma which may be related to the post-collisional magmatism. | Lu Zhang Jianjiang Zhu Bin Xia Cong Zhang Lifei Zhang | 2019 | Journal of Earth Science2019,30,6: | 3 |

| 16 | Highly active multivalent multielement catalysts derived from hierarchical porous TiNb_(2)O_(7) nanospheres for the reversible hydrogen storage of MgH_(2)显示文摘Critical limitations in applying MgH_(2) as a hydrogen-storage medium include the high H_(2) desorption temperature and slow reaction kinetics.In this study,we synthesized hierarchical porous TiNb_(2)O_(7) spheres in micrometer scale built with 20-50 nm nanospheres,which showed stable activity to catalyze hydrogen storage in MgH_(2) as precursors.The addition of 7 wt.%TiNb_(2)O_(7) in MgH_(2) reduced the dehydrogenation onset temperature from 300 to 177℃.At 250℃,approximately 5.5 wt.%H_(2) was rapidly released in 10 min.Hydrogen uptake was detected even at room temperature under 50 bar hydrogen;4.5 wt.%H_(2) was absorbed in 3 min at 150℃,exhibiting a superior low-temperature hydrogenation performance.Moreover,nearly constant capacity was observed from the second cycle onward,demonstrating stable cyclability.During the ball milling and initial de/hydrogenation process,the high-valent Ti and Nb of TiNb_(2)O_(7) were reduced to the lower-valent species or even zero-valent metal,which in situ created multivalent multielement catalytic surroundings.A strong synergistic effect was obtained for hybrid oxides of Nb and Ti by density functional theory(DFT)calculations,which largely weakens the Mg-H bonding and results in a large reduction in kinetic barriers for hydrogen storage reactions of MgH_(2).Our findings may guide the further design and development of high-performance complex catalysts for the reversible hydrogen storage of hydrides. | Lingchao Zhang Ke Wang Yongfeng Liu Xin Zhang Jianjiang Hu Mingxia Gao Hongge Pan | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,1: | 2 |
| 17 | Crystal-KMC: Parallel Software for Lattice Dynamics Monte Carlo Simulation of Metal Materials显示文摘Kinetic Monte Carlo(KMC) is a widely used method for studying the evolution of materials at the microcosmic level. At present, while there are many simulation software programs based on this algorithm, most focus on the verification of a certain phenomenon and have no analog-scale requirement, so many are serial in nature. The dynamic Monte Carlo algorithm is implemented using a parallel framework called SPPARKS, but it does not support the Embedded Atom Method(EAM) potential, which is commonly used in the dynamic simulation of metal materials. Metal material — the preferred material for most containers and components — plays an important role in many fields, including construction engineering and transportation. In this paper, we propose and describe the development of a parallel software program called Crystal-KMC, which is specifically used to simulate the lattice dynamics of metallic materials. This software uses MPI to achieve a parallel multiprocessing mode, which avoid the limitations of serial software in the analog scale. Finally, we describe the use of the parallel-KMC simulation software Crystal-KMC in simulating the diffusion of vacancies in iron, and analyze the experimental results.
