| 1 | Double-stream-pouring technique for production of gradient materials by continuous casting显示文摘A novel method for producing gradient materials by continuous casting is introduced. By using many-stream-pouring technique, samples with gradient distribution of alloy composition along the cross section have been prepared. The main difference of this method from the conventional continuous casting is the pouring system equipped with two sets of tundishes for liquid metals of different alloy compositions. Special consideration is given to the promotion and control of the cross-sectional mass transport. The steady heat transfer and mass flow ensure a partial mixing of two metals and yield a continously varying composition distribution. By adjusting the processing parameters, composition profile with different shapes can be achieved. First experiments have been carried out in Al-Si system and Al-Cu system for three series of Al/AlSi, AlSi/Al and AlCu/Al. It is shown that the alloy composition, the microstructure and the mechanical property change smoothly from the centre to the surface of the samples. | 3 | Long-term effects of gravel―sand mulch on soil organic carbon and nitrogen in the Loess Plateau of northwestern China显示文摘Gravel–sand mulch has been used for centuries to conserve water in the Loess Plateau of northwestern China. In this study, we assessed the influence of long-term(1996–2012) gravel–sand mulching of cultivated soils on total organic carbon(TOC), light fraction organic carbon(LFOC), microbial biomass carbon(MBC), total organic nitrogen(TON), particulate organic carbon(POC), mineral-associated organic carbon(MOC), permanganate-oxidizable carbon(KMn O4-C), and non-KMn O4-C at 0–60 cm depths. Mulching durations were 7, 11 and 16 years, with a non-mulched control. Compared to the control, there was no significant and consistently positive effect of the mulch on TOC, POC, MOC, KMn O4-C and non-KMn O4-C before 11 years of mulching, and these organic C fractions generally decreased significantly by 16 years. LFOC, TON and MBC to at a 0–20 cm depth increased with increasing mulching duration until 11 years, and then these fractions decreased significantly between 11 and 16 years, reaching values comparable to or lower than those in the control. KMn O4-C was most strongly correlated with the labile soil C fractions. Our findings suggest that although gravel–sand mulch may conserve soil moisture, it may also lead to long-term decreases in labile soil organic C fractions and total organic N in the study area. | 5 | DNA degradation within mouse brain and dental pulp cells 72 hours postmortem显示文摘In this study, we sought to elucidate the process of DNA degradation in brain and dental pulp cells of mice, within postmortem 0-72 hours, by using the single cell gel electrophoresis assay and professional comet image analysis and processing techniques. The frequency of comet-like cells, the percentage of tail DNA, tail length, tail moment, Olive moment and tail area increased in tandem with increasing postmortem interval. In contrast, the head radius, the percentage of head DNA and head area showed a decreasing trend. Linear regression analysis revealed a high correlation between these parameters and the postmortem interval. | 8 | Terrain relief periods of loess landforms based on terrain profiles of the Loess Plateau in northern Shaanxi Province,China显示文摘The Loess Plateau is densely covered by numerous types of gullies which represent different soil erosion intensities.Therefore,research on topographic variation features of the loess gullies is of great significance to environmental protection and ecological management.Using a5 m digital elevation model and data from a national geographic database,this paper studies different topographical areas of the Loess Plateau,including Shenmu,Suide,Yanchuan,Ganquan,Yijun,and Chunhua,to derive representative gully terrain profile data of the sampled areas.First,the profile data are standardized in MATLAB and then decomposed using the ensemble empirical mode decomposition method.Then,a significance test is performed on the results;the test confidence is 95% to 99%.The most reliable decomposition component is then used to calculate the relief period and size of the gullies.The results showed that relief periods of the Chunhua,Shenmu,Yijun,Yuanchuan,Ganquan,and Suide gullies are 1110.14 m,1096.85 m,1002.49 m,523.48 m,498.12 m,and 270.83 m,respectively.In terms of gully size,the loess landforms are sorted as loess fragmented tableland,aeolian and dune,loess tableland,loess ridge,loess hill and loess ridge,and loess hill,in descending order.Taken together,the gully terrain features of the sample areas and the results of the study are approximately consistent with the actual terrain profiles.Thus,we conclude that ensemble empirical mode decomposition is a reliable method for the study of the relief and topography of loess gullies. | Jianjun CAO Guoan TANG Xuan FANG Jilong LI Yongjuan LIU Yiting ZHANG Ying ZHU Fayuan LI | 2019 | Frontiers of Earth Science2019,13,2: | 4 |

Their physicochemical properties were characterized using XRD,SEM, nitrogen adsorption-desorption, Py-IR, NH_3-TPD, EDS, and ^(27)Al,^(31)P,^(29)Si MAS NMR techniques. The catalytic performance was assessed in the hydroisomerization of n-octane. The results showed that the silicon precursors influenced the physicochemical properties and catalytic performance of SAPO-11. SAPO-11 synthesized using hydrophilic fumed silica as silicon precursor showed higher silicon distribution and had more medium acid sites. SAPO-11 synthesized using TEOS as silicon precursor had more silicon content, but more silicon islands formed in its framework. The depolymerization of silicon precursors might affect the silicon content and distribution in SAPO-11. | 13 | Origin and evolution of ore-forming fluid for the Gaosongshan gold deposit, Lesser Xing’an Range:Evidence from fluid inclusions,H-O-S-Pb isotopes显示文摘Epithermal gold deposits are typical precious metal deposits related to volcanic and subvolcanic magmatism.Due to the lack of direct geological and petrographic evidences,the origin of the ore-forming fluid is deduced from the spatial diagenesis-mineralization relationship,chronological data,physicochemical characteristics of mineral fluid inclusions,mineral or rock elements and isotopic geochemical characteristics.By objectively examining this scientific problem via a geological field survey and petrographic analysis of the Gaosongshan epithermal gold deposit,we recently discovered and verified the following points:(1) Pyrite-bearing spherical quartz aggregates (PSQA) occur in the rhyolitic porphyry;(2) the mineralization is structurally dominated by WNW- and ENE-trending systems and occurs mostly in hydrothermal breccias and pyrite-quartz veins,and the ore types are mainly hematite-crusted quartz,hydrothermal breccia,massive pyrite-quartz,etc.;(3) the alteration types consist of prevalent silicification,sericitization,propylitization and carbonation,with local adularization and illitization.The ore minerals are mainly pyrite,primary hematite,native gold,and electrum,with lesser amounts of chalcopyrite,magnetite,sphalerite,and galena,indicating a characteristic epithermal low-sulfidation deposit.The ore-forming fluid may have been primarily derived from magmatic fluid exsolved from a crystallizing rhyolitic porphyry magma.Further zircon U-Pb geochronology,fluid inclusion,physicochemical and isotopic geochemical analyses revealed that (1) rhyolitic porphyry magmatism occurred at 104.6 ± 1.0 Ma,whereas the crystallization of the PSQA occurred at 100.8 ± 2.1 Ma;(2) the hydrothermal fluid of the pre-ore stage was an exsolved CO2-bearing H2O-NaCl magmatic fluid that produced inclusions mainly composed of pure vapor (PV),vapor-rich (WV) and liquid-rich (WL) inclusions with a small number of melt-(M) and solid-bearing (S) inclusions;mineralization-stage quartz contains WL and rare PV,WV and pure liquid (PL) inclusions characterized by the H2O-NaCl system with low formation temperatures and low salinities;(3) the characteristics of hydrogen,oxygen,sulfur,and lead isotopes and those of rare earth elements (REEs) provide insight into the affinity between PSQA and orebodies resulting from juvenile crust or enriched mantle.Combined with previous research on the mineralogenetic epoch (99.32 ± 0.01 Ma),we further confirm that the mineralization of the deposit occurred in the late Early Cretaceous,which coincides with the extension of the continental margin induced by subduction of the Pacific Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate.The formation of the ore deposit was proceeded by a series of magmatic and hydrothermal events,including melting of enriched juvenile crust,upwelling,the eruption and emplacement of the rhyolitic magma,the exsolution and accumulation of magmatic hydrothermal fluid,decompression,the cooling and immiscibility/boiling of the fluid,and mixing of the magmatic fluid with meteoric water,in association with water-rock interaction. | Yang Liu Jinggui Sun Jilong Han Liang Ren Alei Gu Keqiang Zhao Changshen Wang | 2019 | Geoscience Frontiers2019,10,5: | 3 |
| 14 | Differences and Links between the East Asian and South Asian Summer Monsoon Systems:Characteristics and Variability显示文摘This paper analyzes the differences in the characteristics and spatio–temporal variabilities of summertime rainfall and water vapor transport between the East Asian summer monsoon(EASM) and South Asian summer monsoon(SASM) systems. The results show obvious differences in summertime rainfall characteristics between these two monsoon systems. The summertime rainfall cloud systems of the EASM show a mixed stratiform and cumulus cloud system, while cumulus cloud dominates the SASM. These differences may be caused by differences in the vertical shear of zonal and meridional circulations and the convergence of water vapor transport fluxes. Moreover, the leading modes of the two systems' summertime rainfall anomalies also differ in terms of their spatiotemporal features on the interannual and interdecadal timescales. Nevertheless, several close links with respect to the spatiotemporal variabilities of summertime rainfall and water vapor transport exist between the two monsoon systems. The first modes of summertime rainfall in the SASM and EASM regions reveal a significant negative correlation on the interannual and the interdecadal timescales. This close relationship may be linked by a meridional teleconnection in the regressed summertime rainfall anomalies from India to North China through the southeastern part over the Tibetan Plateau, which we refer to as the South Asia/East Asia teleconnection pattern of Asian summer monsoon rainfall. | 16 | Landform Planation Index Extracted from DEMs: A Case Study in Ordos Platform of China显示文摘Planation surface, a surface that is almost flat, is a kind of low-relief landforms. Planation surface is the consequence of the denudation and planation processes under a tectonic stable condition. The quantitative expression of the characteristics of planation surface plays a key role in reconstructing and describing the evolutionary process of landforms. In this study, Landform Planation Index(LPI), a new terrain derivative, was proposed to quantify the characteristics of planation surface. The LPIs were calculated based on the summit surfaces formed according to the clustering results of peaks. Ten typical areas in the Ordos Platform located in the central part of the Loess Plateau of China are chosen as the test areas for investigating their planation characteristics with the LPI. The experimental results indicate that the LPI can be effectively used to quantify the characteristics of planation surfaces. In addition, the LPI can be further used to depict the patterns of spatial differentiation in the Ordos Platform. Although the present Ordos Platform area is full of the high-density gullies, its planation characteristics is found to be well preserved. Furthermore, the characteristics of the planation surfaces can also reflect the original morphology of the Ordos Platform before the loess dusts deposition process evolved in this area. The statistical results of the LPI show that there is a gradually increasing tendency along with the increasing of slope gradient of summit surface. It indicates that the characteristics of planation surfaces vary among test areas with different landforms. These findings help to deepen the understanding of planation characteristics of the loess landform and its underlying paleotopography. | 17 | Chondroblastoma in the long bone diaphysis:a report of two cases with literature review显示文摘To investigate the clinical characteristics of chondroblastoma with an emphasis on lesions located in the long bone diaphysis,we reviewed the clinical data of 7 patients with histologically proven chondroblastoma treated in Tianjin Medical University Cancer Hospital and Fudan University Cancer Hospital between January 1995 and May 2009.There were two rare cases of chondroblastoma in the long bone diaphysis.One patient with a lesion in the tibial diaphysis underwent intralesional curettage and bone grafting,and the postoperative bone function was measured as excellent according to the Enneking scoring system.The patient was still alive upon follow-up at 60 months.The other patient with a lesion in the humeral diaphysis underwent resection,and the postoperative bone function was excellent at 48 months,at which there was no evidence of recurrence or metastasis.Thus,except for the distinctive site of the long bone diaphysis,which made diagnosis difficult,the patients' ages,symptoms,X-ray and CT images,treatment,and prognosis were in accordance with typical lesions in the epiphysis and metaphysis.The diagnosis of chondroblastoma in the long bone diaphysis significantly depends on histopathologic characteristics. | Jilong Yang Wei Tian Xiongzeng Zhu Jian Wang | 2012 | Chinese Journal of Cancer2012,31,5: | 3 |
| 18 | Dynamic and Seismic Property Experiments of High Damping Concrete and Its Frame Models显示文摘The loss tangent and storage modulus of cement mortar containing treated silica fume and styrene-acrylic are measured.Shaking table tests on three groups of 1/4 models of high damping concrete frames are conducted to compare the effects of reducing vibration.A relationship between the viscosity coefficient of high damping concrete and the damping coefficient of structure is established by analyzing dynamic parameters like damping ratio and frequency,and comparing responses of relative displacement and absolute acceleration. | 19 | The prognostic significance of non-sentinel lymph node metastasis in cutaneous and acral melanoma patients—A multicenter retrospective study显示文摘Background:Whether non-sentinel lymph node(SLN)-positive melanoma patients can benefit from completion lymph node dissection(CLND)is still unclear.The current study was performed to identify the prognostic role of nonSLN status in SLN-positive melanoma and to investigate the predictive factors of non-SLN metastasis in acral and cutaneous melanoma patients.Methods:The records of 328 SLN-positive melanoma patients who underwent radical surgery at four cancer centers from September 2009 to August 2017 were reviewed.Clinicopathological data including age,gender,Clark level,Breslow index,ulceration,the number of positive SLNs,non-SLN status,and adjuvant therapy were included for survival analyses.Patients were followed up until death or June 30,2019.Multivariable logistic regression modeling was performed to identify factors associated with non-SLN positivity.Log-rank analysis and Cox regression analysis were used to identify the prognostic factors for disease-free survival(DFS)and overall survival(OS).Results:Among all enrolled patients,220(67.1%)had acral melanoma and 108(32.9%)had cutaneous melanoma.The 5-year DFS and OS rate of the entire cohort was 31.5%and 54.1%,respectively.More than 1 positive SLNs were found in 123(37.5%)patients.Positive non-SLNs were found in 99(30.2%)patients.Patients with positive non-SLNs had significantly worse DFS and OS(log-rank P<0.001).Non-SLN status(P=0.003),number of positive SLNs(P=0.016),and adjuvant therapy(P=0.025)were independent prognostic factors for DFS,while non-SLN status(P=0.002),the Breslow index(P=0.027),Clark level(P=0.006),ulceration(P=0.004),number of positive SLNs(P=0.001),and adjuvant therapy(P=0.007)were independent prognostic factors for OS.The Breslow index(P=0.020),Clark level(P=0.012),and number of positive SLNs(P=0.031)were independently related to positive non-SLNs and could be used to develop more personalized surgical strategy.Conclusions:Non-SLN-positive melanoma patients had worse DFS and OS even after immediate CLND than those with non-SLN-negative melanoma.The Breslow index,Clark level,and number of positive SLNs were independent predictive factors for non-SLN status. | Wei Sun Yu Xu JiLong Yang ZhiChao Liao Tao Li Kai Huang Poulam Patel WangJun Yan Yong Chen | 2020 | Cancer Communications2020,40,11: | 2 |

Even in future networks – Software-Defined Networks, with loop-free implementation mechanism, it still suffers loop problems. In this paper, we propose an architecture to solve the loop problem in SDN. Unlike the existing passive routing loop detection algorithm, this algorithm processes based on the SDN loop-free characteristic, by auditing third-party network forwarding rules’ modification requests to avoids loop generation, thus avoid the network loop problems. Testbed is built to simulate our proposed algorithm.
