| 2 | Molecular cloning and expression analysis of the Rf-m candidate genes encoding pentatricopeptide repeat proteins in soybean显示文摘Cytoplasmic male sterility(CMS)-restorer system is a useful tool to exploit heterosis in soybean.The major restorer gene for the M-type CMS is known as Rf-m,located in the 162.4-kb region on chromosome 16.Sequence analysis has revealed that the Rf-m locus in Glycine max consists of seven penta tricopeptide repeat(GmPPR)genes.The deduced amino acid sequences contain 8 to 14 PPR motifs,and a phylogenetic analysis grouped these GmPPR proteins into two PPR subfamilies:Glyma.16G161800 belongs to the PLS subfamily,and the P subfamily consists.of Glyma.16G161900,Glyma 16G162000,Glyma.16G162100,Glyma.16G162700,Glyma.16G162800,and Gly-ma 16G163100.The phylogenetic analysis of seven GmPPR proteins and 27 other plant PPR proteins also showed that proteins in the same subfamilies cluster together.Comparative sequence analysis was conducted using the seven Rf-m candidate GmPPR genes from the sterile line W931A,the maintainer line W931B,and the restorer line WR016,the result showed that Glyma 16G161900 had higher polymorphism than the other candidate genes.Based on real-time quantitative RT-PCR data,all seven GmPPR genes were differentially expressed but showed constitutive expression in roots,stems,leaves,and pollen grains.Additionally,the expression level of Gly-ma 16G161900 in the sterile line W931 A was significantly higher in all tissues than in the restorer line WR016.Taken together,these results suggest that Glyma 16G161900 is the most likely candidate for the restorer gene Rf-m.This study is the first report and analysis of candidate fertility restorer(Rf)genes encoding PPR proteins in soybean. | Dagang Wang Shengnan Chen Jiekun Li Qian Wu Guoyu Hu Zhiping Huang | 2021 | Oil Crop Science2021,6,3: | 1 |

| 5 | Numerical Simulation of Co-Combustion of Pulverized Coal and Different Proportions of Refused Derived Fuel in TTF Precalciner显示文摘Based on the theory of computational fluid dynamics(CFD),pulverized coal combustion alone,and the co-combustion of pulverized coal and refuse-derived fuel(RDF)in a Trinal-sprayed calciner(TTF)precalciner were simulated.The results revealed that when coal was used as a single fuel,the velocity field in the precalciner had good symmetry,and formed three spray effects and multiple recirculation zones.The main combustion zone was distributed in the lower tertiary air and pulverized coal area,and the highest temperature reached up to 1,500 K.According to the simulation results,the predicted decomposing rate of raw meal was 90.12%,which is in good agreement with the actual measured result.In addition,with the increase in RDF content,the average temperature of the furnace,the decomposition rate of the raw meal,and the NO_(x) concentration all exhibited a downward trend.Under the condition of ensuring the normal operation of the precalciner,blending with 20%RDF is the most reasonable strategy,and the NO_(x) emissions decreased by approximately 16%. | Jiekun Zhu Hongtao Kao | 2021 | Journal of Renewable Materials2021,9,7: | 0 |
| 6 | Historical connectivity and environmental filtering jointlydetermine the freshwater fish assemblages on Taiwan andHainan Islands of China显示文摘The biotas of Taiwan and Hainan Islands are of continental origin, but the manner with which historical and ecological factors shaped theseinsular species is still unclear. Here, we used freshwater fish as a model to fill this gap by quantifying the phylogenetic structure of the insularfaunas and disentangling the relative contribution of potential drivers. Firstly, we used clustering and ordination analyses to identify regionalspecies pools. To test whether the insular freshwater fish faunas were phylogenetically clustered or overdispersed, we calculated the net relatedness index (NRI) and the nearest taxon index (NTI). Finally, we implemented logistic regressions to disentangle the relative importance ofspecies attributes (i.e., maximum body length, climatic niche dissimilarity [ND], and diversification) and historical connectivity (HC) in explainingthe insular faunas. Our results showed that the most possible species pools of Taiwan are Zhejiang and Fujian provinces, and those of Hainanare Guangdong and Guangxi provinces. These insular faunas showed random phylogenetic structures in terms of NRI values. According to theNTI values, however, the Taiwan residents fauna displayed more phylogenetic clustering, while the Hainanese one was more overdispersed. Both thestandard and phylogenetic logistic regressions identified HC and climatic ND as the 2 top explanatory variables for species assemblages onthese islands.
